He barely moved the whole time the attorney read the charges, very spooky and chilling.

Sentencing is scheduled for 7/23 at 9am, with option to continue into 7/24 if additional time is needed.

Heartless, stone cold heartless --

Really feeling the harsh contrast --

His parents, victims of their son.

Three children, one who does this. Severed his own family.

And Chapins with their triplets, one forever lost.

It's all so cruel, evil, senseless.

I feel ill.

So much loss.

I also wonder about the five witnesses recently called by the prosecution (and apparently vetted by the Judge in a closed hearing - but BK was almost certainly there. Actually, apparently it was 7 people from PA. The article below says that one of them (who must have talked to the press) remembers yelling and violent acting by BK:

It appears that the young prof who wrote his LoR for grad school was among them. One of the odd things said in that article is that BK never threw a bunch in the boxing class (his dad was taking it? he just tagged along for "something to do" as if he was being babysat? The instructor says he had no "fighting skills."

In psychoanalytic theory, one would then ponder whether buying a knife was a compensatory mechanism after all other attempts to be something like a soldier or a policeman had failed. I would think this indicates a profound need to be in control of others - to be "above" them or, even, licensed to use violence as a way of channeling the "crazy thoughts" he admits to in his adolescent writings.

I do wonder if his father, in particular, suspected what had happened (even just a little) when BK came home from Washington to stay.

IMO

Quick clarifications/corrections

re: the boxing gym, he wasn't just being babysat

The teen came to his gym with his father because he needed something to do, Harris said. “Bryan never threw a punch at anyone,” he said. “He wasn’t there to box. He was there, like a lot of kids, to work out, to build confidence and to lose weight.”

re: the PA witnesses who had their court date on Monday--as seen in the PA court docs and in this article, they were to be witnesses for the defense, not the prosecution

Monday’s hearing in eastern Pennsylvania was scheduled to address rare interstate subpoenas filed by the defense, which required approval by a Pennsylvania judge. Abigail Parnell, the attorney representing Kohberger on behalf of his Idaho public defense team, did not say in open court why she wanted the men to testify.

I didn't see anything in that article about yelling or violent behavior or the LoR writing professor? Is there a different article?

I'm not even remotely connected to this case, but I felt physically ill just with what little was discussed today, and on pins and needles the entire time worried he would change his mind. I can't even imagine the emotions a full trial would have brought to the victims' families and friends. I'm elated that justice is being done here.

NN is showing close up still photos of BK from hearing

No longer presumption of innocence, no longer allowed to attend court in civilian clothes.
Yep.
I was just about to post that.
Good.
It irked me to see that monster sitting there all dressed up like he was a normal person and not a cold blooded demon.

A little disappointed BK can't be made to answer where he put the murder weapon, etc., before this plea was accepted but that's how it goes.
Imo.

Absolute disgrace. A waste of life. BK is a deranged psychopath.

I’m allowed to say that now, right?

Ethan was sleeping in Xana's bed. Ethan was no danger to detecting or challenging BK after he'd murdered Madison, Kaylee, and Xana. And he stabbed him to death anyway.

Another notch for his murder post.

So matter of fact, his demeanor! I bet he was the same when he did the murders. The only emotion I see from him was the selfie and his actions driving away. This guy is something else.

BT very emotional while finishing reading off victims' names.
I can't imagine how much this case was weighing on him. I would wager that 99% of prosecutors go through their entire careers without encountering a case as horrible as this one.

The DA shows more emotion and empathy than Bryan.

Bless that prosecutor whose voice broke when saying the kid's names. 😭

Responding to my own post to reflect upon the fact that DM is very lucky to be alive today as there is no doubt in my mind that had BK seen her, she'd have been stabbed to death as certainly as were her 3 roommates and Ethan.

I suspect nothing means much to BK.

I'm sickened and sad.

Absolutely chilling that a human being can be so devoid of emotion and empathy, so stone cold, so detached and narcissistic. I guess that's the mindset of a psychopath.
