Yes - this makes sense - I was doubtful myself he was traveling on a Fake Passport the last year.
To add: regular international travelers passport information is stored with their airline profiles and frequent flyer info. This is in addition to any TSA Pre-Check, Global Entry, Clear, etc.
These days it is all connected to the travelers profile.

You also make a great point on citizenship. That may be why his citizenship is omitted with his booking.
Well, just about everything is omitted in his booking! He born a US citizen, not subject to deportation and is subject to the laws in the US regardless of whether he was a dual citizen and is not entitled to assistance from any other country. So, legally he is 100% a US citizen. Full stop.

The Italian consulate would be of no benefit to him on US soil even if (and that's a big if) he was also an Italian citizen. If he was, he could have also had an Italian passport as a means of escaping the US when on the run, but an Italian passport won't do him any good in prison! I kinda doubt that he had one, since only one passport is listed.

Anyway, they need to ascertain citizenship for numerous reasons given above. The booking doesn't even give his height!

It's terrifying that this SCOTUS is going to render a decision on this topic.

I recall back in the early 1990's when the Brady Bill was passed, there was concern over "plastic" guns, or the type that can evade metal detectors. IIRC, Congress back then voted to ban them as it would be impossible to tell if someone is bringing one onto an airplane, etc.

Scary.

NYPD has the bullets from the crime scene with his fingerprints on them, so that should be some solid evidence against LM. Is there discussion that they might not be able to link the actual gun to him? If not, it could still be considered circumstantial evidence, right?

As to that bill you reference, it's now known in some circles as the "plastic gun panic." Congress was tricked into believing that guns like those made by Glock, were undetectable to airport security. It was silly, because although the frame is made of polymer, the top part that makes it go "boom," is made of steel. Of course ammunition is made of metal as well.

They wound going on to ban a gun that had never been invented in the first place, and no one would want if it was.

In this case, they've already been able to link that gun and the recovered rounds, as those metal components that he would have had to acquire leave the same markings on bullets and bullet casings that all guns leave. There's no difference between a mass produced firearm, or a homemade one in that regard.

So they've got him with the murder weapon, his fingerprints, the fake ID, writings, and likely his DNA. If they can ever crack his phone (they probably have his phone records though), they'll get him with that as well.

Did I miss something? I didn't realize he was mentioned in the manifesto.

@Friday Fan we were discussing the Tinder account yesterday. Did you/others look at the two photos closely? It would be great to hear some added observations:

My Observations:
-Two similar looking individuals suggesting (look left/look right) IMO
-While similar, one may appear to some to have a more “photogenic” appeal; especially in regards to the abs
-The last sync date was 12/9
-12/9 was the day he was arrested
The second image
-shoes with the white striping along the bottom
-Highlights a wildfire in background

Of note, A wildfire occurred in CA on 12/9.
(Below is a link to the story as it ran in NY.)

Did somebody drop a little photoshopped Luigi in there to make it look like he was somewhere else in those same shoes. LOL- nah that would be silly right?

Other thoughts or observations?

Link to Images is here:

That is not a screenshot from a Tinder account. It's a screenshot from "CheaterBuster AI" which allegedly searches every Tinder profile by first name to see if someone has one. Seems onerous.

Last sync presumably means the last time the AI scraped Tinder.

'Hear what Mangione’s New York attorney told CNN before she was retained as his attorney'

"Karen Friedman Agnifilo will represent him in New York. Friedman Agnifilo previously worked as the chief assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office under Cyrus Vance Jr. for seven years and is a veteran with deep experience in New York City’s criminal justice system. She has worked in private practice since 2021.'

Thank goodness for people like Michael Moore with his emotional intelligence Jmoo. Adding the link to his full reply from a UK newspaper as I have just noticed most of the US newspapers reporting this cannot be accessed from here.

Michael Moore stated: "I definitely condemn that kind of murder.”

If anyone has read a MM book or seen a MM movie; it's known how MM works. He’s an advocate, unlike LM.

Of course, and as usual, Rolling Stone reporting irresponsibly.

