I was just looking at the Wikipedia page and there is a message up top saying " an editor has requested that this page should be removed "

Anyone able to shed any light as to why that might be . I've looked through the piece and I can't find anything in it that I would deem misinformation etc

Not true, don’t know what you’re watching but the video was taken by CBC. See @ 5:35 when she talks about raking and the area she points out not in the driveway.

Curious bit from the article linked:

"A member of Brooks-Murray's extended family is also critical of how the RCMP investigation has played out. Darin Geddes, a cousin of Brooks-Murray's grandmother, said he had been speaking with many members of both families in the weeks following the disappearance and believed he had information that could be pertinent to the investigation, but was brushed off by the Mounties.
"It's not hurt. It's rage. And I'm trying to control it," Geddes said in a recent interview, adding he did eventually track down an officer to take his statement."

LE don't normally "brush off" someone with pertinent info on a missing persons case, so of course now I want to know what information he thought he had that was so important. And why RCMP didn't think it was important enough to listen to him, initially?

She is definitely standing in her driveway when she points the area out.

Yes it’s a gravel area but it’s not the driveway. There are various photos of the yard online, if you notice any indicating that’s the driveway please post your proof.

Same video at 7:10 shows the driveway and where she was going to put the pool.

Another question that is living rent free in my head is : is it unusual that the RMPC were called so soon after the discovery that the children were gone ?

this is an interesting question. does Canada have something similar to an Amber alert, or some other policy that since the children are so young and missing they bring in RCMP? given the terrain maybe RCMP just has more resources?

This allegation of DM responsible is something I can only comprehend as an accusation of indirect responsibility. As the msm articles state he was the one looking , calling etc . He was also in the bedroom with Malehya and Meadow and according to both of their statements they allegedly turned to each other to say " do you / can you / i dont hear the kids and DM leaps into action .

Janie's timeline of hearing the children about 9am and then subsequently hearing DM calling/ shouting for the children and seeing Malehya narrows the window of the disappearance to about 20/ 30 mins . Now this is where the conundrum occurs for me and I suppose with how much weight LE afford to the statement. Do you believe a mother who may be wanting to deflect blame from her son ? Would we do the same , would we believe our adult children whole heartily?

I have no reason to disbelieve janie ( or Daniel.) But the question I ask is what has she got to gain and what has she got to lose ? And the answer to both is her son . So I assume LE would ask the same when evaluating the timeline .

I'm speculating that LE are regarding the independently verified sighting on May the 1st as the only beyond reasonable doubt witness (cctv) that the kids were alive and well then . LE are reviewing the footage they appealed for so they can piece together what happened after and possibly narrow the timeline with proof that can't be picked apart in a court of law or a coroners court should it transpire that the kids are found dead and it is too late to determine cause of death like the Casey Anthony one

Just my opinion and speculating.
I agree with your speculations. Wouldn’t it have been more natural for DM to have called his mother or knocked on her door to see if the kids were with her? Going out into the yard and yelling for them seems like an effort to be made after you had checked your own house, his mothers, and the surrounding property. MOO

So soon? I don’t think we can draw that conclusion as we’ve never been given a firm timeline by the RCMP. I distinctly recall SAR scanner talk being discussed here quite a lot that the children were noticed missing as early as around 8am. If that’s true the couple would be criticized for waiting so long (why, probably the time it took to cover up evidence).

We do have Amber alerts here. Jack and Lilly's mom practically demanded one be issued on day one, but the criteria for it wasn't there.

From the NS RCMP site:

"The Nova Scotia RCMP’s intensive investigation into the disappearance of Lilly and Jack Sullivan continues. The investigative team in the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit is leading the investigational efforts under the Missing Persons Act. They’re assisted by RCMP units in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Ontario, along with the National Centre of Missing Persons, Canadian Centre for Child Protection, and provincial and municipal police agencies from Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada." https://rcmp.ca/en/nova-scotia/news...sappearance-lilly-and-jack-sullivan-continues

RCMP are the police! Wouldn't you phone the police if children went missing? Usually these days people blame parents for not calling the police early enough. MOO Now you're wondering why so early? Help me understand.

So when they arrived home from grocery shopping, they would have pulled the car as close to the house as possible to not have to carry bags as far. Then when they went to move the car further out of the driveway, the kids could have run in front of the vehicle.

We don't know what their "normal" was. If the kids never went into step-gran's trailer then no, it wouldn't have been a natural thing for him.

You can check the Wikipedia discussion on that very topic, it's linked at the top of the L and J Wiki-page. No nefarious or shady reasons that I could see, or reasons that shed light on the case. MOO

Or could have been backed over. This happens, sadly, too often.
I’m not saying I think this happened, but it’s a theory.

Yes @ticya she comes across as somewhat cantankerous and is irritated by the focus of attention on her property. In all honesty it was like a show and tell of how well the property looks and an tiktok Q&A style interview

Plus it showed us that her dog wasn’t responsible for eating the children.

However I do emphasize with her when she talked about her reluctance to go out, even to be visible in her yard. She feels she’s become a subject of the public’s morbid curiosity and she has a right to her own emotions, so I understand why that would frustrate and irritate her. Best thing for her would be to move away but that’s her home and she doesn’t appear very well off financially.

We (Canada) have Amber Alerts. This case lacked the criteria for an Amber Alert. This would include (from above link)
  • The child is under the age of 18;
  • A belief that the child has been abducted;
  • A belief that the child is in grave danger;
  • Information is available that may help locate the child and/or the abductor (e.g., description of the child, the suspect, or the vehicle driven by the abductor); and
  • That the alert be issued within a reasonable amount of time from the moment of the abduction.

IMO, abduction was just one possibility in this case. Even if it was the only possibility, with no suspect to name and describe, and no vehicle, there is no info to include in an Amber Alert.

This is not to say no alert was issued. If I remember correctly, there was a “missing vulnerable persons alert”, something like that. An alert was issued, and included photos and description of the children.

The mobile home in front of the RV where the step-gran was living, in other words the RV is behind which is why at the beginning the RV wasn’t visible in the media pics. The area nearby her RV where she identified she was raking is nowhere near the door of the mobile home. It would be much further to carry bags, not closer. Infact there’s gravel all around each side of her RV.

There’s an illustrative overhead view on the video here -

I just watched her video again and they edited out everything about the pool and her raking.

My new theory is possibly the kids got hit by a car in the driveway by someone in the family and they covered the blood evidence up by removing fence slats and washing away all the blood in the driveway.

Ahh snow melting. I didn't think of that.

I saw the ground where a person had driven off the road and into my neighbour's fence last spring. There were quite long, deep ruts coming from the road as breaks has been applied. The ground would be soft on May 2nd, so I can't imagine a vehicle killing the children and not leaving obvious evidence. That's not something that could be raked out.

I meant from the timeline given by janie as circa 20mins of her hearing the children ,Daniel calling thir names and the around 10 am arrival of RCMP which give a timeline of about 9.00am to 9.50 am when call was made if RCMP arrived at about 10am . This is three quarters of an hour . All I was saying was and I'm not implying it wasn't the right thing to do . Bloody sure it was I just thought it was a short time spent looking and calling by parents before they called

And my question was phrased " is it unusual "? not "it is unusual "
