There will likely be a combination of countries who will help provide security, and a combination of countries that will help rebuild and recover. Each country doing what they are able to do to help Ukraine.
They do not all have the same capacities to assist. But each are trying, and will try.

Even non-European countries are helping. I have already posted (back in the threads) about my own country currently helping to train Ukraine soldiers in the UK, and sending money and materials.

imo
Would your county be willing to send troops to support Ukraine?

Yes @STAGNUM ….. quite good points here. And one has to wonder, with Musk and all the electronic vehicles and electronic industry in which he participates. Might there be some interest that relates to the desired precious metals and mineral deposits? One can hope that is being investigated by some international or governmental authority. And so it is fully dislocated and transparent if being conducted. MOO
I think its Apple, currently manufacturing in China. Several TECH companies have expressed interest in developing AI.
Electric vehicles are on a downward swing. Tax incentives have been drastically reduced and will probably be non-existent with the new budget. I'm pretty sure they have cut federal funding to localities for charging stations. Unless you're in a big city in America, they're are very few or non-existent. I live in a community of about 55,000 we don't have one single public charging station.
Musk may need for SpaceX, not sure what they use.

I have already stated at least several times that I think where the UK goes, we will go. We already have some military boots on the ground in the UK (about 90 soldiers at the moment) - training Ukraine troops.

There are also Australian civilians fighting with Ukraine. We have lost at least 7 Australians there.

Major Jack said he was proud of the part his team had played in assisting more than 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers since June 2022 as part of the wider UK-led and based training program.

“It’s very humbling, and a privileged feeling to be having this key role as part of our mission,” Major Jack said.

Commander 9th Brigade Brigadier Tim Orders said the quality of the training being delivered by the team was world class and a testament to the skill and professionalism of the Australian soldier.

At least seven Australians are thought to have been killed while fighting for Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion of the country began in February 2022.

And, the so-called reporter who asked Zelenskyy why he wasn't wearing a suit? Well that's Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend. No bias there, right?!?

And here's a photo of Winston Churchill visiting the White House in 1942 and not wearing a suit. No one questioned him.
View attachment 567382

It was all a set up against Zelenskyy. TASS "reporter" and the suit question from MTG's boyfriend. Disgraceful.

Yep, and apparently there was a wink right after that ridiculous question about Zelenkskyy's attire

Does Trump's wink prove the White House bust-up was planned? Does Trump's wink prove the White House bust-up was planned?

Of course they didn't. They clearly provided access. Putin must be happy. Clearly Trump is in Putin's pocket. There is no other explanation.

Absolutely! I mean you'd think it would be impossible for someone to be in close proximity to the president of the united states that hasn't been security checked, right? Especially considering what has happened in the past year when they haven't even been that close!
No way that reporter wasn't invited, not a chance. Them saying otherwise is just as pathetic as when someone posts stupid stuff on his personal accounts and then pretends he got hacked

I posted a link further back that stated that one of Russia's several business offerings to the US was a joint venture to Mars, involving Musk.

The US, Russia and several other countries, have a joint venture and the International Space Station. Currently SpaceX is the only transportation the US has to ISS. Another company has tried, but abandon the return flight do the safety concerns. SpaceX has agreed to retrieve the stranded astronauts I think in March.

No, SpaceX/Musk does not currently have a joint venue for Mars.

Once you sign the negotiations are over, lol.
You have got to be kidding with the last paragraph...
If Zelensky is not happy with the deal he needs to walk away. No, he wants US military support. Trump cannot offer him that. Only Congress has the authority to enter a war or declare war. He needs to cut the rhetoric and move on to another plan. No amount of demanding is going to put US troops on the ground in Ukraine.

He wants our US taxpayer dollars, but doesn't want to give us anything in return. The deal won't provide repayment of any previous funds. It does benefit the US, creating potential for the US to enter technological manufacturing. Currently everyone's having to use China.

