Judge says to keep the jury questionnaires/responses confidential. Counsel will work together on a shared drive. Attorneys eyes only. And investigators. Defendant, only with attorneys present.

Kohberger judge says he received the defense's filing about "alternate perpetrators."He says it will be sealed. He is asking for additional information -- wants more evidence to support the allegations.

It isn’t posted on the Idaho Cases of Interest page. I guess it doesn’t matter since it’s sealed.

Housekeeping right now.

A hearing has been scheduled about the Defense's proffer (method to formally submit evidence) about alternate perpetrators in this case for June 18th at 12:30 pm.

Judge Hippler wants to see more evidence to support the allegations Kohberger's team is making.

I guess I missed something.

BF saw BK naked from her bedroom window?
Just that a car parked on the side of the house would be visible from her window. There is no witness statement we have heard of about her seeing anything.

Sealed hearings to go over questionnaire answers.

Whether to strike them before they're even called in.

Well that’s encouraging, at least (that Judge Hippler doesn’t think AT provided enough evidence.)

Judge is just walking through jury selection, voir dire, dp, etc.

Will be streamed to a larger room in the courthouse, limited seating in the courtroom.

No livestreaming beyond that.

Discussion now is how they will pick Bryan Kohberger's jury. Media bias, what they know about the case, and views on the death penalty will all be important with questioning.

The process of picking a jury will not be live streamed, the judge says. Public will be able to watch in a room inside the courthouse. But that process will not be live streamed.

As awful as the murders were, at least BK didn’t take Maddie away to a second location, like his idol TB did to his first (confirmed) victim. I can’t imagine a worse fate.
Isn't that the truth? All tragic. I'm sure he was trying to cover up what he had done by leaving Karen Sparks, barely hanging on in her bed. I think he was spooked by one of her male roommates and left. Poor Linda Healy wasn't as fortunate.

I think Ted's first victim (I know you said confirmed) was the little girl on his paper route Ann Marie Burr 8 years of age at the time she went missing in 1961.

I wonder if any stories will come out about BK's first attempts to push the envelope so to speak as he was growing up, like the speculation that TB took Ann Marie Burr and the little boy playing cowboy in the woods stabbed by a teenage Gary Ridgeway.

There will be some public access for juror questioning, victims' family members can be present. But it will not be broadcasted. Hippler says he does not want a jurors' identity being streamed and ending up in the hands of internet sleuths.

Hippler intends to use 8 alternates in the jury. 20 jurors total.

Alternates won't be selected until deliberations, selected on a lottery basis.

I thought BTK didn’t like stabbing his victims. Too messy, chaotic.

IMO
He stabbed at least one of his victims. He was all over the place with his means to bind, torture and K$ll his victims.

Just heard the word 'sequestered'.

Did we know that?

During Thursday's hearing, the judge began by laying out how the trial will take shape - and warning both sides that he doesn't want evidence issues to crop up and cause delays to the trial once it is underway.

'I am not a fan of surprises, as you may have figured out by now,' he warned.

In the hearing, the prosecution and defense is going head-to-head over what evidence jurors will be able to see in order to decide the fate of the accused killer.

Among the final pieces of evidence still at play is Kohberger's eerie criminology research paper intricately detailing a fictional crime scene about a woman being stabbed to death at a trailer park.

8:30-3-30, with jury.

Sequestered portion, they'll go later.

Not sure I understand that.

Two seats at the trial will be reserved for the surviving roommates, DM and BF, as victims of the burglary, though Judge Hippler says that he is not sure that they will want to be there, given how they have been treated in the media. He does not mince words, does he?
