If your judge crush is a tie between Judge Hippler and Judge Newman, maybe you need Judge Judge to judge which judge judges better before you judge judges for yourself.

It is a gift to justice that thos Judge is on this case. As much as I despise BK for what he's done, he's entitled to a fair trial, and Judge Hippler is laser focused, determined to see that he does.

And that counsel behave like officers of the court.

Great post! Totally agree. MOO.

I also think we are seeing “good judging” from Judge Stephen Everett in Tallahassee (Dan Markel murder). Love to watch and listen to these brilliant minds. Fascinating to me. MOO.

I’m not understanding this. Is it dealing with stuff left over from Judge Judge days?
Not sure, but there are sealed motions that need to be dealt with, to include the jury instructions, and the psychological testing the state wants done.

I agree good grief. I don't believe DM's testimony will be impeached though, I think it will be substantiated by texts and phone movement. A big ole' nail in the coffin with all the other evidence the State has.

I also think seeing her on the stand will help the jury to "visualize" the victims. She will in some way represent what they *should* look like now instead of being in the ground.

So, I’ve lost track, has it been decided if this trial will be televised? Or will that be determined closer to the trial date?

And she is a living witness to the horror of that night. She will never be who she was before, and is a reminder of everything lost.

That. Stare. FREAKS. ME. OUT.
Wasn't there an early report of him unnerving coeds by staring at them across a sea of students in the cafeteria?

She will be what she is, a fragile young adult, that was just wanting to fit in - and was thrust into an unimaginable nightmare.

This trial can’t come quick enough.

I have a theory (speculation of course).

As an anxious person who gets frequent UberEats (more than I should, probably), if I pick up an order and ~10 minutes later see my front door open, I’m assuming my driver’s come inside. This may be paranoid, but in XK’s mind the last person she saw at that door was her driver. Perhaps she thinks it’s a robbery or something’s gone wrong. Either way I think she has an “off” feeling about it.

Assuming she doesn’t know DM is awake - who is she directing “someone’s here” at? In my opinion, EC. And I think she’s speaking to EC loudly, because she’s concerned. This would absolutely be my first call if I was worried about an intruder, even a seemingly harmless one. Immediately wake my boyfriend up. If EC was indeed asleep, I think she says this loudly and worriedly.

I live with 4 other people, each young people with their own rooms, and I wouldn’t feel any less scared if I thought someone had broken into my home - especially if I was the only one awake. IMO, she calls EC out of panic. Maybe not full-blown panic, but she’s certainly confused.

THIS, IMO, is what makes BK hurry downstairs - not only is someone talking, she’s talking loud enough for him to hear her. This leads me to the “crying in bathroom” testimony from DM - are we 100% sure XK isn’t found in the bathroom? From what I remember (forgive me if I’m wrong, it’s 4.00am in UK right now), the PCA states he sees XK “as he approaches the room.” Does this go further to state she’s IN the room?

I just think that if XK was indeed found in the bathroom, this would explain the details on the 911 call, like not being able to get the door open despite SG saying their BEDROOM doors were open.

Again, it’s super late, correct me if I’m wrong on any of these details. Thought it was really interesting that DM heard crying from the bathroom, specifically.

All JMO.

Re: the crying in the bathroom --

You know how in some houses, air vents sometimes allow you to clearly sounds from another, specific room? I wonder if there was some kind of connection/routing of the vents where DM knew that she could hear the bathroom on the same floor (maybe better than she could hear noises from other rooms in the house)? I keep wondering if this is how she "knew" that she heard something coming from the bathroom? Just speculation & MOO.

I don't think it's that complicated. Much as the 'someone's here' she thought she heard from Kaylee, the bathroom thing is probably what she thought when they were fighting next to (or in) Xana's room. The bathroom was right next to Xana's room so the sound coming from there would have felt like they did from the bathroom as well

Yeah, you could definitely FEEL an open door even without seeing it at that time of year in Idaho. It's entirely possible that XK felt the cold air while bringing leftovers to the fridge or something and said, "IS someone here?" (misheard by half-asleep DM) before being overtaken by BK and chased back to her room. I definitely think the slider was his point of entry/exit.

Hippler is fine. He’s exactly what this case needed.
That said, just judging judges on judging and not dreamyness, Judge Newman from the Murdaugh trial is still my favorite judge. I don’t want to marry him, my husband probably wouldn’t like that, but I do plan on naming our next dog Judge Newman and calling him “Judge”.

“Brang in the jury!”

Edit: can’t spell
Same, had a mad Judge crush on Judge Newman.

She will have so much survivor guilt the rest of her life. She will always wonder what she could have done. So very sad.

That is so true-- that trauma will never leave her---

I hope she realizes, or can come to realize, that there is nothing she could have done to save any of her friend. But in seeing and hearing the things that she did, that dreadful morning, and by relating it to LE, and by her testimony in the upcoming trial, she may have a big part in saving someone else. I think she is still alive for a purpose. That purpose may be to put the monster BK away for life. JMO
