Me too. It certainly was a very big deal when they posted the first photo and then the very different other photo. IMO
are you referring to photos or the sketches that have been excluded from the trial? I don't know of any photos aside from the stills taken from the bridge guy video.

Someone up thread claimed that it was stated in opening that the girls were killed with two separate weapons. Is there any source for that?
The attorney said fruitless searches of the area the night before, activity on Libby’s cell phone twelve hours after investigators believe the girls were dead and the complexity of the crime showed the murders would be beyond the ability of one man of modest stature to carry out with two different knives.

this is all i've found so far that mentions two different knives.

I don't think it's a nothingburger. Not at all.

As always, JMO.
You are right. It's actually really huge. The hair was not some random other male wearing a blue jacket who was videoed by Libby and said down the hill. It was a family member of one of the murdered children. That's actually really really huge! It gets rid of the idea that some other dude did it and Abby had his hair in her hand. The hair is not what would solve the crime. So they have to rely on other evidence.

Law enforcement called their search off very early on the 13th, there were no dogs. I’ve seen videos of around that time and there were not that many people out there around that time. Also, say for example they had taken them to RL, it wouldn’t be difficult to take them to that spot unnoticed, also the search was directed downstream the first day and night.

JMO

Crossing the creek never made sense to me. Why would they do that?
What makes less sense is removing the girls from the area, turning the phone off, killing them, and then returning them to very near where they disappeared. While being undetected, leaving no trace evidence that we know of at this point, leaving a bloody crime scene that was apparently indicative of a struggle, and then... turning the phone back on? I'm not sure that scenario is super reasonable when the alternative is them crossing a shallow creek to the site where they were killed.

I also seem to remember when the defense claimed in numerous Franks motions, as well as during the 3 day hearings, that the girls were killed at that location during a ritual sacrifice. Perlmutter testified how symbolic that area was to the sacrifice. They even speculated that there was no blood at the crime scene (even though there was) because the blood had been collected for "future rituals". This theory that they spent many months trying to shoehorn in is wildly at odds with the current theory.

Unfortunately, the jury will not be able to see the complete grasping at straws by the defense... but I have a feeling the defense theory will fall flat anyway because a lot of their claims are going to require a huge suspension of disbelief... plus whatever contradictory evidence the prosecution will show (I am particularly interested in RA's phone activity that day).

All my opinion.

it has been a long time since i read this so it might be wrong but didn't when they released Libby's video with the audio clip "guys, down the hill" didn't the investigators say that the words were clipped together and that it wasn't a whole sentence of him saying "guys, down the hill" but that they had taken two pieces of audio and clipped together. I am just wondering if there will be more audio possibly played for the jury or the full video played and that may be a strong piece of evidence, kind of like how we heard the awful full clip in Letecia's trial where Gannon said "i'm just worried about my burns" at the end of it and nobody ever heard that before. JMO
I agree. All we know from the PCA is the audio/video from Libby's phone is 43 seconds total but not what and the order. JMO

I think they have some confessions, would be very interested to know if any ones with any specific details were pre discovery, but I am of the opinion that his confessions were similar to false confessions suspects make under arduos interrogation, that the stress and pressure and conditions he was living in meant that he was giving his jailers or anybody who would listen what he thought they wanted to hear in the hope that they would help him and ease his psychological breakdown, plus did they increase when he was involuntarily medicated.
I always have other cases that I followed where I learn just what human beings can be made to say if they are psychologically broken down enough and I remember Kevin Fox being convinced by LE that he had done horrendous things to his daughter before he killed her, only to recant once he was out of the pressured conditions of his interrogation, he still spent time in jail until DNA exonerated him, so I do think RA has confessed and confessed many times but I also think he did so under extenuating circumstances.

Yeah, it's kid's stuff, and these are adults, professionals. It's the kid on the naughty step lifting everything but the tiniest bit of his butt off. It's the kid encroaching into his sibling's space but not quite touching them. You tell kids off, rightly, for that nonsense, and they know exactly why.

MOO
Better to ask forgiveness, than permission. IMO

#RichardAllenTrial Update McLeland gave about a 20 minute opening statement after experiencing tech difficulties with the large monitor in the courtroom. Tough way to start when nerves are already at an all time high. He was followed by Baldwin, whose opening lasted approximately an hour. Nothing new was revealed in State’s opening and quit a bit of interesting info was relayed in Defense opening. Remember, openings are not evidence. One thing is clear, Becky Blair is going to be a critical witness for the defense. She was on the trails that day at the same time the girls were. The timeline is being attacked by the defense. Becky Patty, Libby’s grandma was the first witness for the State. Her testimony was heartbreaking. She’s a very strong woman. Lunch Break from 12:25 to 1:30.#RichardAllen #DelphiTrial #Delphi
