''Martell said he willingly handed his phone over to police. He said investigators have also searched the home and "everything I own."

"They searched every rock, every root. Everything," said Martell. "I've been giving them every detail, everything from my bank account statements to all the information that came off my Google maps."

Martell said he has also asked police to give him a polygraph test, which will happen in the next few days.

"I just want to clear it up for everyone, not just the people online making crazy accusations and everything else," he said. "I asked for that early on, and there's not many places that do that in Canada, so they're flying somebody in."

an odd thing to either be asked for or to volunteer in a missing children case JMO. Seems as if he is being very forthcoming. 🤷‍♀️

Ive heard different versions, this is my total guess> I would guess that after the incident between the families on Saturday, she was encouraged to leave, RCMP strategically wanting them to separate, hoping one or the other may divulge more info?
I don't believe the claim about her leaving b/c they implied cps may have involvement b/c if there was a need for child welfare, they'd get called regardless. Not to mention that if they thought the baby was at risk, they wouldn't have let her leave with the baby.
Depends on who exactly cps thought the baby could be at risk from MOO

Quoting my own post and BBM. Noted below “the RCMP were called around 10 a.m.” but called by who? It could be referring to an RCMP unit called to assist by their Command Centre, not the earlier 911 call.

“Brooks-Murray told CTV News on May 3 she called police right away, and RCMP say they were called around 10 a.m.”
Mom called RCMP.
Statement from Mom:
CTV News Video

"What happened was that we woke up I heard them playing in the next room beside us and I was drifting in and out of sleep, and they're not the type of kids that we tell them not to go outside on their own. We always make sure that we're out there with them, watching them, then they happened to just get out that sliding door and we can't hear it when it opens and they were outside playing, but we weren't aware of it at the time and the next thing we knew the [lurt-unknown] like it was quiet and we get up and I tell him, my partner, Daniel, I tell him "do you hear the kids" and he says "no" and we get up instantly, we're looking outside, we're looking everywhere, yelling for them and I instantly just called 911, as j-unknown I had the instinct I need to call."

Distance from home to nearest RCMP office is 46 minutes by road.

Google Maps

If Pictou County RCMP detachment is the closest RCMP station, even that is 1/2 hour away from Lansdowne Station. It would really be extraordinary if LE were on site searching immediately.
I don’t get what’s a reason the exact time of the 911 call is being held back.

This RCMP office is 8 minutes closer.

Oohhh ok. I understand now where you are coming from I think. Where I live when 911 is called, the operator asks the nature of the emergency and either transfers to RCMP, Fire or Ambulance. 🤷‍♀️
I remember reading early on that they called 911 at 9:40 and police arrived and started search at 10.
When they first noticed they ran around searching then mom called 911. Dad hoped in car searching roads and culverts nearby. When he returned an officer would not let him into the woods till person heading search ok'd.
Also, when Mom's mother arrived she started a fight accusing step father of being responsible. His mother asked her to get off the property so Mom left with her. I'm sure if he did anything to the kids or the mom had suspected police would have been told.
I dont think step father killed the children, but I do believe something did happen to them and they are both responsible

Yes, apparently this fight occurred on Saturday, the day after the children were reported missing at an unknown time. Now I’m thinking DM doesn’t know the time MBM called 911 because he was out searching. And she’s no longer talking to him or the media. So we really don’t know when the children were last seen or heard by the either of the couple, let alone by others. I’m sure this is being kept out of the news for a good reason.

BBM
Daniel Robert Martell, the children’s stepfather, told The Chronicle Herald that he and the children’s mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, last heard Jack and Lily on Friday morning as they lay in bed with their baby.

“The sun was already up and Lily came into the (bedroom),” said Martell.

“She had a pink shirt on. We could hear Jackie in the kitchen. A few minutes later we didn’t hear them so I went out to check. The sliding door was closed. Their boots were gone.”

Martell is not Jack and Lily’s father. He’s been Brooks-Murray’s partner for three years.

He said the children have undiagnosed autism and it is not like them to wander far. Martell said he immediately jumped in the car and searched neighbouring roads, looking in culverts. By the time he returned home, the RCMP were there, having been called by the children’s mother.

Brooks-Murray left the home Saturday to be with family. According to Martell, the two have had no contact since.

Martell said Wednesday that he had been working with Northeast Nova Major Crime, had provided the RCMP with his cellphone and had agreed to do a lie detector test.

yes exactly, however, based on the property alone and given that they had 2 kids missing cause they allegedly escaped , they had safety concerns and supervision issues. That could be why she left, the alternative being the child is apprehended until the property is repaired. IDK just making guesses.

Mom being away from the property and not speaking to the press (allegedly via her mother because she's been advised not to) while stepdad is still on the property and still giving daily statements and interviews is wild to me. I can't recall a case like it.
It is possible that she might be so broken up by the loss and likely death of two of her children that she has been counselled not to speak.

Does any one really think the time of the 911 call is that important, given that there is also debate on what day they actually went missing. Maybe I am missing why its important to know the time of the 911 call? Seriously Im not being smug
I'm with you on this!
IMO It has not yet been confirmed WHEN the children were last seen by anyone other than Daniel and the mother. Therefore they could have been missing for quite some time before the 911 call was made. They were in school on Tuesday, I don't think we have any actual sightings of the children by anyone since!?
Daniel says he saw only Lily on the morning they disappeared, then we only have his word on this.
In no way am I accusing either "parent" , IMO it's imperative to know WHAT DAY (and time if possible) another person saw these kiddies before they were reported missing!

It’s impossible to form an opinion without having all the facts at hand to base it upon.

The time a 911 call was placed is a significant piece of information in every other case I’ve followed, don’t know why it wouldn’t be here. That two adults are apparently still in bed dozing off at 10 a.m., ignoring their 4 and 6 year old children who have silently slipped out a patio door doesn’t paint a very good picture IMO

One thing I am surprised about---but probably not relevant. But this property is a perfect place to have watch dogs and protection dogs to fight off coyotes, etc. They apparently don't have any?

Maybe they are afraid they'd get the chickens?

Indeed she could be suffering from health issues, mental or physical. Nobody is ever obligated to speak to the media so she doesn’t even require the RCMP to tell her not to.

Alternatively, she may have legal council. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chief and Council from her reserve, have provided some support.

I'm having trouble believing they were abducted. They live in a VERY rural area. So the chance that an opportunistic abductor happened upon them would be slim IMO.

Mom said that the kids went out to play....but she also said she didn't hear them go out. So why did she state that they did?

The area, as many people have pointed out, is very rough bush. There would be so many ways they could get lost.
I agree. This is reminding me of the case of Orrin and Orson West.
