CANADA Canada - Jack, 4 & Lily Sullivan, 6, Vulnerable, wandered from home 10am, Gairloch Rd, Landsdowne Station, Pictou County, NS, 2 May 2025

Personally, and I hate to say it, but something seems off about this story. I hope I am wrong and eating my words. I hate to wonder about a family experiencing a tragedy. But….one would think a boot or the back pack or something would have been found by now. Not impossible of course to have found nothing, but seems unlikely.

My gut leans toward the wandering off story being a cover up.

Hope I’m wrong and they are found healthy and unharmed. Happy to be wrong on this one.
I agree something is off. You wake up and don’t go searching before you call 911 even with “instinct “?? Especially since she said they don’t normally run.

Should Lily have been in school, being 6? Maybe we are making assumptions there. Jack, being 4, doesn't need to be in school.

I see nothing wrong with parents of three very young children resting late in bed. And maybe someone was even home sick.

Some kids can make themselves cereal or similar from a very young age. They will make it clear if they need help.

These parents just need support and care. They deserve some rest and didn't expect their children to elope from the house.
WS is a victim friendly website and the parents need support, not condemnation. I agree with your post.

How do they know what they were wearing if they weren't seen yet that morning if parents were still in bed?

It's mentioned they alleged to have gone out the back door....so two young children were able to silently open AND close a sliding door with no noise...seems unlikely IMO.

I also find it questionable thay both kids at that age have stuck together through the rugged terrain with no signs in a large radius

As the mother of a ND child, my first step (other than visually scanning the immediate vicinity) and calling his name) would be to call 911, especially in light of geographic location and topography. An ND child doesn't need to be known as a runner per se to be uniquely vulnerable in this type of setting/situation . I suspect this may be what the mother meant when she referred to her 'instinct'. JMHOYMMV.

Well this part might not be too strange. My kid has favorite boots, I would know if they were missing. If they knew the little girl liked a particular back pack, they might look and see it missing.

Unless the children were in the habit of hiding, or liked to explore culverts....any water in them?
Also consider that drowning is one of the leading causes of death in ND children under the age of 12. Drowning can occur in just a few inches of water. Iirc, that area is pretty swampy depending on weather and time of year. Knowing the children are ND, its not unreasonable for SD to check the closest bodies of water. The downward gradient of a culvert can be really slippery, very easy for a child to tumble into head first.

What are ND children?

A quote from Jack and Lily's mother:
"She told CTV News there were footprints in the driveway leading toward the road Friday. She said people “have searched every nook and cranny” and said the two should have been found by now."

I find that quote from their mother devastating. If there were tracks heading towards the road and there has been such a thorough search, that brings up even more unanswered questions. It is almost incomprehensible to think how Jack and Lily could still be missing if they were around. Waiting for answers and hoping for a safe resolution soon.

I wondered if perhaps there a bit more to it and Lily (possibly not liking the step dad for whatever reason) wanted to run away because she’s not happy and in her 6 yr old mind she thought she didn’t want to leave her little bro behind so they both left. Obviously this doesn’t really account for how they’ve managed to stay off radar but just a thought

This case seems to be getting more complicated.

I can understand them blaming each other, especially if the relationship had prior issues, and I understand her leaving his family's property to be with her family. His family will likely be taking his side on this.

I'd love to know if LE had asked them to voluntarily turn over their phones, other electronics, and car(s) to LE and what their responses were.

Would they not be wearing pajamas as the parents were still sleeping? I cannot imagine a 4 and 6 year old choosing outfits and dressing themselves before escaping. Were their coats also missing?
I am fearful the longer there is no news.

Who's to say the parents hadn't fed and dressed the kids before 10:00? For all we know they could have had bacon and eggs at 6:00. We have to stop casting shade on the parents. They are clearly suffering.
