Correct me if I'm wrong, but the shooter went to Starbucks unmasked, left a water bottle, and took a Citi bike. He's either the stupidest shooter on the planet or gives zero f*s.
Citibike was debunked. Used an e-bike apparently but not a citibike.

Wait are you arguing that he used an actual vintage/antique firearm as opposed to the modern version of that same type reported in the news?
Yes. That’s what I’m trying to argue here. The gun he used is modeled after the vintage weapon but it is not, itself, from that era. It’s a modern weapon.

The NYPD had recovered the burner phone belonging to the gunman after he fled the crime scene and disappeared into Central Park Wednesday morning, minutes after killing the executive. UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting live updates: Manhunt on for Brian Thompson’s killer
If the burner phone does belong to the suspect then that's the answer in terms of him working with someone else. Don't need a burner phone to communicate with yourself.

LE haven't released the location of where he made that phone call (unlike all other pieces of CCTV footage). <modsnip - sleuthing a random person>

Does to me, too. And the hand position looks feminine.
It's just that one picture. He has facial hair and bushy eyebrows - this is clearly a man.

Not quite— he was masked at Starbucks and left on his own e-bike. The bike info has been corrected by LE, and the unmasked picture was from elsewhere.

Are we allowed to layout theories?

The dude looks Canadian. International travelers squat at hostels and Canada is not far for a train ride.

The backpack is huge, he had to come from afar.

Perhaps DNA is being shared with interpol.
He certainly smiles like a friendly Canadian, but, knowing what he did, he seems to have more of an Israel Keyes vibe.

Interesting it was a personal bike yet he was staying at a hostel?

ETA - I guess he could have taken his bike on a train to get into the city and stay at the hostel.

There was reporting earlier that he was on camera carrying an e-bike battery.

wait so if the gun is designed to fire a nearly silent shot on its own, why would he need to use a suppressor?
The suppressor was built in to the weapon.

<modsnip - comparing appearance to a famous person> If Madison Square Garden is capable of using facial recognition software to keep attorneys out of the venue, I wonder just how much NYPD knows about this guy.

I guess the quality isn't good enough to do that, unfortunately.

He looks like a women? Maybe a ex girlfriend mad at him.

He doesn't look at all like a woman in this pic. Check out the hands and the slight shadow above his upper lip. Man. 100%

"Investigators are examining the possibility that a cell phone left near the scene of the shooting did belong to the gunman and was not a decoy or a so-called burner phone, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation. The police have not yet gained access to the device."

Thank you! He had the new version. The articles discuss the gun store he bought it from and everything.
