<modsnip - comparing appearance to a famous person> If Madison Square Garden is capable of using facial recognition software to keep attorneys out of the venue, I wonder just how much NYPD knows about this guy.
I'm guessing they know quite a lot already and it won't be long before he is captured. I kind of wonder if he won't take his own life given his carelessness in leaving traceable evidence. He prepared so carefully to commit the crime, but then didn't prepare very well to evade capture. I think at this point he doesn't care much what happens.

Thank you! He had the new version. The articles discuss the gun store he bought it from and everything.
Are you able to find what gun store he bought it at? Curious where in CT, I haven't been able to find it. Parts of CT are easily accessible by train and other parts he'd need to have a car.

If they say “found the ID”, does that mean the ID card or just the name?

? Maybe a copy of id was enough for le to see its fake.

I have to look I’m not sure if they’ve released that info yet or not. I know they think they tracked the purchase but last I read the name of the retailer was still under wraps. MOO

I guess the quality isn't good enough to do that, unfortunately.
For sure they have scanned it against NYS driver's Licenses.

Been thinking about whether the messages on the bullet casings are a red herring?
Is someone trying to deflect away from a more personal matter with the CEO?
No question someone wanted him dead.

-- Shooter is not a professional hit person
-- Apparently two others are allegedly involved
-- Shooter is somewhat knowledgeable about firearms
-- Shooter absolutely wanted to make sure BT was dead before leaving the crime scene
-- Did someone else want BT executed and gave the directive to shooter
-- Who benefits most from BT's death

Thoughts and opinions only

Per CNN, lots of tips coming in since crowdsourcing new images of shooter

Massive search of Central Park was done looking for backpack, etc but nothing came up

I for one didn’t know there were surveillance cameras all over NYC taking live video of everything that is happening. I expect that in stores but not on the street and in budget hostels etc. I wonder if the same lack of knowledge bit him.

Is everyone completely convinced that the unmasked guy and the suspect are one and the same? I know they were dressed differently and to me, the suspect appeared to have a longer, thinner nose. I wasn’t sure if this other guy could be an accomplice? I mean, have the cops said how they connected the two?
I’m not doubting them I’m just curious whether there could be more than one suspect at large or if these are supposed to be the same man. Has it been specified that it’s the same man?
TIA MOO

CNN: Police have received a number of tips since the release of those images.

John Miller: May go from far away to very close now that they have a face. History has shown us that when you crowdsource it generally speeds the process up.

Two words, not 3 as originally reported on those rounds.

"Delay, Depose"

Miller thinks they are working off a shortlist of suspects right now.

Wanting these words to be found is rare but not unprecedented. See it with serial killers.

"Are these clues the actual motive...or are they trying to disguise it as a work related killing? " They have to keep an open mind.

JMO but I think the lighting in the Starbucks image is making his nose look very different. I also believe the photos were two different days hence the different outfit, one was taken when he checked in and he stayed there for a few days

It's just that one picture. He has facial hair and bushy eyebrows - this is clearly a man.
I thought it might be two similar but different people. Maybe intentionally to throw the authorities off. MOO

If he used fake ID to check into hostel and they take copies of the IDs LE would easily be able to discern the ID is fake. MOO

I can't get past his smiling photo. that smile seems so genuine and warm. Not what I envisioned for a cold hired assassin or unhinged loved one of an insured person.

I'm with you.

I'm guessing there was some suspicious behavior of the unmasked guy. But it's NYC, so there could be all sorts of suspicious types coming into the city.

What do I know? I'm just here at home in Texas.

I wonder if Brian regularly shared his (phone) location with anyone.

The shooter knew he'd be there at that exact time. How?

Now that it’s being said there were only two words, without the “deny”, I’m curious if that makes much difference to anyone’s theories on what the words could be referencing?

I am impressed they already know this much about him. It's also alarming how anonymous we are not.

  • #379
You would think he would have done some sort of trial runs before-hand. Wonder if they have video of him near the crime scene in the days prior.

On iPhone, you share location with only those you invite to share with.
