CANADA Canada - Darius Macdougall, 5, Crowsnest Pass, Alberta,Canada 21 Sept 2025

This is the same info I posted on Gus's thread:

There are anti-lost GPS bracelets for kids:
waterproof & shockproof GPS tracker ones compatible with air tag Band.

In fact,
there are many kinds of GPS locators to choose from:
bracelets, pendants, tags, even rings, etc.
One can Google and see them.

The safety of children is the most important.
They are totally dependent on adults, their carers.

JMO

GPS locators require a way to send data to a server. I'm not sure how useful, if at all, they would be in remote areas.

"GPS trackers receive signals from satellites in constant orbit around the Earth.
These signals are accessible virtually anywhere on the planet."

There is mention of a bible camp being used as a rest area for searching....fwiw. That's the only mention of a bible camp i can recall.

Snipped...
...When asked how the public could support crews on the ground, Slaney said responders have already received assistance from the Salvation Army, which has been providing food, and a nearby Bible camp offering rest areas.

ETA: and these are the only times Bible camp has been mentioned in discussion in this/his thread

This is very sad. The 6-yo girl who was with Darius when he went missing, the daughter of his father's girlfriend, has died. His family released a statement today.

Now this is really strange. Darius disappeared from an island in a creek within view of adults? The previous story was the 5 or 6 other children returned to the camp without him after going on a walk together. They now say SAR was there within 20 minutes but previous reports said family members searched for an hour before calling 911. Changing stories is a reason the RCMP might want to have a closer look.

Additional details here:
“The family shared the statement on Tuesday. through the “Bring Darius Macdougall home” Facebook page……

…..The post says the family was packing up their campsite on Tuesday, Sept. 21, as they prepared to leave.

“The kids were playing on the island adjacent the camp, just across a creek where the adults could see them,” reads the post.

“Darius, Kya and [an] unnamed cousin were walking/playing together with other kids close by when Darius went missing. They turned their backs and Darius was gone.”

This is incredibly sad. What could've happened? Was little Kya sick before? How does one recover from 2 such tragedies?

It seems Kya was asthmatic and had an anaphylactic episode while horse riding

...The family of missing six-year-old Darius Macdougall say he was playing with two other children on an island across a creek from where the family was camping at Livingstone Crown Land Campground. Darius disappeared after the two kids looked away.

I don’t understand. If Darius disappeared from an island wouldn’t downstream of that same creek have been the logical area to focus the search? I don’t even recall the name of any specific creek mentioned during those 11 days when searchers were combing dangerous ground including cliffs and ravines.

The river running through the Livingstone Public Land Use Zone is Livingstone River, a cold-water river in southwestern Alberta that flows into Oldman River.

I know it's not allowed so I won't even attempt but there's a fbk group called Bring Darius Home which is run (and heavily monitored) by family and dear friends and at least twice a day there are posts detailing which area was searched today, both by the official SAR and (now it's allowed) by very experienced locals who show maps and pinpoint particular areas that they have covered. I'm sure you'd be able to find your information on there, I just can't bring it here for you!

I wasn't following this case totally closely at the time Darius went missing, but this is the first I realised that he and the other children were on an island when he went missing. My first thought would have been that he'd fallen into the creek and gone under. But I guess his family and searchers had their reasons to not suspect that and they were after all on the ground, which I was not and am not.

Jeepers. Kya's father died 18 months ago. So sad.

Thanks but I’m not interested in reviewing the areas searched. What I’m referring to is the media reports. The RCMP gave the public a public update virtually every day and an intensive creek or river search was never a key focus.

If you haven’t been following this missing persons case, this is why everyone thought Darius was lost in the woods:

Darius Macdougall, who has autism, was reported missing Sept. 21 after he didn't return from a walk with six young relatives in the Crowsnest Pass area, where the family from Lethbridge, Alta., had been camping.”

What makes you think I haven't been following the case?
I was passing you some useful information and a source for the information you sought!?

I agree and I think the story changed. At least it has for what we are hearing. I’m still not convinced there wasn’t an accident or negligence here.

In retrospect, that would mean Darius went on a walk with his other young relatives to the island in the river. RCMP didn't misreport anything, it's just the presentation of facts didn't lead any of us to think water was involved. So what? We're sleuthers online. Those on the ground will have other means to find out more details and to know where to search exactly. I imagine that downstream was searched even if that was never confirmed on here. MOO
If you check the fbk group now, you'll see there are searches going on in the waterways. IMO they don't need us keyboard warriors, they know what they're doing. No offence intended.
