If it goes in your favour, maybe. They got their memory cards wiped and got blacklisted.Better to ask forgiveness, than permission. IMO
They fooled around and found out.

^BBMBaldwin also pointed to phone data earlier in the day and said that the jury will see the full “Down the Hill” video and the defense believes the jury will see that the man in the video…— Donnie Burgess (@localguydonnie) October 18, 2024 …doesn’t appear to be the one saying “down the hill” and perhaps others were waiting for the girls down below the bridge.
So sad, poor Becky and family.
Ok, I had assumed it was animal hair or belonging to a female, based on the fact that the defense never mentioned this earlier.
I really can't imagine they'd concede something that big to the prosecution. I think this is just an attempt to throw mud at the wall and see what sticks.^BBM
Has defense said that Richard Allen is NOT bridge guy? That sentence is almost indicating they plan to say there was another person - not BG - whose voice is saying DTH.
Wondering if defense is going to admit RA is BG, but then claim he didn’t order them down the hill, thus, not the killer.

^rsbmthink the hair is a nothing burger (it is a female hair of a relative of Libby)
Well, why change strategies now! That's been the game the whole time.I really can't imagine they'd concede something that big to the prosecution. I think this is just an attempt to throw mud at the wall and see what sticks.
rsbmBut RA said that he left at 3:30 originally and later stated, nahhh it was 1:30 instead.
It sounds more like "RA wasn't even there at that time, but if he was there, he wasn't even on the bridge, but if he was on the bridge, he didn't even tell them to go down the hill, but if he did tell them to go down the hill, we don't even know that they actually went down the hill!"^BBM

Perhaps they telegraphed it to get a feel for it's reception on social media - a test of how the jury might react to it if presented in trial? Just a thought. Mooo.I would have been surprised if the D hadn't telegraphed that this was their theory for months now.
I don't think it is a plausible theory, but ... yeah. Not surprised.
All MOO
Pushing out a theory to test how people online react to it is a no-no IMO, especially with a gag order in place.Perhaps they telegraphed it to get a feel for it's reception on social media - a test of how the jury might react to it if presented in trial? Just a thought. Mooo.

Just a reminder that we don't know that he said this originally since his conversation with DD was not recorded. As has been discussed many times, we don't know how DD phrased his question to RA. Did he said, "Were you there between the hours of 1:30 and 3:30?" If RA said yes and meant he was there at some point during that time frame, that does not mean he was there from 1:30 to 3:30 exactly/the whole time. If DD asked him, what time did you arrive and what time did you leave and RA said 1:30 and 3:30, that's another story.
We don't know because DD went from memory to write his report, presumably (and got his name wrong). And then did not recognize RA as being "BG" (or didn't speak up if he did....or did speak up and was ignored?) just a few days later when he stood up on stage at the presser.
As always, JMO
I don't see how a juror could NOT think about how their vote may affect them later on really. EG: if I were a juror and wasn't 100% convinced of his guilt, I'd be the holdout on the not guilty because I would really hate to put a man away for life if I weren't sure he was the criminal the State said he was. mooooI don’t believe a juror is supposed to base his or her decision based on how it’s going to affect them personally after the trial. IMO
So the State went with Allen followed them. I wonder if the D will go with they were attacked by some foul character at the other end? MOOO.Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland in his opening statement Friday alleged that Richard Allen forced Abigail “Abby” Williams and Liberty “Libby” German down a hill near the Monon High Bridge trail and killed them.
The girls were hiking along the trail on Feb. 13, 2017, “a nice summer day in the middle of winter,” McLeland told jurors. A little after 2 p.m., the girls reached the famous high bridge. Allen, McLeland alleges, was following them.
He “pulls out a gun and forces them down the hill,” McLeland said, adding that the video that Libby was taking on her phone shut off around this time.

If he had been tipped in by name, one would think that would have made it's way into the Probable Cause, no? I'd have also expected a plea bargain or a guilty from him if he were named and dead to rights the guy.....We don't know that for sure.
LE/ Prosecutors have not shared (Gag order, Integrity of the case) all they know, all the tips called in.
He may have been tipped in multiple times.
We will find out soon !!!!
And I recant my earlier statement, if the D tries to present the 'Group of Men did it' theory, IMO, it is their case to lose, not the Prosecution's.Baldwin says the defense will provide evidence to show the girls were confronted by several people, taken away…

I for one cannot wait to see the evidence they provide to support this assertion
this is all i've found so far that mentions two different knives.
This is the source for hair evidence being female. Not seeing this confirmed elsewhere:^rsbm
Has this been confirmed? Whose hair is it?
