If a school bus driver wouldn't let the kids on the bus, then surely that driver or the kids on the bus would have come forward by now.

As for chickens flying over the fence, I was just trying to picture a scenario that would have the kids wandering into the woods, which they normally wouldn't do.

On Google Maps there is a stream or ditch ? and some resevoir- or lake-looking bodies of water. Not sure how close this point is to the child's home but thought it was interesting. Have they mentioned searching the water? How big is the stream actually?

Stepfather told The Globe that police advised him that they were going to bring in RCMP divers Thursday to search nearby Lansdowne Lake.”

MOO This doesn't jibe with the BF's timeline. I'm not saying either or both are lying, and they might both remember things differently and perhaps neither are using very precise language. But how did the mom know they got out the sliding door "and they were outside playing, but we weren't aware of it at the time" if, according to the BF, the sliding door was closed when they got up?
In the BF's account, “The sun was already up and Lily came into the (bedroom). She had a pink shirt on. We could hear Jackie in the kitchen. A few minutes later we didn’t hear them so I went out to check. The sliding door was closed. Their boots were gone.”
I hadn't thought much about Daniel's statement that the door was closed. So the kids are believed to have both opened AND closed that sliding door silently. That must be one quiet slider. The trailer home is small, not a lot of square footage. I wish we had the layout so we could better envision where everyone was in the trailer just prior to the reported disappearance.

Curious as to how many LE tested that silent door

They do have a chicken coop in their backyard. Aren't chickens usually let out to run around the yard and forage during the day? The kids maybe have a routine of feeding the chickens and opening their door in the morning? Also, those chickens will draw in predators if there are any around.

While anything is a possibility at this point, I'm doubtful of the predator angle. If a predator came around, it would likely target chickens over humans. I know that when coyotes attacked my cousin's chickens, there were feathers all over the yard. Whether a predator attacked the children or chickens, I feel like there would be evidence. I'm doubtful that any predator would dispose of clothing and rubber boots.

Yea, a predator would have also left paw prints all over, so I'm pretty sure this is ruled out.

Maybe they just couldn't hear the door from their bedroom which is probably down the hallway. In the pictures of their home, it looks pretty long.
entirely possible. But mom made a point in her interview that that door cannot be heard opening and Daniel described it as silent.

'We always make sure that we're out there with them, watching them, and they happen to just get out that sliding door, and we can't hear it when it opens,' she said.
Mom's haunting on-camera plea after two young children both vanished

Martell said that while he and their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, were in the bedroom with their one-year-old, Lily came in and out several times, and Jack could be heard in the kitchen.

He thinks the children must have opened the sliding back door, which he said is nearly silent, and went outside.

In response to all comments about the 16 month old toddler eating in bed with parents: the only source for that remark is the Dailymail. The Dailymail has not checked facts. It appears that the UK tabloid imagines that Canadian toddlers eat in bed.

According to the father: the child was dozing in bed.

"Their stepfather Daniel Martell told The Globe that the children were playing in the next room while he dozed in the bedroom with their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, and the couple’s 16-month-old when the children went missing."

CBC also stated that in one of the initial reports.

Yes, or baby was crying, or there was a conversation going on. Who knows. The kids made it out without being heard. We haven't been given any reason to disbelieve the parents.

From statements provided by the parents, I think it's possible that they knew the children went outside and that they could hear the children playing. At some point, they realized the children were quiet. They might not want to admit that the children played outside unsupervised, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Many older mobile homes have the same basic layout. The front entrance leads to an open space with a kitchen/dining room on one side and a living room on the other. There's a hall with a bathroom, 1-2 smaller bedrooms, and then the master bedroom at the very end. The back sliding door is opposite to the front door, and that usually leads to a deck or backyard. Here's a basic floorplan that I found to help visualize: https://mobilehomeliving.org/wp-con...manufactured-home-floor-plan-use-of-space.jpg

The exterior pictures of the house generally match this basic layout, although of course I have no idea what things actually look like inside.

The best description of the timeline comes from this article: Search continues for two missing Pictou County children

“The sun was already up and Lily came into the (bedroom),” said Martell. “She had a pink shirt on. We could hear Jackie in the kitchen. A few minutes later we didn’t hear them so I went out to check. The sliding door was closed. Their boots were gone.”... Martell said he immediately jumped in the car and searched neighbouring roads, looking in culverts. By the time he returned home, the RCMP were on the scene after being called by the children’s mother."

According to the RCMP, the search began "just after 10 a.m." (on May 2nd): Missing children: Help the RCMP find Lily Sullivan and Jack Sullivan | Royal Canadian Mounted Police
I had to go back to page 5 to find this again. Something doesn’t sit right with me that Martell wasn’t there on the property when RCMP arrived. And then the search started just after 10:00 a.m. yet he said they didn’t respond quick enough.

What time was the 911 call made?

He did claim he was searching on his own before police arrived. Wouldn’t that be an expected course of action? IMO it wouldn’t sit right with me if he was sitting on the couch enjoying a cup of coffee while waiting for people to come and search.

Furthermore, if one of the chickens escaped over the fence, the kids might have chased after it thinking they were going to be in trouble.

Are any chickens missing?
That's not out of the question. Kids act on impulse, especially if they have been disciplined in the past. Like kids have to be taught not to manhandle their pets.

I don't think we know if the fence was intact, could be scooted under, was sagging in places, etc. Everyone's opinion is due respect.
