I was responding to this comment - “But this stepdad has two missing step kids he didn't even see or hear on the day they were reported missing.”

The mother of these two children should not be absolved of all responsibility of parenting just so the step father can be looked upon with suspicion.
Yes, I understand what you're saying.... and was agreeing, sorry if I didn't clarify my comment.

This is an odd vanishing no matter how I try to consider the possibilities.
IF they drifted back to sleep, or didn't wake until 10 am, with such young kids, that's what made it seem strange to me.
Omo.

Apologies if someone has made this point. I need to share this somewhere and this forum seems it might be the best place. While there are lots of issues with the mom/stepdad interviews in this case, it is this line by the mother that truly gives it away for me:
"... they happened to just get out that sliding door and we can't hear it when it opens and they were outside playing but we weren't aware of it at the time and the next thing ..."

The problem here is, this statement reads like that of an omniscient narrator. She didn't know it at the time, and there's no proof of it now (such as cam footage,) so why the revelation?
In my opinion, to state this as a later-realized fact is a clear indicator that this is a story that has been concocted. No one would say this when retelling their actual experience because they never became aware of this, at any time. It's an assumption. From her alleged perspective, the kids could have been taken from the living room. There is ZERO supporting evidence that they were "outside playing."

Two pairs of children’s boots and the little girls backpack are missing.

Everyone feels that that indicates them heading outside.

Strange it took them this long to correct this.

Yes, that’s what I read also.

LE wants to keep everyone apart for now, likely for multiple reasons.

There’s the LAW part, right there, law enforcement.

There has, to my knowledge, been NO accusations against either parent. Nor other adult.

This case is a tragic, missing persons case.

No one has been named as a POI. They are all victims in this case at present.
Agreed.
But he wasn't allowed to see his toddler nor take her home with him, as I understand it.
Standard procedure for now ?
Imo.

Yes, that it would be dirtied to the point it would not longer be bright white.

And it makes me uneasy, too. There'd be no way for him to know if she got dirty if he didn't know where they went.

Could be discarded, like you said. Could be slightly dirty, but mostly still bright. Unfortunately kids often fall in water in which case the bag wouldn't be dirty at all.

Moo
Could be discarded is what I was thinking too! Possibly by the child or by the perp, if there is one!

She is not absolved of responsibility.

The stepdad conversation started because a statement that it was just as likely that the kids were abducted as it would be for him to be a poi.

Additionally, stepdad has chosen to speak to the media more often which gives people something to discuss.

Goodness sakes, if the comment which I made hours ago bothers anyone so much, feel free to report it. It’s not a big deal, the step-father has not been named a POI nor has an abduction been announced to have taken place, so it could be either…..or neither. If we go by what police originally stated, they believe the children wandered off.

I don't think it bothered anyone. It's just a conversation on a forum.

That’s what I remember from reading a previous post as well. I went back through thread #1 and cannot find the post.
I used the search feature and nothing comes up regarding the trash / garbage actual PICK UP in thread #1 or #2, maybe someone removed the info. Dunno.

Yes, that was what I was thinking; it might have been deleted as there was some discussion about “waste”. I need to learn how that search button works as I went through every post . 😬

Yes as long as it is victim friendly. And, indicate it is your opinion in the post.
Well the victims are the babies right? So here goes: obviously this all just my opinion and I sincerely hope I’m wrong but … it doesn’t take two to feed a baby so I’m not buying that they were both in the bedroom feeding her and they kept falling back to sleep. I think there could be others reasons for them being awake one minute and ‘asleep’ the next. I also think that perhaps the two little ones perhaps found some things they shouldn’t have, decided to eat the ‘sweets’ they found and suddenly here we are. School was closed on Wednesday, meaning there were two days for someone to attempt to find their way out of the mess that ensued. All my own opinion of course

That’s good! Each of us here have an opinion, this is still an open investigation so no need to prove opinions right or wrong as long as it complies with WS’s TOS.

If anyone here followed in the past the tragic case of the two young men who went on a brief murder spree in BC and then fled to northern Manitoba, recalling that is a perfect example of how the RCMP do not release much if any information during an active investigation, even though they were on top of things all along.

If my children were missing, and so were their shoes, jumping to, "they were outside playing," includes some unnecessary editorializing when all they know is they've left the house. Don't forget, these kids aren't even allowed to play outside unsupervised in a fenced backyard (lol—yeah.)
As far as she knows, maybe someone knocked lightly and beckoned them out the door. Maybe they went to try and catch the bus. Maybe they went to grandma's. To say, "they were outside playing," is storytelling.

And I also feel there’s a degree of ‘look over there’ from the stepdad. As if he’s trying to almost steer it in one direction and away from other areas that might be of more interest

Yes, I have every confidence they are on top of things.

All sorts of opinions and theories will be floated as we hope for news, I appreciate reading all of them.
