Leaning towards a professional hit too. This guy has done this before. He's very calm, skilled and not put off by having a very close witness. Appears he had a set window of time. Seems too coincidental that this happened the morning of the conference for it to not be linked to his business dealings/recent DoJ investigation.

The found mobile phone. Quite possible that this could just be someone's lost phone and completely unrelated.
Is that a witness or a lookout/accomplice?

The reason I'm laughing at that is that it'd be hilarious if he tried to collect his Starbucks Rewards stars/points on his order!
"The Frugal Assassin".

I doubt it. There’s an excellent chance he left DNA on that device, and that would be much too big a risk. Perhaps that’s where he changed clothing, and took his phone out of his pocket with the intention of putting it back in his pocket once he changed.

And forgot…
But it can’t be his phone or he would already be in custody or there would be a BOLO for him. The NYC media would already know.

Does he have different colored shoes on?
No. I screenshot it mid stride, which gives that appearance. It’s just the bottom of his shoe. Here’s a better image.

100%. He has evaded any additonal sightings for hours. My money is on professional and intentional until proven otherwise

One big issue with UHC is their rate of denying coverage, in particular with Medicare Advantage plans - which has a different business model than Employer based plans. Most employers self insure and just have the insurance company administer the claims. So they might give more leeway.

Medicare Advantage plans take $ from Medicare (instead of Medicare paying your claims) and pay out from that. They can severely restrict what providers are covered, and I saw a stat that UHC has the highest claim denial rate (over 30%, when the industry average is in the low teens). Open enrollment for Medicare is about to end, and all of the promotions are for Advantage plans - because that is where the insurance companies can make the most profit. They tempt you with "add ons" like "free" vision and dental but then the Advantage plan decides what medical treatments they will cover for you. Penny wise and pound foolish - I went with a Medigap (or Supplemental) plan.

Medicare Advantage plans are going to be surprising so many subscribers in the future. People think they are getting the same coverage as straight Medicare, and they are NOT.

Also, you don't see advertising for straight Medicare plans because they are not ALLOWED to advertise. Whereas, Medicare Advantage plans can advertise.. Another reason why consumers THINK they are getting better deals.

One day this will be a perfect case for ID’s “See No Evil,” show.

Surveillance cameras are going to solve this one. I’m sure we’ll start seeing images soon.
See No Evil is my favorite show on ID!

This is why I think that a second person is involved. He's telling him that the CEO is in the Lobby and getting ready to head over to the Hilton.

JMO.

Or maybe... he is telling the pilot to start the engines!!! Ha!!

It's been what 11 hours now? He could be in the Bahamas counting his money now.
Though I don't really believe that, but.....

They may not put his name out there right away even if they did know. There are downsides with that.

It generally takes some time to crack phone passwords.

This thread is going fast and somebody might have already asked this: is there any chance this person was ''flown in'' a few days ago from another country just for this hit assignment?

Definitely has been brought up as a possibility....

He had to have lowered the mask to eat or drink whatever he went to Starbucks for: that video may be out there.

I was thinking in a similar direction. The killer is tall and gangly, with that smug youthful stride which makes me think he is in his twenties. Dressed in black bloc; could be a political hit against the corporation the victim was employed by. MOO
Speaking of kestone comedy....

The NYPD and FBI probably fell into laughing fits when a terror cell member strolled into a New Jersey U Haul rental office and...... actually tried to get his deposit back on the U haul rented for the initial WTC bombing.

Completely guess but gone to ground in nyc is my guess—not a bad place to hide in plane sight—especially if disguise was used before or after. Exit entry from Manhattan will be watched

Looking at the various images of this guy, I’m leaning towards him being on the younger side. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was in his mid 20s.

I do not believe this was a hired hit; I think it was someone who wanted to strike back at the health insurance business with some sort of ideological or personal motivation.

it almost looks similar to a delivery backpack JMO
That’s what I thought about. Food delivery, but probably a CEO staying in a hotel won’t call Ubereats? Maybe a courier to bring some papers? That could explain the victim getting outside, maybe looking for the courier, then, not finding him and coming back?

LE will go back a week to look for video of this guy in the area. I don’t see how he gets away.
