"If you see this, I'm already under arrest," said a caption in the silent 84-second clip posted by the account @PepMangione, which matches other social handles that appear to be those of Luigi Mangione, the man arrested on Monday. The message was accompanied by a countdown from 60 seconds. Near the end of the video, the message, "Soon..." appeared at the bottom right of a black screen. A second caption appeared at the end of the video, saying, "All is scheduled, be patient. Bye for now."

Thanks for posting that. They describe a "deadman switch", if it's not rescheduled at a certain time, the yt video gets published online. I think that's how it works. Interesting, apart from this case.

A person who had been in the same fraternity with Mangione at the University of Pennsylvania said he had heard that Mangione had been out of contact with many people from campus for the last year. The former classmate said the last time he'd spoken to Mangione was in February 2023, when Mangione mentioned that he had suffered a spine injury.

I do not believe he has ten siblings. it was a photo that contained many grandchildren, and I counted at least ten (siblings or cousins) that looked strikingly similar.

That's what my husband said. His office had a 3D printer that could make very complicated replicas. When I asked how it did it, he said that he had no idea!

Those guns are actually pretty reliable. I have some friends into building guns that way.

The picture emerging for me is that of a very smart, very privileged young man who experienced some kind of traumatic medical event (a back injury) roughly 18 months ago. Based on what we’ve heard from friends and coworkers this aligns with what appears to be a marked personality change, job loss, and most especially a self-isolation that accelerated the closer we get to the date of the murder (probably because he was obsessively planning). He likely blames UHC for further upending his life in some way (a denied claim?); this was his new purpose, his revenge.
