Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #199

For the record the defense didn’t claim that the girls were taken, killed somewhere else and then brought there to dump.

They claimed the girls were taken and then returned there early the next morning at which point they were killed where they were found.

IMO
I have seen the defense theory reported both ways. Brought back, then killed. Killed, then brought back.

"Baldwin laid their foundation, claiming that the girls had to have been killed elsewhere and brought back to the crime scene."

I don't think so, I mean that is just a statement from the defense which has no evidence backing it up that anyone has seen yet. We have seen how the defense seems to operate.
There were two weapons used, one serrated one not, I think it is possible the autopsy may have yielded this evidence, but until we get to that evidence we won't know,
Which again goes to we are reliant on people reporting the facts and thus far hardly anybody who is in court is focussing on this new piece of information

The defense attorney also suggested the girls may have gone up an access road, gotten into another vehicle and were killed elsewhere before being taken back to where their bodies were discovered near Deer Creek.

The defense believes the girls were killed somewhere else and their bodies were returned to the crime scene. They said that searchers saw no bodies or girls clothing in the creek on the night of Feb. 13.

That doesn’t mesh with what is being widely reported…

Just my opinion, but I don't think they are making it up. How would that benefit them moving forward?

As always, JMO.
The defense isn’t going to make a claim in their opening statement that isn’t backed by facts imo

I don't think they're saying something that isn't true. I think they are bending things and making statements that are intended to create doubt that are somewhat misleading. We will see when the solid evidence comes out that there was a group of people lying in wait to abduct Abby and Libby, do something bad to them for hours, or perhaps nothing bad to them, maybe just hang out with them for hours like the Jesse James Hollywood case and then take them back to the crime scene and murder them. We will see when the autopsy report shows that two different knives were used and neither can be tied to RA. They took several knives from his house in the search. But he does have pockets and does have two hands. There is no reason, unless they can show that those two knives are unrelated to RA that he couldn't have used two knives in the commission of this crime. We will see when we hear testimony that the results of the testing done on all the items taken from RA's home and car show that no incriminating DNA was found in his car or house and that absolutely no forensic evidence tying him to these girls was found in their search.

Property searched Oct. 13. Detained Oct. 26. Arrested Oct. 28. They found something. They ran DNA. They matched RA. Once the results came back they arrested him. IMO. JMO.

(also JMO they got touch DNA off the unspent bullet)

We don't know because almost no information has been released in this case. So these are just my opinions of what we will see going forward.

"The defense told jurors they believe the girls were killed somewhere else and their bodies were returned to the crime scene — that searchers saw no bodies or girl’s clothing in the creek on the night of Feb. 13, and witnesses near the crime scene also never heard any screams."

...that's... so shockingly easy to disprove, I am just scratching my head over here like... Surely a reporter must have misheard?

Or did these hypothetical perps also bring a whole load of blood with them and spilled it over the earth before placing the poor girls on there? (See Cicero's blood evidence testimony, and common sense, IMO)

I am in disbelief.

All MOO

In my opinion there is much evidence to come. Take bullets for example. Indeed, a firearm's extractor, which is a claw shaped steel piece that grabs the casing, and it's ejector, which actually forces the casing out of the firearm, both put marks on a casing. You can google and look at pictures for examples. And the firing pin also hits the primer at the bottom of the casing and leaves a ding there too.

The other things are this....Winchester Supreme Elite ammo is kind of specific, and analysis could be done on the bullet found at the scene, and compared to the bullets in the magazines at RA's home, detailed to possibly even include type of powder and number of grains used per round....possibly even prove the bullet at the scene came from the same box as the bullets retrieved in the search.

Often a box of hollow point concealed carry ammo will hold 20 rounds, so I expect, and yeah, it's speculative, an argument might ensue thusly...9 rounds in one mag, 8 rounds in another mag, one round snatched from a box on a dresser, one round in the gun, and the final round at the scene = 20. Check out the first page of the linky :)

"Sealed plastic bag containing two magazines, one filled with nine .40 caiiber cartridges and one with eight.40 caiiber cartridges."

"Sealed plastic bag containing one .40 caliber S&W cartridge found inside Sig Sauer P226 handgun"

"Sealed piastic bag containing one .40 caiiber S&W cartridge found in wooden keepsake box ondresser between both closets in master bedroom."

"Sealed paper bag containing one Winchester Supreme Elite empty ammo box."

Plus the bullet found at the scene.

One person can easily carry two bladed instruments and a handgun on his person.

That very well could have been information held back by LE that RA may have confessed to, a boxcutter and, say, a more ornamental knife.

JMO
And that’s going to be the important part of his confessions. Anything he said that corroborates evidence that was not released to the public.

Are you saying they have a DNA match to Richard Allen? I hadn't heard this.
