Crikey I just paid a bit more attention to this pic....

Imo and JMO
Hasn't the most recent information (given by the family who were camping) been (along the lines of).. we were packing up the cars to leave and Darius was playing WITHIN OUR SIGHT on the island with others..

How can the big red circle "general last point seen" be in anyone's sightline?

If anyone who doesn't have fbk would like me to check the approved page for further information please just tag me and I'll do my best!
I'm not on fbk but because this particular page is public - to get the information out presumably - I can read it and so can presumably anybody else who is not on fbk.

I really appreciate the screen shots though.
Big island, far bigger than I imagined.

That's fantastic that those without fbk can find and read details from this particular group!
I've just cut and pasted this from the main page creator so I'll post it here anyway so all of you can go and look at the videos and pictures contained within this post and read the comments:

"** Updated statement with suggestions/clarification of details and photos**

The family went camping arriving at the Livingston Crown land Campground September 19th, 2025. They arrived later in the afternoon. This was not they're first time camping in the area so they were comfortable with the surroundings and allowing the children to play on the "island" pictured.

There was the Grandfather, Grandmother, Aunties, Uncles, and cousins present to celebrate a few birthdays in the family. Darius was present with his father and his girlfriend.

The mother, Maegan, was not present, but has been present in the investigation and cooperating with RCMP.

The events that follow are from the family.

The family was packing up to get ready to leave the morning of September 21st, 2025. The kids were playing on the island adjacent the the camp just across a creek where the adults could see them.

Darius, Kya and a unnamed cousin were walking/playing together with other kids close by on the "island" when Darius went missing. The adults from camp could not see last point seen, but they had not noticed the group of 3 kids slip away from sight.

The 2 kids turned their backs while playing and when they turned back Darius was gone.

The 2 kids immediately notified camp and the father and grandfather took off in opposite directions looking for Darius, while the Grandmother called 911. Search and rescue were setting up within 20 minutes.
We searched long into the night the first day hoping for a quick resolve to a very scary incident.

The family had searched tirelessly and with extreme effort often going until they physically couldn't go any longer. We worked side by side with SAR eliminating each section of the map.

Maegan came up to the mountain as well and was working with RCMP at all times.

Everyone is cooperating and working with the RCMP at all times.

***PLEASE READ BELOW**

Some facts provided are included collecting facts from children. Professionals are handling the details with speaking with the children as their mental well-being is of the utmost importance.

Due to the privacy the family was requesting we did not correct certain details or comment as we always wanted the focus to remain on Darius. We did not want the public to turn our beautiful boy into a sensational story, but here we are.

We have all seen what has been posted, but the family on all sides is 100% working with proper authorities to bring Darius home.

We understand the general publics opinion is that he was not "properly" supervised. It is easy to find something or someone to blame so we can feel safe ourselves. "We would never"

But we all have. We have all felt comfortable enough that we could be in this same situation.

Unfortunately it is the family that wishes the most out of everyone that they could go back and do it all over again.

Watch him closer. Hug him tighter. Love him longer.

But judgements or speculation towards the family does not bring him home.

We are asking the community to come together to support Darius.

I have added updated photos from first point of view and multiple maps to help the public understand the area. We understand everyone will have their opinions on what was appropriate, but again this doesn't bring Darius back.

Thank you to a wonderful member that assisted with providing these videos.

We are happy to answer any further questions as long as they remain focused on the search and respectful to Darius and the Family.

Please read what the family wrote above, quoted by @AcerPacer This is exactly the type of comment they are asking the public to refrain from. It does not help find their child!

It certainly can serve as a warning to other parents. Crocs are slippery, do not provide any stability and easily fall off. This is the least appropriate footwear for mountain hike, even for an adult. And Darius is autistic, according to the family, which means that most probably has balance problems. Crocs do not help with that, crocs make it infinitely worse, I know it as an autist with balance issues myself.

I'm not saying none of that is the case but this thread and the fbk page are about bringing Darius home, not warning others. Anyway, at the time Darius went missing he wasn't on a mountain hike.