Maybe you half-read the post. It is a recent Russian business offering, an "opportunity", during the recent private talks between Russia and the US.

The Bloomberg link (ref 21) speaks of the 'business opportunities':
  • a joint US-Russia mission to Mars, involving Musk also
  • Putin offering to work with the US to mine Russian rare earth metals
  • to sell 2 million tons of aluminium to the US if the US lifts sanctions
  • Russia and the US forming a joint venture for aluminium production in Siberia
(Link in my previous post)

Zelenskyy isn’t asking for US troops, just military aid (intelligence, equipment) to defend Ukraine from Russia. It’s about helping Ukraine protect itself, not dragging the US into a war. As for taxpayer dollars, it’s not just charity; this is a strategic investment. A stable Ukraine keeps Russia in check, which benefits US security. The minerals deal could also help reduce dependence on China for critical tech resources, which is a win for both the US and Ukraine. It’s more complex than just sending money with no return.

Italy and UK share 'similar mindset' when it comes to Ukraine - Starmer

Meloni and Starmer sit by a fireplace for a conversation. They're respective flags, Italian and British, are draped behind them

We're hearing now from Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who have just greeted one another at Downing Street ahead of a meeting.

Starmer starts by saying it's "fantastic" to have Meloni in the UK.

He references his recent trip to Rome - saying it was an opportunity to celebrate the relationship between the two countries.

"I'm very much looking forward to having the opportunity today to talk to you about the important issues that face us - I think we approach them with a very similar mindset."

UK and Italy can play a key role in bridge-building - Meloni

More now from the televised remarks between Starmer and Meloni.

The Italian prime minister tells Starmer she thinks it's "very, very important" to avoid running the risk of a split in the West.

"And that's why I think the UK and Italy can play a key role in bridge-building," she adds.

She also tells Starmer that she wants to see a "lasting peace" in Ukraine.

'US and Ukraine should return to table,' Lithuanian president says after talks with Starmer, Baltic leaders

Earlier today, UK prime minister Keir Starmer also met with representatives of the three Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Lithuanian president Gitanas Nausėda posted a readout from their meeting, saying “the US and Ukraine should return to the negotiation table, together with Europeans,” but also backing Tusk’s comments earlier on prioritising Nato’s eastern flank.

Had an important discussion with UK Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer and other Baltic leaders.

My takeaways:

- We should not spare our effort to maintain a strong transatlantic bond.

- US and Ukraine should return to the negotiation table, together with Europeans.

- Nato eastern flank safety is a priority.

- European peace enforcement - a possible element of security guarantees for Ukraine.

Europe will be keen to get Zelensky and Trump at the table again

James Landale
Diplomatic correspondent

Today’s summit was planned before the infamous shouting match in the Oval Office. But the breakdown in relations between Ukraine and the United States will dominate.

The leaders are expected to make a very public show of support for President Zelensky.

The prime minister began that yesterday by giving him a warm hug in Downing Street and a £2.26bn loan to help him to buy more arms.

Zelensky will also meet the King later this afternoon.

Starmer will not want the summit to be seen as a rebuke to President Trump.

He says he wants it to focus on beefing up European defence spending and finding security guarantees for Ukraine. But discussions will inevitably look at ways – if possible – of getting Ukraine and the US talking again.

The prime minister and President Macron both spoke to Trump last night.

With the transatlantic alliance and the future of Ukraine in the balance, much is at stake.

This is False and backward, but consistent with far right propaganda. I am glad that the free world knows the truth. Propaganda is such a destructive tool when used against one's own people. :(

PM says he and Macron have agreed to begin talks as Europe scrambles to respond to White House disaster

The prime minister told the BBC on Sunday that he and the French president, Emmanuel Macron, had agreed to begin negotiations separate to those between the US and Russia, after a series of hurried phone calls on Saturday evening.

Starmer told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg: “We’ve now agreed that the United Kingdom, along with France and possibly one or two others, will work with Ukraine on a plan to stop the fighting, and then we’ll discuss that plan with the United States.”

