I recall speculation that the clump of footprints might’ve been left by a child belonging to a local person who assisted on an unofficial search and then perhaps never came forward later. ie told their child to ‘just stand here and wait’! That’s a good reason why police often don’t welcome locals people to help with searches.

Yes I recall this too , thanks for jogging the memory 🤗

I think it was in the initial document dump, iirc the first time MBM called her she missed it because she was in the barn. But I don’t think it’s important enough to go searching for it, she might have retracted what she recalled since what’s told to police is never written in stone. Maybe she later decided she misremembered and it was another day, especially as apparently the two talked everyday.

Just edited my post to add the specific details of that call on Thurs.

The Friday is when the missed the call in the barn and there was also a missed call on the Wednesday, both nothing out of the ordinary and normal in the general scheme of things

Some days I wonder if the public really knows anything for sure at all. 🤨

Oh that’s correct, the missed call and barn was the day the children were reported missing. If would be interesting to know what’s on the call log from both DM and MBMs phones and if the RCMP was the first call made.

Interestingly in the article Cyndy states she last saw her grandchildren at Easter and had an egg hunt and made them dinner .

Why no mention of seeing them on the video call on the Thursday.?

Maybe I'm nitpicking and she just meant in person but in the circumstances surely the last time she seen them alive is what's important in the course of the investigation

If she did not see them on the Thursday over video call that is an important detail as it then leaves the Dollarama footage as the last known sighting outside of mbm and DM and that leaves a lot of time before the rcmp were called at 10.01 am on Friday.

While the article was good in so far as we now know what happened for mbm to end up in the back of an ambulance.

Imo it was more of a Maleyha is innocent fluff piece . And sn account of where , how and what she has being doing since .

If the family feel the children were abducted. How does that tie in with the clumps of prints and the blanket and where and how do they feel they were taken ?

RCMP stated there was no evidence to support that theory so I'm assuming they checked for vehicle activity around the property.

If they were abducted on foot , it must be someone local who knows the trails and with so few homes on landsdowne Road and most occupied by DMs family who do they suspect took them ?

Imo direct or indirect homicide is most likely and if the rcmp can't verify vehicle activity during the night and relatively dismiss the neighbours tips surely they can also attest to no vehicle picking up the kids at the end of the yard
The more we learn about the details of this case, the more odd it seems to be, to put it mildly, IMO! Of course LE knows alot more than us, so I hope they can get to the truth soon.

Yes and following on from day 1 like yourself I don't think we are any further in knowing what happened. Of course we can speculate and hypothesis until the cows come home but our guesses are as good as what's on the other side of a black hole

I do think they were harmed though despite the terrain being so unforgiving. It's just observation over the years on other cases and seeing the same patterns emerge like revelations of cps involvement , drug use , DV with false imprisonment as a stand out . It wasn't a safe home by any stretch especially if teachers and family were concerned

But was the target mbm alone , it still remains to be seen and I hope this case does have closure for the family

The only reason I believe in a lingering possibility they might’ve wandered and haven’t been found is because I imagine the search for the first three or four days would’ve been for live and lost children so it would’ve been done fairly swiftly to cover as much area as possible. So perhaps no time was wasted searching within hidden areas obscured by branches or tree roots if the assumption was the children wanted to be found. But that assumption maybe was mistaken. So I hope a second search will be conducted in the spring.

In the words of Arthur Fonzerelli, Exactamundo. But no matter how many cases I follow, I still fool myself into thinking they are telling us everything they know, that all the puzzle pieces are there.

Just catching up; someone said a few pages back that we now know why MBM was crying after she talked to law enforcement in the car the morning the children were reported as missing. I couldn't find that reason. Can someone fill me in please? Tia.

Also, for those still thinking "they wandered", I'm curious as to your theories about zero scent of the children leaving the property within any recent time period prior to the searches that have already been done.

My heart is with those missing children. Children don't get to choose who their parents are.

Depending what time the search dogs were brought to the property there may’ve been multiple people beforehand including police officers and family members frantically going to and fro which destroyed the scent trial.

And hearing that police now have a family member suspect in the missing Gus case, I’m even more certain it has to be DM, just because, it seems, these stories always end up with a perpetrator

Extended interview with Daniel just released
I’m not pointing the finger at anyone but he just comes across as overly confident that he wasn’t involved. JMO.

At this stage of the game I am finger pointing and I believe the kids were harmed by someone
Now the reason I'm stating that is one person has been charged and due in court for the abuse of an adult . It is very hard to charge in a DV case without some form of proof especially when it's historic . While we live in a society where the victim of said abuse is more than likely to be believed than in the past . Some kind of evidence has to be there , even if only one text message

Statistics will tell us that in a home where an adult is subjected to violence and drug abuse is present, usually kids are being subjected to some form of abuse , the fact that DV and other red flags in the home usually foreshadows homicide is being given too much leeway and benefit of the doubt imo

The family were living in poverty as attested by family members of DM and by evidence of income coming into the home , teachers were not filing reports because there were signs of a family struggling financially there had to be physical or emotional signs that heightened the need for a report to be filed with child welfare / protection.

A memo was sent immediately to higher ups the day they went missing this does not happen unless the powers that be had been worried this was because they didn't act sooner in tending to the welfare of the children in the home

In ireland this generally happens when tulsa ( cps ) should have removed the children prior to them going missing as red flags for removal were present and they did not act

I feel the rcmp know a lot more than they are revealing, it is just a matter of finding evidence, I feel they will return in spring with a more targeted search and possibly DM being locked up by then might see more cooperations from DMs family and more bravery from mbm in coming forward with more information from that morning if she hasn't done so already . Prehaps more people might come forward too that may have been previously scared to .

I've more hope now in this case being resolved than I did before Christmas
