There are plenty of suits walking around in Manhattan but the bullet casing words tell us this was targeted towards a top dog at UHC. Just because someone in a suit is walking towards the hotel where the investor conference is, the killer couldn’t assume that person is a top dog at UHC. It could have been an investor too. So this clearly means that a) he knew it was Thompson and that is who he is after. b) he knew what Thompson was wearing and at what exact minute he would show up there. We know he wasn’t physically stalking Thompson so either someone else gave him that info or he had some kind of phone hack on Thompson to be able to track him remotely. JMO

And a POWER bar wrapper. Interesting...
Ok I've narrowed it down. It's either T. Swift OR Nick Cage
Now on the 3rd day...NYC overnight 32 degrees....close to freezing cold! He is skinny, ectomorph body type (tall skinny thinker?)...they don't fair well in cold weather. If he is in town, he has a pre-planned place to stay. Since he tossed a burner phone, it only makes sense he was in contact with at least one other person. Ya' don't need a burner phone to keep track of time, that is what a watch is for!
Now that I have stated such, can anyone see if he has a watch visible on his wrist? Watches can contain losts of info: Expensive? Cheap? Time adjustment? Accuracy, settings, waterproof etc.
Other things noticed: Clean shaven (no fake hairie mustache, beard, side burns, goatee etc.) I would have glued on a goatee/moustache etc) so if I was asked to lower my mask, I would still have another layer of disguise. Also, would wear a reversible jacket so I could change the appearance of clothing quickly. Pleasee add or subtract to any of these thoughts...y'all are geniuses at adding to every possible idea. Love sleuths!!!
Could also be someone who regularly has a beard and shaved for this. Same effect. Lots of folks look vastly different after shaving lol

How in the world could they recover the specific water bottle he drank out of?

I want to see more evidence it was specifically targeted to BT vs any executive of UNH. BT may have just been the first executive looking person who walked into range. I am not saying it wasn't targeted to BT, I just haven't seen the evidence he was targeted.
How can one tell apart a random businessman in a suit from an executive?

Question:
Later that day/morning of the shooting, if was able to exit and he hopped on a flight leaving the country, would there be enough resolution in JFK, LGA and EWR airports to spot him?

  • #487
doubt it means anything. ethos is just a common water bottle sold at starbucks
Perhaps that is why the assassin went to Starbucks and only bought bottled water , no coffee. Knowing that is the brand they carried?

  • #488
Not sure. Maybe to leave dna? He left the phone behind too. Could be accidental could be deliberate. I do not have any clear idea of why these things would be left on purpose but it is a lot of stuff to drop.
If I speculate that Starbucks and the dropping of things were deliberate the killer seems less sloppy maybe more professional.
dropping a phone by accident makes no sense to me. the only way it makes sense is if it was deliberately done as some kind of decoy phone, or maybe a burner phone he knew had no useful info on it so it was just dead weight.

A gun purchase in Connecticut that the authorities were investigating this week turns out to have no connection to the shooting, a senior law enforcement official said. The official said the purchaser of the weapon, which resembled the gun used to kill Thompson, has been identified and is not a suspect.

By picking it up at the scene? I thoughts that what happened.

This is starting to appear like a hit masterminded by an elite libertarian hack group. It does not seem like a personal hit, but a corporate or systemic level hit. Witty might be next.
The gunman appears foreign and very refined in mannerisms, maybe French, he is probably out of the country by now.

Process of elimination. Camera resolution good enough to see the size bottle and brand name, which trash can it went into.

Most people aren't drinking water at that time.. coffee and tea probably.

Given the fact they've made it a multi-state investigation, and shared images across 80 major police departments across the US I would say LE have evidence to lead them to believe the suspect has already left NYC.

So will LE send the dna sample to 23 me for genealogy testing.

I think he is wearing a black balacalva, not a facemask.

Those cheap black COVID masks are a PITA. The strings break all the time and come off. There are fabric or elastic ones, too, but he would probably have to have a second facemask with him in case the first got torn or lost. He's been extremely careful about covering his face for the CCTV shots and I think he knew he could not rely on a simple black facemask.

The hostel face photo shows some bulky black fabric below his chin and on his neck, like a big thick turtleneck. It think it is actually a black balaclava with the mouthpart pulled down. We just can't see the top or side of it in the photo. If it was loose, it might not be so apparent, but I'd think the desk clerk would have been able to see it.

The shooter photos all show the generous single eye opening, and my impression is that there is a fabric on the side and on the forehead, just like a balaclava. He could travel with one and be confident it wasn't going to fall off. Most balaclavas are also fairly easy to talk through.

It might also give the impression that he had dark hair. His little mustache is light brown to reddish and I think he might be quite fair-complected. Another detail to mislead CCTV, giving the impression he has dark hair.

It was known where BT would be that fateful morning. How was it known about hotel location and time? Precise timing. moo

Just goes to show you we can't trust the news sources out there.

They are rushing to get the latest news from un-named sources and the information is either inaccurate or misunderstood by the media.

I have the same question- how on earth, several hours later, in NYC, do you pull out that water bottle from the garbage with any level of certainty. Even if the arriving police officers were prescient enough to gather every garbage bag as soon as they arrived and sealed them up.

Lots of Southerners, from deep Texas, work on not speaking with the Southern accent when out of their area of living. It seems that the trend is to lose it even in school.

(Responding in general, not specifically to you.)

Yes, some Southerners have an accent. But many do not have a discernible accent. Atlanta, which now seems to be possibly linked in some way, is home to CNN (news anchors often have the "General American" accent which focuses on a neutral accent) & the world's busiest airport, alongside being a major business hub. So, at least in Atlanta, there are many with either no discernible accents or a variety of accents (from all areas of the US as well as internationally). Jmo.