Rolling Stone needs the clicks, etc., supposedly. moo

Last sync presumably means the last time the AI scraped Tinder.
So, "CheaterBuster AI" is responsible for the sync? And would the sync time be when the CheaterBuster site like searched for him?

(Don't have tinder, don't know the interface.)

Here's the info from the CheaterBuster website that suggests this: "For each & every search placed on Cheaterbuster the system will grab the latest information from Tinder, making it a real Tinder profile search. The trick and where we deliver best results - is knowing what information to grab that will answer our users search criteria. This task is where our constantly updating algorithm comes into action."

It's also not a free service. https://www.cheaterbuster.net/about-us/

IIRC, it has been reported that others dropped out of the book club when Kaczynski was the topic, because they were uncomfortable with the discussion with LM, it was likely getting too dark for them.

Indeed. He likely started advocating violence and/or insisting it was the only way, and since they lacked the intrinsic bloodlust they (correctly) surmised that he was off his dang'd rocker.

JMO.

JMO.

And either he was experiencing a shift in his mental health, or he'd already dabbled in revolutionary politics (and not the Gandhi or Martin Luther King kind).

The whole thing about the book club, if true (that he was organizing a club to read Ted K's work!) would help explain why some thought him "dark" and others may have begun to avoid him. Which puts into doubt my own use of the word "ghosting" in regards to LM going missing. It could also be that as he amped up with these ideas, others began to avoid him.

All of this would accelerate his aberrant thinking.

Attached is a link around the PI discussion.
When I was reading it, it suddenly stood out that once again the friend is sharing a story they “were told”.

'They hired a private investigator, they were so worried.'
The friend said they had been told that Mangione had struggled with pain medication due to an injury.
'There was some sort of accident. I knew he was hurt some time ago and that led to the painkiller thing, and then the whole family issue,' he said.

(Daily Mail has moderate reliability.)

It seems that he is a pain patient. True. I have own feeling about what this pain can mean. But people from his Hawaiian colony reported some bad surfing accident and him going overboard with pain after that. Hard to interpret. I doubt he’d be put on scheduled painkillers by a provider in Hawaii for a long term, in our age. If he had a legal source, he’d not leave Hawaii, that simple. He’d not behave in an unpredictable way either. (Martin linked the episode of his trauma to him getting emotionally unstable.)

Now, if he bought painkillers off the street, it is highly likely he’d have no money by now.

He mentioned psychedelics in his posts. They are always questionable. “All in moderation” rule applies, and not everyone knows what “moderation” is with unregulated substances. I simply can’t comment on the effects of high doses. (Personal opinion: expect something bizarre.) Psychedelics, though, don’t require significant financial investments.

I would be surprised that a person tied up to any substances would travel extensively, and to Japan of all places. People stay next to their sources.

On the other hand, some factors brought him downhill over the course of 4 years. He had certain unusual traits in college, but did well. Now it is safe to say that his level of dysfunction amounts to a “disorder.” A food for thought.

It's entirely possible that he was on low doses of pain pills too. I have a script that I can elect to call in. I quit taking them sometime this summer. It's always been a PRN script. When I take them, it's usually in the afternoon.
Traveling likely helped his pain if he was enjoying himself. Activities that increase endorphins decrease pain. Hiking is considered to be good to excellent rehab. Sitting in cramped seats increases pain. So, it's possible that he had access to pain meds and it's possible to hoard the meds by not taking them.

He could likely take his prescriptions with him abroad, if he actually was on them. However, if he did have a script, it would probably be something like one tablet every 4-6 hours as needed. (Something like Tyl w/Codeine or similar) Every 4-6 is usually the max dose and is often a post-op home dose. The dosage on my script is twice a day. However, I usually only took 1/2 tablet/day. Sometimes I would take 2 of the 1/2 tablets per day.
Pain is weird.

Also, if he was having acute pain, like after the accident, there is a good chance that he was taking pain meds. But when the pain decreases or resolves, so do the pills. He did say he wasn't taking pain meds after his surgery. Not everyone who takes pain meds gets "addicted". They do "play on your brain", but they don't make people into "unabombers".
