Thank you for answering.
So it's acceptable that 20% was taken by force? What if another country wanted 20% of the USA?
It's never going to happen because unlike Ukraine, America is very strong. JMO.

So because Ukraine is smaller it was ok?

Sure, and meanwhile our allies turn their backs on us when we are need because we decided to swing our pickles at the President of a war-torn country who was asking for help, referring to him as a dictator, trying to force him to bend the knee, all while Putin, a REAL dictator/murderer/disgusting human, is revered. He's absolutely thrilled with these developments, and doesn't give an elephant's fart what happens to our country. DJT could keel over tonight and Putin would MAYBE tweet a "So sad, RIP", then he'd be off to find his next mark.
Tide is already turning on us with some of the military fuel supply being cut off. If other companies follow suit, our Navy is FUBAR'd.
This is disgraceful, and anyone who supports it is disgraceful, too.
IMO.
The only fuel supply I know that was cut off, is the US cutting off oil from Venezuela. <modsnip - off topic>
Moo.

No I wasn't sure. In fact I was thinking you are Ukrainian, Canadian, or from some European country? And I asked because it would help me in understanding your post and any reply I may have. JMO.
<modsnip: personalizing> Which other country's warships are being turned away from fueling right now?
<modsnip>
IMO.

I never said I liked it happening. I wish that Biden wasn't the US President at the time of the invasion because otherwise it would have never taken place. JMO.

It was posted earlier that a Norweigan company has decided not to refuel our ships, and have turned at least one away today. You can find the link if you look back a few pages.

It doesn't have to be an endless war if the border is properly defended. It Ukraine joins NATO, every NATO country will be there to protect the sovereign, democratic country of Ukraine.

Why is the USA opposed to giving Ukraine that protection?
NATO has given a firm NO. NATO will not put troops on the ground in Ukraine. Ukraine is not a NATO Nation and not entitled to any of the benefits.

Putin has repeatedly stated if NATO or the US put boots on the ground he considers it an act of war.

Why we don't give him that protection? As US citizens, we did not want to send troops in to be murdered, maimed and slaughtered. These are our sons and daughters, our fathers and mothers, our grandkids. Nope we're not sending them into war with Ukraine. It's a hard NO. Besides, the US cannot enter a war nor declare war without the approval of Congress. So blame all of America, not Trump, he doesn't have the authority to send our troops in.

It is a news story, I am always refreshing and keeping updated and it is there for all to see, if interested in what's happening in this world, especially these times. I do wish I was a numpty though, much easier going around like that, right?

Yes when Trump gets his head out of his fat ahh and starts sending aid again
Ain't happening. After the way he spoke about the US and Trump over the last week, I'm betting there won't be another dollar sent their way. They've exhausted all the funding under the previous administration. The only way we can send additional funding is if Congress awards new funds. Moo

13-year-old Ukrainian who lost both legs in Russian missile strike showed the world her unbreakable spirit!

Yana Stepanenko ran 5 km on prosthetics at the Tokyo Friendship Run to raise funds for a soldier who also had a double leg amputation. She wants to help him return to an active life using prosthetics as soon as possible.

The Tokyo Friendship Run is one of the six largest world runs in the World Marathon Majors series.

"I was motivated by the people who ran with me and the Ukrainians who came to support me today. But my main motivation and what gave me the strength not to give up was Oleksandr, the soldier for whom I'm raising money for prosthetics," Yana said.

"King Charles is to meet Volodymyr Zelensky at Sandringham on Sunday in a rare and dramatic sign of royal support.

The King’s invitation to the Ukraine president came a day after Donald Trump sparked worldwide outrage by insulting and abusing Mr Zelensky at the White House.

And it is only two days after Mr Trump accepted an invitation from the King for an unprecedented second state visit to Britain – delivered to him personally by Sir Keir Starmer.

King Charles’s impromptu meeting with Mr Zelensky will take place after the president meets Sir Keir, who is hosting a weekend summit of EU leaders on the Ukraine crisis."

