I hope the ABC has live coverage of the pre-sentencing hearings.

Do you see it in the above attachment screenshot, in her right hand? Click on the picture and increase the size maybe.

It might appear to be part of her bag at first but it's not because it's in her hand as she swings her arm in the video.
Just to clarify, I didn't doubt you - I was on my phone and can't see things without reading glasses on - but I've just put it on my computer and it is very clear she is carrying something black and rectangular looking. It is also not in her hand when she exits the toilet door, like you said - her keys are in that hand.

I am wondering, however, why she didn't dispose of it in the outside bins.

Taking advantage of no cameras inside the restroom?

Yeah probably, but it would have looked less suspicious if she dumped whatever it was in the outside bins, IMO.

Perhaps she thought someone could fish it back out, whereas no one would touch the contents of toilet bins.

I'm not going to be able to rest until I know what it is now! 😂

What it can't be, IMO:

1. USB stick (it's too large)
2. Sunglasses (too symmetrical / rectangular)
3. Doggy do-do bag (not even close)
4. Purse (no, too small/hard edges)
5. Phone (Looks too small to be a phone)

Could it be an external hard drive like this?

I think we can rule out no.3, she puts her hand right up to her face with it.

Yeah, plus, I don't think black rectangular doggy bags exist 😂

Minus Rachael please.

People are defending her now saying she couldn't disclose the pre-trial hearing evidence and was trying to be impartial. Please. She was completely team Erin! IMO

Maybe something rectangular she stashed inside a black doggy bag. Like her leftover store of DC powder.

Didn’t we hear that the door at this fuel station led to a hallway / corridor which had access to the actual bathrooms. From this I mean wasn’t it assumed she didn’t have time to even go into the bathroom. I wonder if there was a garbage bin in the corridor.

Yeah or she went in there, stashed it back in her bag, and exited. IMO

With a literal interpretation you must focus on the words exactly. She did not say “not intentionally” she said “intentionally” which means “with intention.”

“If he’d come I would have given him a beef Wellington too, yes, but not one with death cap mushrooms in it intentionally,”
Her position has been that the poisoning of her guests was an accident.

* She said she bought mushrooms from an Asian grocer, which she stored in a Tupperware container due to their strong smell when she went to use them in a previous dish.
* She also said she purchased mushrooms from Woolworths, which she used in the cooking of the BW for the fateful lunch
* She explained that in the process of that cooking, she tasted ‘something’ and found it a bit bland - so she added some of the mushrooms that were stored in the Tupperware Container (am presuming she must’ve been satisfied by her dose quantity as she didn’t report a further ‘tasting’ to check )
* She has agreed that the meal contained DC - hard to argue with the toxicology results imo
However at no stage has she stated that their inclusion was ‘intentional’ on her part ( nor has she apologised for her part, ‘ accidental’ or otherwise, in the horrendous, life-taking and life-altering illnesses that her guests endured as a result of that lunch. )

Therefore, I see her comment about the Beef Wellington that she prepared and would have given Simon to be her con-fluted and arrogant way of saying that it would have been the same as the BWs prepared & given to the other 4 guests - because the poison mushrooms in them was not there ‘intentionally’ either.

Some people will never admit their errors or failings, and never apologise, no matter what, as it’s psychologically threatening ! It makes them vulnerable . Instead, they double down on their ‘wrongness’ by denying the facts, blaming circumstances or attacking others, in order to make themselves feel empowered as opposed to feeling diminished.

It’s my belief that Erin falls into that category.

She’s in some uncharted waters, because she’s not used to things not going her way. Despite all her meticulous researching & planning, the lunch didn’t go as she expected - Ian survived and, worst of all, Simon is still around.
I doubt she will ever stop fighting the Guilty verdict, because to accept it means admitting she failed.

That's what I first thought when I saw it. A small one, about the size of an old iPod. She seemed to spend a lot of time in the car before finally getting out and slamming the door.

Could be a small solid state drive containing incriminating poison photos or downloaded research files

Her strategy seems to be multiple disposal sites. Each one seemingly inconspicuous but the timing is everything but.

External hard drive, that's compelling.

Something in an actual poo poo bag. The remaining toxin? Sort of double bagged. To go out of this world in the same way as soiled feminine products, slated to decompose a hundred years from now.

One thing EP forgot to do, to further her narrative that she added DC mushrooms unaware (when confronted at the hospital), was to voice worry that she could have poisoned herself in the mere "accidental" handling off them or that any leftover DCs or residual toxin at her home could "accidentally" poison her children or dog still.
Did she use up all the dehydrated DCs in the BWs? Or did she have more, which she needed to rid herself of?

Would she dispose of hard drive in a way that someone could find her information on it? Wouldn't she destroy it to prevent everything that? Pulverize it? Immerse it? Not very flushable, I wouldn't think.

Too, too bad it was too late to recover it.

Good catch, everyone.

Dear packets,
I'm tempted to ask 'what flavour?', but I won't 'cause I suspect the answer will be 🍄, sigh, moving right along - your project has a (spiritual) sister in America who also has a 'deep' relationship with 'intentional/intentionally' - LOL!
& not surprisingly - she also talked herself into a GUILTY (life sentence), bloody marvellous!

The day after the lunch, Erin Patterson stopped at a petrol station on the way to Tyabb for a flying lesson. She told the trial she used a nine-second toilet stop to dispose of soiled tissues in the BP Caldermeade bathrooms.
So we can rule out soiled tissues because everything Erin says is a lie. IMO