He added: “The UK and France are the most advanced in the thinking on this, and that’s why President Macron and I are going to be working on this plan, which we’ll then discuss with the US.

“That is a step in the right direction. This is not an exclusion – the more the better in this. But we need to move to a quicker, more agile way of going forward, and I think that is a coalition of the willing states.”

It sounds doubtful Starmer is going to be able to rally large immediate military funding, increases are in the future and many are for humanitarian and reconstruction only. . Only UK and France have offered troops, so far. They are meeting today with European countries, hopefully they will have some good news soon.
The lack of security support from other nations maybe problematic for Ukraine.

I do admire Starmer, he's stepped up to try and rally Europe. I hope the European countries will give him the support he needs to offer Zelenskyy security.

...
"There are a number of different routes people can go down. One is to ramp up the rhetoric as to how outraged we all are or not."

He said the other option was to "roll up my sleeves" and quickly phone both men - and then also to speak to French President Emmanuel Macron about the role that the leading nations of Europe would play.
...
Earlier this week, the PM announced he would cut the foreign aid budget to fund an increase in defence funding to 2.5% of national income by 2027, which led to the resignation of his International Development Minister Anneliese Dodds.

The move came after Trump had called on the US's Nato allies to increase defence spending to 5% of their respective national incomes.

France spends 2.1% on defence and has pledged to double this by 2030.

Sir Keir urged all European nations to review their defence budgets, saying: "Generally Europe needs to do more in its own defence and security and that's why I've said we need to increase spending, we've got to increase capability .

Asked to explain what a European "coalition of the willing" he said: "We need to be clear what a European security guarantee [in Ukraine] would look like.

"We've got to find those countries in Europe that are prepared to be a bit more forward-leaning."

He said the UK and France were leading the thinking on it but added: "The more the better in this."

Does Trump's wink prove the White House bust-up was planned? Does Trump's wink prove the White House bust-up was planned?

Yes, complete with a dupers delight smile.

Good article with more disappointing details.

Trump ill mannered and ungracious from the start greeted the President of Ukrainian at the White House door publicly mocking him in his signature tasteless manner by commenting and pointing for the cameras at Zelenskyy’s clothing.

Trump is shown in the picture goofing like a circus clown while Zelenskyy is suitably serious and not in costume to perform like a monkey for the demented ringmaster.

Check out the picture of how a guest to the people’s house is rudely mocked to reporters by its temporary resident.

WHOA !!!
Did Zelensky call JD Vance a 'b**** f***' under his breath during Oval Office attack from Trump's VP?

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky has sparked suggestions he branded US Vice-President JD Vance a 'b****' during their explosive White House row.

Viewers of the televised 45-minute dispute - with US President Donald Trump at the centre - believe he muttered the insult under his breath.

Mr Zelensky is said to have uttered 'Suka, blyat' in response to Mr Vance criticising him for an alleged lack of respect, during Friday evening's confrontation.
....
The slang phrase, also spelled as 'cyka', is variously said to translate in English as 'son of a b****', 'b**** f***', 'f***ing hell' or 'f*** you, b****'.

The Ukrainian president was seen crossing his arms in dismay as both Mr Trump and Mr Vance laid into him, before Mr Zelensky was sent on his way from the Washington DC summit sooner than scheduled.

Respectfully, he's asking for military vehicles and air support, addition to listed above.

“There are claims that during one of Vance’s rants, Zelensky muttered “suka, blyad’” under his breath, words that mean “***ch” and “w****” in Russian/Ukrainian obscene slang. But the authenticity of the enhanced audio cannot be verified; moreover, in context these words would have been an impersonal expletive similar to “***k it” rather than personal slurs against Vance.

cyka blyat

Alternative forms

  1. (Internet slang, vulgar, offensive) Son of a ****h, ****ing hell: an expression of disappointment or anger.