I think this is a clever bit of diplomacy. The Uk treating both the Ukrainian and US Presidents equally, within the UK. Hopefully the intention is to mediate between them. I have to say I was all for the Uk being a republic until this happened! I have changed my mind. It's clear that our Head of State (King) can be of benefit - not a politican but a Head of State to smooth things over.

The issue seems to be that Zelensky wants a "secure" peace. Not just a deal over minerals. He needs a presence that would stop Russia invading again. If Nato can't do it (as mentioned earlier) then it takes an individual country to do it.

I can't make out what Trump is trying to achieve by his stance with Zelensky. Is it
1) He doesn't want to give him a load more money
2) He is hoping for a Nobel Peace Prize by making peace with Putin and Ukraine
3) He is scared of Putin and WWIII and happy to give up on Ukraine

I don't know what it's all about but he does seem to totally deny that Russia invaded Ukraine and Russia is the aggressor. Presumably because he is trying to keep Putin sweet in order to effect a deal.

Zelensky cannot just accept a peace deal without protection from future Russian Invasion.

A "compromise" might be Ukraine accepting Russia keeps the territories they have occupied, to end the war - PROVIDING Ukraine has their borders protected.

How that can be achieved I don't know. Zelensky explained on this Fox News interview and I think it explains the issues well. MOO

The USS Virginia (a nuclear sub) was turned away today - not a ship, but still one of our vessels.
That company is refusing to fuel our ships and subs due to what happened yesterday.

Thanks for the link. I can see that Norway doesn't want the help of the US Navy anymore.

We can use those US Navy assets elsewhere. JMO.

It's in the media here in the Uk

Fuel giant in Norway bans sales to US forces after Trump-Zelensky clash

Seems a regional newspaper is onto it before the Nationals have posted the story!

The US company NEROS secured major contract to supply 6,000 anti-jamming Archer FPV drones to Ukraine

The deal follows rigorous testing, with NEROS emphasizing its cutting-edge radio tech designed to counter electronic warfare

"History has taught us that appeasing aggressors leads to catastrophe. Trump's exclusion of Ukraine from peace talks with Putin is Munich 1938 all over again" -- @CarlBildt, former Swedish PM

NEW: Senior US officials are suggesting that the United States may cut all aid to Ukraine, although President Trump has not indicated any such intention.

Cutting the current flow of aid to Ukraine would directly undermine President Trump’s stated goal of achieving a sustainable peace in Ukraine.
I'm not surprised the Senate may cut funding. Vance, Waltz and Rubio were all US Senators prior to VP and cabinet positions. Trump has a very strong supportive team, very different from his first term. Moo

I can certainly understand the tendency for some to believe that something terrible isn't actually happening. Why they refuse to acknowledge even what they see with their own eyes and to willfully remain in the dark. It's a coping mechanism and a survival technique, I suppose. But, there comes a time when we, as adults, have to put on our big girl and big boy pants and face actual reality. Burying our heads in the sand right now is not an option. It will prove to be a devastating failure for the USA.

Switch Putin and Zelensky around and your 🤬🤬🤬

What would a Ukraine compromise look like?

Zelenskyy has offered to step down to appease those who complain that elections were not held during war. He will negotiate with natural resources, including to repay money that was given with no strings attached.

Should Zelenskyy decide what Ukraine needs in return, or does Mr Trump expect that he can decide what Ukraine needs?
I thought that Zelenskyy said he would step down if Ukraine became a NATO member. Maybe I'm remembering wrong. JMO.

People who have been displaced by war have to find new homes, jobs, schools and lives. 20,000 children that were stolen from Ukraine to be brainwashed in Russia - what about them? Can they go home?

Ukraine doesn't need to be reconstructed if it's going to be bombed again in a year. Ukraine needs assurances that Russia will not re-invade in the near future. Trump's Shark Tank deal is completely off-base in the context of his big-talk over the last few years about stopping the war in Ukraine within days.

The USA can keep their re-building money for their Gaza Resort. Ukraine needs border security, not Trump towers.
Well the mineral deals off the table. Putin says he's not conceding any land mass. Zelenskyy it's not willing to concede land. So the war continues, so many lives will be lost, so many will be maimed for life.
