Yes I remember following that case. They still haven’t found those boys, have they? I hope Lily and Jack are found.I agree. This is reminding me of the case of Orrin and Orson West.

Yes, I think it was a wise and good thing to separate the couple, which of course is often LE policy. That way, each individual can give their account of what happened that morning. This is a remote area, and it just makes sense for the mother and baby to join her immediate family IMO. It gives the investigators space as well at the scene. The mother did give one public statement and that is enough. As for the stepdad, as he and his family own or rent the property, it makes more sense for him to stay there with his brother and mother for now IMO. If he is the spokesperson so be it. Let him talk publicly as much as he wants, every word can be analyzed by the powers that be.yes and it may have been too early for them to make a judgement. Thats why I think the timing of it was a good opportunity to separate them.
All bolding mine.Yes, apparently this fight occurred on Saturday, the day after the children were reported missing at an unknown time. Now I’m thinking DM doesn’t know the time MBM called 911 because he was out searching. And she’s no longer talking to him or the media. So we really don’t know when the children were last seen or heard by the either of the couple, let alone by others. I’m sure this is being kept out of the news for a good reason.
BBM
Daniel Robert Martell, the children’s stepfather, told The Chronicle Herald that he and the children’s mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, last heard Jack and Lily on Friday morning as they lay in bed with their baby.![]()
RCMP scaling back search for missing Pictou County children
Despite public appeals, there have been no reports of sightings Jack and Lily Sullivan.www.saltwire.com
“The sun was already up and Lily came into the (bedroom),” said Martell.
“She had a pink shirt on. We could hear Jackie in the kitchen. A few minutes later we didn’t hear them so I went out to check. The sliding door was closed. Their boots were gone.”
Martell is not Jack and Lily’s father. He’s been Brooks-Murray’s partner for three years.
He said the children have undiagnosed autism and it is not like them to wander far. Martell said he immediately jumped in the car and searched neighbouring roads, looking in culverts. By the time he returned home, the RCMP were there, having been called by the children’s mother.
Brooks-Murray left the home Saturday to be with family. According to Martell, the two have had no contact since.
Martell said Wednesday that he had been working with Northeast Nova Major Crime, had provided the RCMP with his cellphone and had agreed to do a lie detector test.
I was a topic of discussion here a few days ago. Report by CBC -Do you have a source for this? Not doubting you, would just be curious to read it myself. I hadn't heard that.
All bolding mine.
Good points !
A lot to unpack here, imo.
Red bolded : If the children haven't been diagnosed, does the stepdad know this for certain ?
Is this the second time stepdad has said they're autistic ?
Asking as my neighbor's second husband thought her son from her first marriage had autism and he even took the child in for tests and wanted to start him on some meds.
The boy (3 yrs old) does not have autism nor is he showing symptoms. Not sure what is going on there.
However ... back to Lily and Jack.
Green bolded :Just an observation and only my opinion : I would be very unhappy if the mother of my toddler took him and didn't contact me. I would need to see my little one !
Just sits wrong w/me, somehow ?
Purple bolded : Did LE ask him to take one ?
B/c if not-- I prob. wouldn't volunteer.
If the stepdad Martell is basing this on social media comments-- he shouldn't be reading anything and only helping to search.
The only thing that matters is finding Jack and Lily.
Nothing else !
Orange bolded : Wonder why ?
Imo.
Right ! I forgot about that, often the band gets a big say in things, like taking the baby temporarily until the property is repaired.. If that were the caseAlternatively, she may have legal council. I wouldn’t be surprised if Chief and Council from her reserve, have provided some support.
This feels like Summer Wells all over againThe trailer that the mother and brother live in are not far from the sliding door the kids came out.Why did they not see or hear the kids?I would like to know where they were as well!

I hear you, and I am open to anything I might not be aware of. I can understand it can help contribute to a timeline, I guess I am stuck on not knowing the last time they were seen by anybody else. I imagine if they were in school Tuesday, they were seen then but after that its hard to know what could have happened and when. I am sure L/E are putting everything together, cell phone data etc. location services. It’s impossible to form an opinion without having all the facts at hand to base it upon.
The time a 911 call was placed is a significant piece of information in every other case I’ve followed, don’t know why it wouldn’t be here. That two adults are apparently still in bed dozing off at 10 a.m., ignoring their 4 and 6 year old children who have silently slipped out a patio door doesn’t paint a very good picture IMO
The band can’t take the baby…that would be CAS. I meant legal help, referring the mom to different mental and emotional support programs that the Rez has etc.Right ! ok I see what you mean, I thought you were talking about bill C-92 on the placement of childrenThe band can’t take the baby…that would be CAS. I meant legal help, referring the mom to different mental and emotional support programs that the Rez has etc.
No. None whatsoever.Plus apparently not speaking to the step-dad since either...raises alarm bells doesn't it?!

This. I think this is very important. I don’t feel very confident in the accounting of events by the parents. I think it would be really enlightening to find a third party who last saw the kids.By their parents.
I'm dying to know when the last time anyone who was not their parents saw either of the children.

Could also have been to remove the youngest from potentially dangerous situation, whilst authorities evaluate. By that I mean the possibility of a predator/abductor had not been eliminated
Okay but, earnestly, I *cannot* imagine leaving the place my children last were so soon after they have been lost. I really can’t. Can you? I’m sincerely asking. In that same place, would you leave that place because of loud machinery?Yes, that could be.
Another possibility could be that it is really hard for a small child (the 16 month old) to be in that environment, with drones and helicopters flying overhead at all hours and everyone around them in deep distress. I have the impression that the mother is not all that far away - likely not more than an hour or so by car.
All MOO.
Yes, that could be.

I kinda believe him. Of course I’ve been wrong before.
