I agree. I would go so far as to say the DA would be unethical to do so if he had enough to convict on actual involvement. That’s why I’m so sure it just isn’t there.
It happens. It’s happened with murders that involved multiple defendants. We don’t even have that here; I don’t believe this particular DA would offer that to her if they had enough to charge her with the murder or to charge them both with conspiracy.
But we have seen murders with four...
I know it’s frustrating, but don’t give up on this case yet.
KK is not a co-conspirator. Legally, that requires her to have accepted his solicitation and for them to have planned the crime together, and at least one of them to have taken a solid step towards the plan. We know this didn’t...
The thread closed before I could hop back on. I think there were some questions from @SandyQLS @MyBelle @Jessthinkin @BUF @gliving sorry if I missed anyone else.
Idk how they know the robbery happened in the home, but they must have some level of certainty of that, because they believe she was...
He isn't going to be convicted twice for the same murder. I think they probably do too, but you said earlier the robbery was a separate charge which is why I replied that it wasn't.
If there was a robbery inside or outside the Safeway, then felony murder with a robbery qualifier wouldn't be on...
That is correct. If you are found to have lied, the deal is off.
Also, I have little doubt KK hasn't spoken with the DA. I know that as a DA I would have personally been part of several conversations in what appears to have been a several weeks long plea negotiation.
Edited for grammar
Correct. It is an underlying theory for the felony murder charge. It is not a separate charge. Felony murder by definition requires a qualifying underlying felony. He can't be convicted of robbery separately though.
Yes. In fact, the majority of criminal cases never reach the trial stage. Pleas are VERY common.
I keep seeing (NOT on this board, but elsewhere) comments to the effect of, "Some cases take years to get the evidence, they should just take their time and put him away without her help, and then...
I'm truly not certain KK is trying to "leverage" anything. Her attorney is just doing her job, as she should be. Obviously if she is taking a deal, she is paying for it by testifying for the state. So clearly, she is going to be absolutely DESTROYED by PF's defense. Her attorney is just ensuring...
What this quote means is that everyone the prosecution intends to call is subject to impeachment because everything every witness has been told is different from what every other witness has been told (according to the defense) and there's no way they can all be telling an accurate version...
Looking at this request for discovery alone, without the rumors of her entering a plea on 2/8, it might appear they’re preparing for trial on the charge. But I think it’s more likely her attorney is just fulfilling her right to discovery. She is very obviously going to be a prosecution witness...
I really just needed to take a break for the day. I'm back. I'm used to the vitriol, honestly. People in this country do not like law enforcement and unfortunately DAs fall into that category.
There are bad/lazy/corrupt people in every profession. We don't stop going to church because some...
Generalizing an entire profession isn’t wrong? Do you know all the DAs in the US? Does she? Such a toxic anti-LE theme in this thread today. I’m exiting left.
