I don't think there's been clarification on that stain since the DM posted the pictures.

I personally think it is blood.

MOO
I still think it may not be. Unless the house was so poorly remodeled that the floor markedly slopes, and there was no baseboard, or one there but installed carelessly. And I wonder about the quantity of blood it would take to produce a stain that large. The body would have been on a sharp downward angle to drain that much.

Horrible discussion, I know. Just my thoughts from when I first saw the crime reports develop. I am still catching up. It was mentioned as a fact on one of the programs linked to recently which is why I asked.

Also...imo the blood stain, if that, was too red.

He's free to confess at any point.

And under whatever terms he likes.

And the State is free to accept, reject or negotiate it.

4 LWOP, no DP, no appeal could be one plea the State might consider. And families might accept (not that they are the deciders but surely their positions would be weighed) 4 LWOP if it results in immediate justice, no travel and work interruptions and no courtroom exhibition of crime scene photos.

AT knows the discovery, all of it, despite what she might say, and 100% as an attorney, she has advised BK of the reality of his defense.

My guess is that the hardliner here is BK himself. You can't reason with someone who doesn't care. So she is left to defend the defenseless in a guilt phasephase. DP sentencing phase.

Why would BK bother with confessing? What would it gain him? That's of value TO HIM?

It's a losing game if you believe his life matters to him. It's a winning strategy, not to confess, if it doesn't matter to him. Winning because he is in full control of continuing to manipulate a lot of people's lives, the center of his own criminal mind universe.

He confesses, he's sentenced to prison, game over.

He's not going to do that. Because he's in it for the game.

JMO

Most defendants crumble when the DP gets up close and personal. When staring right at it. Same with the possibility of getting a long prison sentence. Many plea deals happen days before trial, I was following a case that was starting on a Monday and was stopped with a plea deal the Thursday before.

So BK is no different. He can be just as intimidated by the DP as any other psychopath. Time will tell. I think BK first wants to see if his defense can get the DP tossed out as well as other incriminating evidence such as, well, most of it. Experts, video, online click history, bushy eyebrows, all of DM's testimony.... Etc.... 2 CENTS

Judge denies Bryan Kohberger motions to exclude key DNA evidence from trial

Legal analysis: Kohberger's defense seeks evidence thrown-out

Kohberger defense files motion that may seek to throw out death penalty, citing autism spectrum disorder

The judge in Bryan Kohberger's case decided to admit the 911 call and text messages sent by the surviving roommates in an order filed on Thursday. The defense wants this testimony thrown out.

Defense attorney Anne Taylor, in an objection filed March 17: "To get to BF's bedroom DM passed the front door of the residence. BF was steps from the front door. Neither of them left the house. Neither of them called friends, family or law enforcement for help."

Judge Hippler denied the defense's arguments that pulling and using Kohberger's DNA was a violation of his 4th Amendment rights.

In other motions, the defense sought to have cell phone location data and subsequent warrants used by law enforcement to arrest Kohberger thrown out, but the court found the warrants were lawfully obtained and did not violate Kohberger's rights.

Judge Hippler also denied the defense's motion for a Franks Hearing, which determines if investigators lied or omitted information to obtain warrants.

I can't find any info on today's closed hearing yet. Any locals find anything?

I think this was simply about the psych testing the prosecution wanted performed. I don't anticipate learning anything about it until we see an order.

reposting from March 2025

I think he wants this to go on forever..he enjoys it and will enjoy his future trials too..as someone mentioned here..he will really be into seeing the crime scene photos. reminds me of Jodi Arias begging to see the pictures of Travis at the death scene as she was being interrogated.

you have to think like them...Dennis Rader and Gary Ridgeway were allowed their moments in the sun as a part of their plea...they got to recite the details and make full confessions in front of the court.

oh I believe Bryan wants to play games for as long as he can. mOO

Now, isn't that interesting. I just googled 5-6 articles. They say all the same thing.
If you go back on the threads, there's at least one local that says it really isn't used in the area. Propane, electric, and wood, but not oil. That's more a thing used in the east, but not Idaho.

Wow... here I was ready to believe it.

But it could have been XK's.
Bed could have a waterproof/dust-mite proof cover on it, making it non-absorbent.
Looks like blood to me, and running down along joists and hardy-board, unfortunatley I do think it's likely.

According to what I have read, about half of Moscow's homes are heated with natural gas, about 1/3 use electric. Statewide, about 6 in 100 households use fuel oil, kerosene, or propane for home heating. I would assume that the majority of those would likely be LP gas, which is colorless. Also, FWIW, of all the exterior pics that I have ever seen of 1122 King Road, I do not recall ever seeing an oil tank. The red streaks on the side of the house may or may not have been blood, but I highly doubt they were heating oil. JMO

They did obtain the Arrest and Search Warrants without using the sheath DNA. They actually had enough without DNA. However, I can only assume the GJ had the DNA evidence when they said yes to 4 indictments against him.

The DNA and the Amazon sheath and knife purchases are smoking guns.

2 Cents
It's true that they were able to obtain the warrants without mentioning the DNA, but they never obtain those warrants in the first place unless they have that DNA.

That DNA changed everything, as he was never on their radar prior to that.

You should never believe anything right out of the gate. I just mentioned it because it was something else that might have been possible that someone else mentioned that happened to be red. You see?
😆

I personally have no idea if it was blood, heating oil, colored and scented massage oil, myoglobin, a lava lamp that might have broken, or sparkling red grape juice. I'm sorry if I gave you the impression it was anything other than a possibility mentioned before.

I did a bit of research, as well as asking DH, on how one would seal a house between walls and foundation.

DH indicated "silicone sealant", and told me this product was found in neutral colors, as well as clear. He's never seen red-colored silicone sealant.

I'm enclosing a link from Amazon searching "silicone sealant".

Just my own research; if someone finds different information, please share.

Now that you mention the color, I remember what it looks like to me----it looks like what patio/deck redwood stain looks like if it spills from the can---[don't ask me how I know. 😳 ]

But I don't know how that could or would have happened to seep down an outside wall like that.

It might not be blood.

But fatal injuries happened in the room behind that well, injuries with the potential for tremendous blood loss. Liquid follows the path of least resistance abd it will find one, always, every time.

There are red streaks outside that wall.

Sure, it could be a coincidence.

Not all things are coincidences.

I concede, it could very well be blood. All it needs is gravity and a gap.

JMO
If those streaks were there the day before the murders then they are not blood.

Is there any evidence or are there any claims that they were there prior to Nov 13? I am on the fence, neither convinced that they were blood, nor that they were not. I do find it hard to believe that LE would not have swabbed and tested them, though, if they had any reason to believe that they might have been, But afaik , those streaks have never been addressed, at least publicly, although I do not believe we can draw any inferences from that. Miss Taylor is so freaking desperate: no, lady, the DNA COMES IN---- There is nothing you can do about it, no garbage motions will get it kicked. Live with it.
Oh, the death penalty ain't goin' away-as well as all that other evidence that is keeping you up nights.

She's gumming up the judicial system... deep down she knows all these motions will fail.... but she does them anyway.

She also probably knows she'd got a guilty client who will be convicted and she is throwing everything at the case including the kitchen sink.
