I'm assuming NYPD used a drone (or multiple) to surveil the park as soon as possible. The good news is many trees have lost their leaves making it easier to search with a drone.

I have no doubts this guy will be caught. It's just a matter of time.

Yes, I was waiting for images like this, and I think there will be more.

I’d be very surprised if we’re still talking about a manhunt at this time tomorrow.
The nose seems distinctive. Someone will recognize him. But, if he's not local, the photo needs to be broadcast widely.

@billhuffman3

Professional hit. Gloves, silencer, generic clothing and the fact he doesn’t get close enough to get any blood splatter on his clothing.

From this video clip, it appears obvious that this was a targeted hit. There was a person right there drinking coffee who ran off when the shooting started. The assassin didn't go after this person.

I'm not sure if the shooter is a male or female, though. When I first saw the still, I thought that it could be a woman. However, it seems too calculated and heartless to be a woman unless it was a spurned lover??

ETA: After viewing the photos from the front, this definitely looks like a guy. The video is pretty clear. So, hopefully, someone will recognize him. The photos need to be put on national news and cable news. Surely, someone will recognize him.

Yeah. If this was some killing done by a genius criminal mastermind the shooter wouldn't have stopped at what appears to be a convenience store, which always have cameras as a deterrence to theft.

Even though we can't see below his nose in these new images, he looks pretty recognizable to me.

Food packets on counter.
Looks to be using a credit card too. LE has the location and the time, what was purchased and how he arrived and left. I'm feeling confident that they will get him.

You would think that UHC would put up a sizable reward (not just the $10k now offered).

JMO.
They may have been advised not to. Rewards tend to draw a lot of false tips.

The investor meeting details weren't a secret. A smart person could easily track the CEO to the hotel. He's a public figure.

And it's not wrong to be infuriated when your child is denied a life-saving treatment by their insurance company.
Moo
Whoa.

Its not wrong to be infuriated about denied healthcare because of insurance (imo, we all should be collectively infuriated), but it **IS** wrong to gun someone down because of it. We don't need or want vigilantes.

Wow. Surely, someone will recognize this guy. I had wondered when viewing from behind if it was a male or female; however, this definitely looks like a guy. Doesn't the FBI have some kind of facial identification software that it can use??

What is interesting for me is the shooter shots BT in the back.

-- So the shooter has no personal connection to BT?
-- So shooter does not care if BT knows he is the person who wanted him dead?

Or shooter shots BT in the back because of opportunity?

However, LE stated shooter was lying in wait for *several minutes for BT, so it’s possible the shooter could have confronted BT face to face before shooting him?

My thoughts only

The man wanted for fatally shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Midtown Wednesday morning was spotted inside a nearby Starbucks before killing his target, police said.

The NYPD released a new photo of the hooded suspect standing in front of the counter at the Starbucks at W 56th Street and 6th Avenue, just minutes away from the Hilton hotel where he gunned down Thompson, 50.

I think they’d need more of the face in order to do that. It’s also not the clearest image.

Where in that comment is it mentioned that killing a person because of insurance denial is acceptable?

I cannot believe he went into a Starbucks before this!

Starbucks. No doubt police are talking to the employees. Maybe they have a better description...voice, eye color, mannerisms, accent etc.

Though I understand your reasoning, it was likely not sloppy.

The murderer's gun jammed. Clearing a jam usually involves "racking" the slide at some point in an attempt to seat partially fed cartridges, or to fully eject a cartridge still partially in the pistol.

The end result is that it is common for a live round or two- or three (if done fast and under stress) to be ejected when clearing a jammed pistol.
The live rounds make sense in light of the jam.

It will be interesting to learn who paid for the hit and their motive.

To quote It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia... "it's the implication."

I agree because he has to know about the security cameras. These days you just assume all stores have them.
But, he seems very confident in his mission and seems to be making direct eye contact with whomever is waiting on him too. He's not nervous about the deed ahead or being identified, imo.
