I wonder will reporters be allowed in the court room on Monday or are DV cases held behind closed doors
In general, media is not allowed to record anything but notes in the courtroom, but the judge can decide to allow them if they submit a request and it is approved by the judge, so it remains to be seen (BBM):

"Only media may produce, record or transmit audio, video or still photographs from inside the courthouse, and only within designated media areas—not in courtrooms. Media may use audio recorders inside courtrooms for note verification purposes only."

"Will the media always be there?

"Often there will be reporters from local media. Other media usually only cover courts if there are serious cases or a well known person appearing in court.

Television and still/video cameras and other devices to record or transmit audio or video are allowed in the courthouse but they are not allowed in the courtroom unless the judge allows them. "

Oh, I am sure that a wood stove in a trailer would be more than sufficient, and would be usable even during power outages. During the Ice Storm, folks who had wood stoves did quite well. Wood heat is really wonderful, comfortable and warm. You can cook on the wood stove, or dry your boots and mittens.

There are lots of safety standards for wood stoves in mobile homes to prevent accidents.
Totally agree- we are a woodstove family! Survived during the ice storm with one, bless it. Installed four, lots of safety standards. Not necessarily followed by everyone tho. And, they need to be “fed” on a regular basis. Not confident the standards were maintained in this trailer, or that it was fed- didn’t hear mention of it being loaded, but maybe I missed that. I guess we will never know, but thanks for the feedback

If someone suffered from CO2 poisoning, would not the first thing to do is call emergency? I guess I may not be following what you're getting at.
Yes, calling emergency would be the first thing - I raised the issue bc if it did happen some folks might hesitate to call thinking they may be blamed or found at fault somehow

The blanket is the strongest piece of evidence in this case. Whoever planted it thought it would draw suspicion away from the trailer. The reality is the exact opposite. This was done by somebody known to the children.

I haven't read anywhere the blanket was planted. Is that your suspicion or has that been reported?

It's my opinion. I also think police know way more than they are letting on.

Thank you for clearing that up.
Yes, LE always knows more about the cases they're investigating than they divulge to the public.

This latest article had a rather curious comment on that very subject:

"In a written statement, RCMP spokeswoman Allison Gerrard said the force is not releasing any new information at this time as they proceed with their investigation. “We’ve released all the information that can be shared publicly at this stage, and continued focus on those limited details does not advance the investigation,” wrote Gerrard." Stepfather of missing Nova Scotia siblings Jack and Lilly Sullivan appears in court on sexual assault, other charges

That underlined & bolded section stands out to me. As in, what the public knows isn't nearly as important to the case & bringing those kids home (and seeing the guilty party face justice) as we might think it is. Which just creates more questions.
