I thought the 911 call was around 10am as well but now I can’t find a source. There’s just no way the RCMP gather up all these resources and arrive at the rural Landsdowne home and begin searching immediately. Maybe the 911 call was much earlier (after sunrise) and the media is overlaying the time of that call with the responder arrival time???

“Since just after 10 a.m. this morning, May 2, a search has been underway for two children who are believed to have wandered from a home on Gairloch Rd. in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County.

There is a multi-agency response currently on the ground in Pictou County. It includes resources from ground search and rescue teams from around the province who are collaborating to ensure resources and teams are available on an ongoing basis. Other resources and teams include the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), Department of Natural Resources Air Services, and several RCMP units, including RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (drones) operators, and others. Additionally, the RCMP issued a vulnerable missing person alert for Pictou County.”

Mom stated when she noticed they were gone

She said she and her partner Daniel then began looking for them.
“We get up and look outside. We’re looking everywhere, yelling for them, and I instantly just called 911. I just had the instinct I needed to call.”

The mom also stated in this article that footprints were seen at the road.

STAFF SERGEANT - It appeared it was a possible boot print of a... a smaller boot print. So when we have a possibility like that, that's when we exhaust that area as well to make sure that that wasn't a clue that we were missing.

This is such a wildly complex and tragic case. From the above file, key takeaways for me are that LE are focusing on specific areas to continue their searches (both ground and with divers) because of due reasons and that the stepfather has willingly been 100% cooperative, including a four-hour police statement, giving over cell phone and asking for a polygraph. These are both very interesting to me.
I think it is entirely possible that terrible things can happen. This might just be a case of two young children who went out on an adventure and unfortunately got caught by some lethal threat they could not imagine.

Thanks but that’s not a direct quote from the mom, only the reporter’s writing.

MOO the 911 call came in around 10am. responders would have first searched the trailers, any other outbuildings, and the immediate vicinity while awaiting arrival of mass search response personnel. By 11:15am the story was in the press stating a search was happening.

Every article and official source states the children were reported missing at approximately 10am. I see no reason to speculate the 911 call was made earlier and the 10 am time was simply when the massive search started. JMO MOO

This is a discussion board. The search started shortly after 10. That imo would mean, the call was made some time earlier.

In a statement Thursday, Cpl. Carlie McCann said the force did not have any more information to share about the case.

While RCMP have said some areas that were already searched would be revisited as part of the scaled-back efforts, they would not say Thursday how many searchers or investigators remain involved in the case.

On Thursday, Martell said he was told that a crew would be searching a nearby lake.
[snip]
Martell said he has also asked police to give him a polygraph test, which will happen in the next few days.

"I just want to clear it up for everyone, not just the people online making crazy accusations and everything else," he said. "I asked for that early on, and there's not many places that do that in Canada, so they're flying somebody in."

Key Points
1) do we know what lake he is discussing being searched today?

2) Interesting that he says they are going to be bringing in someone to administer a polygraph on him.

Unfortunately I don't think that will have the affect he's hoping for, even if he does pass with flying colors. It's unfortunate that anyone in the situation of having their kid(s) go missing has to have the extra stressful burden of knowing there are awful people out there making such crazy accusations.

Mom being away from the property and not speaking to the press (allegedly via her mother because she's been advised not to) while stepdad is still on the property and still giving daily statements and interviews is wild to me. I can't recall a case like it.

Welcome. There is a direct quote from the mom in quotations marks.

I must be blind. 10 a.m. is referenced twice by the writer but neither is a direct quote by the mom.

Six-year-old Lily Sullivan and four-year-old Jack Sullivan were last seen on Gairloch Road in Lansdowne Station around 10 a.m. Friday. After 24 hours, the two have still not been found.

Since just after 10 a.m. this morning, May 2, a search has been underway for two children who are believed to have wandered from a home on Gairloch Rd. in Lansdowne Station, Pictou County.

Plus apparently not speaking to the step-dad since either...raises alarm bells doesn't it?!
