Unfortunately, knowing tiktok, i think its the exact reason we think lol
Cannot exactly guess what it is but this article might be discussing it too?

However, the sentence that has left me KO is this: ''in a country where people have to call Ubers to the emergency room because their insurers won’t cover the ambulance ride'' and the part where it says families used to leave the deceased comments below his Linkedin posts begging for cancer treatment for their loved ones, not a single one replied to or acknowledged by anyone from the company (I am guessing someone at the top of the hierarchy has secretaries and people monitoring their social media accounts.)

Some of the comments families left:

Everything we've seen suggests genuine confidence. Call it flair or even panache. The apparently carefree attitude to the items left (phone, water), the decision to visit a Starbucks just minutes beforehand, the presence of witnesses (including someone standing close to Brian Thompson and the assassin during the shooting – the woman who flees), the casual departure on foot and bicycle, the choice of weapon (a gun that needed to be cleared after every single shot!), the choice of clothing, the smile in the stills. If the POI and the suspect are the same person, it's someone of unusual character.
There were also two SUVs with lights on parked right next to BT when he was shot. One of the drivers took a photo of the shooter as he was walking away.

CNN Guests:

If he had done this in Minnesota, his message never would have gotten across. Doing it this way got his message out there, despite the heightened risk.

Law enforcement expert says that he believes this is very personal to the killer. He may blame this company for harming someone close to him. He's probably watching the coverage and enjoying the fact that he's accomplished what he set out to do (get that message across).
All along I've felt this is NOT personal. His demeanor during the shooting, rapid and cool headed, showing no emotion made me think he treated this as a job, an exercise. Plus the smile incident. This guy didn't display the rage and inner turmoil I would have expected if it was personal.
But who knows?

one word: Bridge Guy
No one could ID him either.
But there wasn’t a clear shot of Bridge Guys’s face, only a fuzzy still showing his physical form, in baggy clothes. I think that anyone who sees this photo and knows the guy, will recognize him.

Hopefully, soon.

I read that he was staying at the Lux, a swanky hotel across the street and down from the Hilton about half a block.
What I don't understand is why he didn't just stay at the Hilton. We have stayed at that Hilton in the past and had an exquisite room. Seems like a hassle to be staying some other place than the meeting place (unless the hotel was full with those in town to watch the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller Center).

When we visited NYC at Christmastime one year, we stayed in NJ and took a transit bus to the Port Authority every day. Going to the City just once during Christmas was our goal even though we didn't like how crowded it was.

JMO.

@wibbleflea ITA with all of this. I also feel, somehow, that he expects to be caught, but every day he remains unidentified and at large has to be a "win" for him, as it's quantifying exponentially the attention being paid to his act and motive for it, both here and overseas. JMO.

I do think there was a point.
Yes, something about the way he went about this is highly unusual. I think that type of behaviour would be reflected in other areas of his life. Not one aspect of this was mundane, timid or desperate.

Someone suggested way back in the thread that perhaps the shooter himself was terminally ill so had nothing to lose. Perhaps he lost someone so important that he feels like nothing matters now and he needs to make this statement. Or he has good reason to believe he’ll get away with all this. We’ll see. There’s something behind this confident showmanship.

That's the story they want people to believe. I suspect this is much deeper and malevolent than an angry customer mad with the big bad insurance company. That is total BS designed for simpletons, imho.

If people are aware the gun is worth $5700, there might be a whole lotta folks looking for it.
I don’t know where the $5,700 came from (though I saw that number mentioned in an earlier post). I believe the B&S-USA Station Six - 9 can be purchased for about $2,200

popular pack- people like it
Also the descriptions at the website of the seller highlights its easy and fast access to contents. User reviews posted there back this up. Probably the reason he chose this for the lead up and hit itself then ditched it in favor of the nondescript black pack.

I think it's personal. And it's possible that he has been planning this a very long time. Maybe the rage has turned to determination.

snipped

Good insight! You're addressing what we've noticed in a roundabout way - this guy is not conventional.

It's not a typical book bag, rather, it's an expensive photographer's bag, with many padded compartments for lenses and heavy camera bodies. The company who makes the bag acknowledged it was one of theirs.

Because he’s the CEO and likes the Lux better.

Privacy - not running into people all the time that he has to converse with.

Personal Preference.

I saw this amount stated in a previous thread when the weapon was discussed.
I have no idea.

I worked at a very large corporation and everyone including the CEO always stayed at the hotel the company had an agreement with, regardless of the conference venue. In my case it was always a Marriott. I don’t know the UHC policy.

One of the best things about NYC to me is you can do you and nobody cares. People leave you be and are doing their own thing...with headphones on. You can disappear while walking in broad daylight in plain sight. As he proved.

This is why celebrities like to live here...they can just walk the streets because the city lets you be generally and everyone fits in because there is no set way to look like there.

What better place to do this than a city where you blend in by default.

Also, I don't think a lot of folks understand the mentality of walking in New York as a non tourist. Head down, mind your business and don't block the way. What stands out are tourists.. because they gawk.

Disclaimer..not a New Yorker but quite frequently there for work, so not a tourist.

Definitely true, from a New Yorker. And I love your avatar!!

But who knows?

He didn’t mean that he personally knew this guy or anything, just that the driving force was a grievance that was personal to him.

There was no overkill, and this was all business.

To me, this couldn’t be more clear. And this guy is saying exactly what I’ve always thought, at least since we heard about the writing on those rounds.

A hit wouldn’t be done this way.

Knocking off a love rival or something, wouldn’t be done this way.

Grievance with the company, or something more ideological. I’m going with the former.

Maybe most of the investors were staying there and he didn't want to be running into them in the hallways.

There is plenty of precedent for this sort of thing, as opposed to fantastical movie type scenarios that literally never happen.

There is so much activity here so this may have already been said but I think the delay, deny, depose is a red herring. Seems like all anyone talks about is.
Totally agree with you. It does seem like a personal act, but for different reasons... MOO
