I don't see this turning out to be a professional hit. The guy's a good shooter who's brazen; he had a plan and some basic internet search skills. I don't see someone hired as a professional hitman doing this on a busy street first thing in the morning; this is sending a very public message. Very curious as to what that message is.

Has anything more been shared on the nature of the threats. That piece doesn’t make sense to me—who warns about a contract killing. Though could be unrelated—many people upset when it comes to healthcare (in no way saying this should be directed at him or justifies despicable actions)
Could threats be a set-up to make LE look in the wrong direction? jmo

This is extremely bold and dumb. I don't think it's a hitman. They didn't care if they got caught. MOO

Why not? If you are good, the crowdedness of nyc will be an asset not a liability. Who can look for footprints when 10,000 feet have covered the ground in the last hour. You would have to be very smart about quickly getting off of cameras but if you can do that…

Tried to enhance and sharpen the picture. If I knew this guy, I think I would recognize him. Long straight nose, wide cheekbones, maybe the somewhat deepset eyes.

Any "professional" assassin who would willingly go into a Starbucks, with cameras, and interact with baristas, is not very professional, imo. I won't be surprised to find out he paid with a traceable card. Or used a discount card.

To me, his nose looks distinctly crooked. Maybe broken in the past?

Oooof very young man :-(
Excuse my ignorance, UnitedHealthcare? I have never heard of this company here in the UK, is this a huge company, any controversies surrounding this, significant achievements and/or capital? Trying to figure out why this poor man was targeted, horrible thing to do. Edited: to add a letter s after a noun.

i am sure others have answered you by now...
but do make sure to go back thread to read a couple of the articles about UHC.... there ARE controversial issues...

Just my opinion…. I see several comments about the assassin possibly wearing a prosthetic nose.

To me his nose just looks like a nose….a little long but after all, there are nine million noses living here. Not to mention however many out-of-towners are here at any given moment.

The only bit of credence that I can see about a false nose is solely because he could’ve easily had his mask above his nose at Starbucks, yet his nose was exposed.

But again, as a nose it looks like a real nose, IMO. Definitely there is someone out there who could identify him, as enough of his facial features are clear.

IMO it’s his eyes that are more distinctive.
I'm just speculating along the lines of this being a red herring -- to go into a store knowing that his face will be caught on camera. Seems pretty intentional. You have to know that you will be caught on camera.

I could see that in a bank robbery or something, where a perpetrator has no choice but to get caught on camera. Even with fake facial features though, he'd be taking a really big risk for very little gain here. There's the possibility of leaving DNA or fingerprints behind, someone still recognizing you despite alterations to your appearance, the transaction itself exposing you, people seeing an image of your clothing and backpack (even if you disposed of them it can help build a trail) and the risk of obtaining an item that could give you away via DNA (a drink or something).

Is it possible the company or someone on the board etc could have arranged this?

I just heard this picture is from Starbucks! Could you imagine going for coffee prior to killing someone....

The NYPD released a new photo of the hooded suspect standing in front of the counter at the Starbucks at W. 56th Street and 6th Avenue, just minutes away from the Hilton hotel where he gunned down Thompson, 50.
