Now, that would be interesting. Because I don't see the families of the victims agreeing with this. Not that they would have any actual input if there was a plea deal.

But I am pretty sure that some members of the victims families, would be more than happy to do a full tour with any news show who wanted to meet with "him".
Generally, victim's families ARE consulted when the prosecution is offering a plea deal.

Seeing the mention of Costco and his visit there on that Sunday in the Self Authentication of Records filing from today reminded me of something I saw in one of the previous fillings we got this month...and now I can't remember which one it was in...

There was a line in a filing this month stating that when BK went to the Costco at 11:59 am that Sunday, he tried to go in but was turned away for not having a card (it wasn't specified if that meant that he didn't have a membership or if it meant that he did but had forgotten his card). Either way, it just stuck out as a bit odd.

Does anyone remember which filing or group of filings it was in? I'm pretty sure it wasn't in any of the ones from the last 3 days.

Found it. Go figure. It was from one of the batches on the 19th.

D Reply to MIL, Nowlin, touch DNA

Comes now AT wants to show that the DNA expert is not QUALIFIED to opine on how the touch DNA might have gotten where it was found.

A kindergartener could opine that touch DNA on a touch snap that the sheath user would touch might have gotten there when the sheath user touched it.

It's not a leap, AT.

State's Reply to D MIL, Neuropsychological and Psychiatric Evidence.

AT tried to overstate what her own Expert said! BK, too clumsy and too slow to commit these crimes. Mr. Nightrunner, Mr. Nightdriver, Mr. Stargazer and StarPhotograprher has fine motor challenges

Struggles to tie his shoes.

Walmart purchase records and surveillance footage, Target, Winco, and a few more.
Were those purchases used in the crime?

And yet, somehow, miraculously, he was able to summon up those fine motor skills to separate his trash piecemeal into little goody bags to throw into the neighbor’s garbage, rather than clumsily relying on his gross motor skills to hoist his garbage all at once into his own family’s bin.

Good old fine motor skills——there when you need them, absent when you don’t.

Apparently.

Not all of those were his--many were for the victims. There was also Ulta, a pet store, etc.

Many of things not being used were bank records for the victims as well as incidental stores like those above. His, however, are definitely being used.

BK has been wearing shoes with laces in court. Who has been tying his shoes?!

Idaho prosecutors asked a judge to reject, at least partially, student murder suspect Bryan Kohberger’s request to give his family priority seating at his upcoming trial — arguing in part that relatives may be called as witnesses.

Deputy Latah County Prosecutor Ashley Jennings wrote in a court filing asking Judge Steven Hippler to exclude any potential witnesses in Kohberger's family from attending the trial prior to giving their own testimony.

"The State may call member(s) of the Kohberger family to testify at trial," she wrote. "Prior to start of the trial, the State anticipates it will motion the Court, or the Court will on its own accord, generally exclude testifying witnesses from the courtroom so that they cannot hear other witnesses’ testimony."

Yes one of the most famous/infamous was monster Chris Watts’s case, who killed his beautiful wife Shanann, who was pregnant at the time, and their two sweet little toddler girls, Bella and CeCe.
The Colorado DA Michael Rourke wanted/charged the death penalty for Chris and consulted with Shanann’s parents who said no, they wanted him to serve LWOP.
DA Rourke honored Shanann’s parents wishes and CW is serving LWOP.

I remember Shanann’s Mom and Dad’s victim impact statements at the monster’s sentencing, absolutely heartwrenching. :(

It takes far more fine motor skills to tie a shoe than it does to plunge a foot long knife with a hilt and 7-inch sharp blade into the chest or neck of a sleeping or otherwise incapacitated and unsuspecting person. JMO

I just wonder if he knew. I think he probably just got very lucky with the timing, as if he did know then I think he waits, or does it another night. He doesn't want people up and moving around. He expects them to be in their beds.

So Xana retrieves that food at say 4, heads back to her room, and he's coming in the back door like 5 minutes later. This could have been very different had that food come just a couple minutes later.

She runs into him as she's heading back to her room, screams, and it changes everything.

<modsnip> These are not high paying positions. I wonder where they would get the money to come across the country, stay in hotels, food, expenses, to actually attend BK's trial, for the entire time?!

That is a huge chunk of money. I really don't see how they could afford it, unless they mortgage their home, not the smartest thing to do at retirement age.
