Seen as Maleyha only informed the school at 6.17am is it possible the children thought they were in school that morning and walked to the usual exit and upon seeing no bus ,tried to walk there.

Also if lilly and possibly jack were coughing so bad as to be kept home from school . Why did Daniel bring them to run errands , when Maleyha was home with meadow. If the kids were that sick surely they would have been of low energy and they would not have been a burden on her or too stressful to take care of while Daniel shopped for groceries

The news report does not say ‘Malehya was home with Meadow’. For all we know she could’ve been at the pharmacy or visited another shop while DM got groceries with Jack and Lilly.

This case is just so strange, frustrating and frightening. These adorable siblings cannot have vanished into thin air, and the amount of moving parts here, IMO, exceeds that of other missing-children cases, so what is taking so long to even settle on a directed theory?

Absolutely not knocking LE, never would.

One adult in the homestead talks all the time, and for some reason, I tend to believe him, even when his remarks sometime seem less than cogent. The other adult has gone radio silent and, I want to add, feels like AWOL too. What does she know that makes it acceptable to her to not be at the place where she last knew those children to be?

Video here, polygraphs there, every now and then a tiny revelation without context, all adding up to nothing by way of actionable intelligence, IMO.

Seems so wildly implausible that a predator just happened by that morning and abducted these children, yet nothing makes a child vanish into thin air - for a while, sometimes years - more than someone who snatches them.

Mostly, I can't believe all North American media isn't leading with this story. It's been so long for these kids. Where are they?

This forum is literally the only place I've ever seen any speculation of a big scary dog story.

It annoys me about reporters when they can’t be bothered to interject with any questions. Either that or they’re not familiar to the story to begin with and their only assignment is only to record his exact words.

I have some experience being interviewed by media here in Canada. This seems to be a common approach, when the reporter just listens & taking their notes, with very occasional questions.

What an odd situation all around. The stepfather of the missing children keeps taking to MSM after being told not to, and also has lost custody of his biological children, including the one he shares with the mother of the missing children? Has Jack and Lilly's mom lost custody of the baby she shares with him as well or just him?

I try to refrain from using the words should ,would or could in reference to what parents of missing children are meant or could be to doing or the phrase I would do this or that But I do feel the mum could and probably should put out a new public statement to stop online speculation and rumour online about her involvement at this stage .

Maybe her focus is on finding her children and she couldn't care less about appeasing the publics desire for her to validate her innocence but I do find it weird that a step father is the face of the campaign to find them and not one maternal relative has publicly given any statement.

Does that inadvertently make her look guilty or at least make Daniel look as though she thinks he is capable of harming the children and therefore that's the reason she is having no contact with him and by not putting it in the public domain any updates she knows is keeping him in the dark about potential clues imo it certainly plants the seed of doubt and prehaps she is privy to information that Daniel has not been made aware of by either herself or LE as he is not a blood relative or legal guardian.

I'm unsure if Canada have common law in regards to living arrangements of unmarried couples and them having the same rights as married couples in regard to say inheritance etc . But I don't think common law extends to step children so it would make sense that Daniel wouldn't be as informed as Maleyha in regards to leads and direction in the investigation

And I'm aware LE don't give blow by blow accounts of what stage the investigation is at ,I feel extremely lucky to have gotten the new update from them containing so much info but I'm sure Maleyha will have been given more information than this by a family liason officer

This is my "could've would've should've"........I firmly believe mother should be making a statement to thank search rescues/LE and make a plea for their return. She can do this via a spokesperson, and it could be drafted by a legal team if she needs, but it shows she cares, she is interested, she is thankful (all the normal things a mother would do), but it also keeps those faces out there, it keeps the public talking and interested in finding them. It's like the huge roadside billboard with those sweet faces. It also keeps the SAR engaged.
On the flip side (aka calculating), she might assist in bringing in some financial support for the SAR volunteers, and if she spoke a little from her heart, maybe about the relationship or lack of re partner, it might push him a little onto the edge to slip up and say something??? or tip his hand???
reminder there has been a go fund me for SAR which is all a scam Scam
Maybe there is an alternative reason mother is not making a statement or hasn't been seen??

Certainly does , he is coming across as very genuine in his concern and not being the biological father to both children hasn't seemed to put a reluctance to engage with the media

seen as its precieved/ suspected that Daniel had full custody of two children from a previous relationship. Would that mean that the courts deemed him to be a good father with no history of dv or being a bad influence in his children's lives .And a parent whom could provide stability and good upbringing to the children he was awarded custody of ?

I did see in the CTV article that it referred to an estranged wife I'm assuming it means Maleyha. Maybe a typo on behalf of the journalist ???

It appears many people have a problem with this statement she made. I can chalk it up to a couple of different things:
1. she merely assumed (later) they went outside to play (since they weren't in the house), without realizing at the time that they were outside
2. the statement came after they went missing, and either her or DM saw some of their toys moved or some other indication that they'd actually been outside without them (her and DM) realizing it at the time.

Either way, I have zero doubt LE probed a bit further on what that meant. I'm also fairly confident she explained to them exactly what she meant.

Neither parent has even been named as a POI so I'm curious what evidence leads you to believe one of them will be declared mentally unfit?
