Good shooter, but a clown for going to Starbucks for his Frappuccino lol

Perhaps he’s using the cup as a distraction for the cops.

Toss out the drink but leave the cup behind, delay the search a day or so, also tossing out the throw away phone.

I mean, they’re putting out pictures of someone in different coats, different backpacks, likely different faces and trying to ID him.

Yet they say he kept his face covered most of the time. Make up yer mind folks.

<modsnip - quoted post was not victim friendly)

Maybe it all comes out in the wash. Maybe foreign hit men have cheaper fees but you have to pay airfare. Maybe domestic hit men are more expensive, but you don't have airfare.

Do we know when Brian got into town?

I think it’s a pro hitman , or however they are referred.

Oh, of course - my point is that he clearly could have grabbed a water and energy bars from a bodega or just... not done that at all. But he knowingly was filmed at a popular coffee shop while purchasing items you can easily get other places. Starting to feel pretty narcissistic - wants to be seen, but not caught.
But Starbucks is a nationwide chain. We go them often when we travel, because we know the menu already and what we want to order. Don't have to stop and check out the menu/prices.

That stopping in at a Starbucks is just loony IMO....but Starbucks does add double caffeine to its coffee, so many junkees. I'm in Minnesota and know where this CEO lived and I also know the United headquarters area quite well. This assassination taking place in Manhattan has me thinking the hit-person lives in a country that won't extradite and is back at home now - that's also explain this hit-person having to spend so many days in Manh' just prior to the hit. Also, surely assassin being on fone shortly before doing this means it's an organized crime. Also, IMO, it's really quite simple and obvious that those insurance 'deniers', for e.g., insurance co. trial lawyers, are a group of people who tend to inspire those vulnerable to murderous rage to follow through like this. One more note: My view is United Healthcare is clearly 'rolling in dough' - I have plenty of reason to think, feel, believe, know that - my view is United Healthcare is top of the pinnacle of money grubbing.

I think he is homegrown. For one, I bet he doesn't have a pronounced accent. For two, he is flexible (this is why i wonder about his ethnicity) and has an interesting walk, but if 6'1" is to be believed, he is "US-fed".
What does US fed even mean?

Starbucks sells many things besides coffee- tea, water, smoothies, breakfast foods, pastries, sandwiches... You can tell we frequent them often.
He could have got his water bottle and granola/power bar from anywhere. Instead he chose a Starbucks branch - almost guaranteed to have well-maintained CCTV cameras. It's an odd decision but alas that's what he did - and he didn't even want a coffee...(how I interpret it).

The suspected gunman who shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson had checked into an Upper West Side hostel using a fake New Jersey ID, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Ahhh the good old fake New Jersey ID … it served me well in my underage drinking days in college, made by the entrepreneurial design students. They’re harder to make these days, but you can definitely still get them.

I find it odd that the shooter is eating and drinking prior to committing a murder. Just odd.

Why when it's a lot cheaper to hire someone locally and not have to pay as much airfare?
If you’re hiring over the dark web, you are hiring someone to do the job from anywhere. $2000 is a pittance for airfare when someone is contracting for a killing. I just don’t see the distance or air fare cost being a barrier or problem.

Other people on this thread have made a much better case that the shooter is a tri-state area local, and he may very well be.

But I am just saying that the man is definitely not “Thaddeus from Louisville, Kentucky whose family has lived in that city for generations,” and arguing that he could easily have entered and fled the country expressly for this event.

We’ll know soon enough what actually transpired.

Plus, we might overinflate his looks. He probably doesn't stand out at all. Ask me to remember the looks of most teenagers/ young adults in my neighborhood, I'd fail to. Different clothes, people at home in winter. Plus, even if someone might think that "this kid resembles the perp", maybe people know that he is dangerous. Few would want to risk their own lives. JMO. I think the police will find him, but it will be their game.

Me too! Gotta get in his Peppermint Mocha and Chocolate croissant before committing murder (Just kidding, that's my order...)

Police have recovered suspect's fingerprints and burner phone: sources

By Ronny Reyes
New York Police have the fingerprints of the shooter who executed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, with officials also working to get into his burner phone for more clues, law enforcement sources told The Post.

The NYPD had recovered the burner phone belonging to the gunman after he fled the crime scene and disappeared into Central Park Wednesday morning, minutes after killing the executive.

How do we know he's flexible?

I assume the ID was only used at the hostel and not to buy the weapon. At least I hope so!

I don't think he's very local, as the hostel would be unnecessary. But he needed a base in which to plan this out, and a place in which to launch his attack from. He had to be in the city so he could go out and do this early that morning. That would be necessary even if he was from a different part of New York, or another state altogether.

I think we'll have answers soon.
The HI hostel does not accept guests from NYC, so he used a fake NJ ID. Maybe he used that to purchase the gun in CT, too.

I believe he went into the Starbucks to fit in, so he wouldn’t arouse any suspicion. Unlikely he needed a water or an energy bar.

Also, we don’t even know if there was a person on the other end of the phone. He may have just been feigning a phone call m——again, to fit in.
