I’ve thought all along that he had an accomplice, likely inside the hotel, because, especially, the timing of killer’s arrival and BT leaving hotel was very close, and because he was captured on camera talking (or appearing to talk) on the phone minutes beforehand. Also, how would he know that BT was sans security that morning. Certainly, it’s possible he made an educated guess if he’d been surveilling him for the last 24 hours or so, who knows?

The big problem I see with the scenario of an accomplice (especially one at the hotel) at this point is: Wouldn’t they know exactly who the accomplice is by now? Maybe they do and haven’t told us, but the way this investigation is going, I’d think we would know. Hotels have cameras everywhere, and I’d think the whole accomplice idea is something LE would want to rule out early on. I’d think camera/video footage and employees would have been scrutinized very early on. I could be wrong, though.
Accomplices on scene get you caught. I’d think they did everything possible to avoid this scenario.
I believe he had help/connections, but I’m going with no accomplice on scene.

I think the perp is fair-haired. Thin athletic build, like a runner. Probably a solitary athlete, not the kind of guy in teams sports.

Very smart, extremely detailed, likes nice things, but not stupid expensive things. Does not feel he has to compromise on anything. Has a very high opinion of himself, to the point that it antagonizes co-workers. I'd think he was in IT, or the like where he generally works by himself and does not socialize with co-workers. Probably feels that he is certainly not appreciated by co-workers or others.

I don't think he has a girlfriend. Maybe a boyfriend or intermittent partner, but not a homebody.

He's not a backwoodsman, and probably lives in an urban area by the nature of his clothing.

His assistant surely has all that info.

These events with CEOs are planned well in advance; the plane tickets, hotel reservations, etc. All the arrangements were already in place long before the event date.
Question : Online, though ?
Or anywhere that the public could access ?
Omo.

CNN also saying he was last seen when he took a taxi 90 blocks to the GW bridge bus station.

The itineraries / calendars of corporate CEOs are not available to the public. There is no way some rando would know Brian Thompson would be at an investor's conference on 12/04 at the Hilton in NYC. He had inside information.
Investor conferences are very public. Even if they aren’t public, many people at his company could probably access his calendar.

Point I am trying to make is that this guy didn’t know what BT didn’t likely know 10 days early. BTs admin likely knew, and sent him the itinerary but I bet if you asked him 3 days before he didn’t know where he was staying or which door he would use. The perp was there to get whomever he could get.

No one wears a mask any more. That alone makes him look suspicious.
I do! All the time, especially when it’s 23 degrees out. Way less suspicious post-Covid. In NYC no one notices masks or cares much these days.

True, but I think that's a balaclava and he wears it for warmth. Can easily be pulled up to look like a nondescript black knit cap. We would otherwise know the color of his hair. I think you can see the sides of the knit headgear in one of the hostel photos. I think that's part of the disguise, his hair is fair- like light sandy brown or slightly reddish.

I think he certainly wants his crime and his cleverness to be known. I see a cat-and-mouse kind of thing going on. He's playing games with LE and following from afar.

Had he carried an ordinary black backpack like the one he arrived in NYC with, it would be a very different story in trying to find it.
(Snipped. My emphasis.)

Completely agreed with this. No timidity. The shooter is operating with zest and and not hiding it. Perhaps he feels he has nothing further to lose in life or that he is safe, for reasons that aren’t clear to us yet.

"A heavy object" maybe that's the gun...
I think the gun is probably in that bag. “heavy object” sounds more substantial than a gun to me. Don’t have a clue what it might be though.

Not, as reported, if he apparently knew this 10 days prior. The perp apparently went directly to this site when he arrived in NY. At that point I doubt that BT knew where he was staying.
Disagree on this. Investor meetings are planned well in advance with spaces reserved often months to a year in advance. I would be shocked if BT’s hotel wasn’t also booked months ago.

"Some knowledge is open, some is hidden and some reflects a duality- neither hot, nor cold, neither light not dark"

And phony mysticism aside.... You are evidently right in the broad sense, but then "usually" based extrapolations come in. For example:

- The Investment Conference was publicized. Usually, a company's CEO will attend.
- If the Conference's agenda was not published- usually, they start in the morning. 8:00- 9:00 is a common start time.
- Usually, the CEO arrives early. But.... since he is the star of the show, he is probably not getting there at 0500 to sweat set up details. Rather, an hour or so early is a solid estimate.

If the murderer had befriended somebody "in the know"- or had say, surfed business gossip forums, even more "usuallys" might be obtained:

- Usually, the CEO does not stay at the same hotel as the conference.
- Luxury Hotel "X", close to the Hilton, is a common NYC CEO stop over.
- Business oriented hotels, luxury resorts, casinos etc. favored by CEOS, sports super stars and Hollywood "whose who" (current list- not the faded list) usually have VIP side entrances for those preferring discrete exits and entrances.

Wonder what's in the backpack, it looks stuffed. He could have been a photographer, that's an expensive backpack, built for carrying heavy cameras and lenses. Hope investigators are provided with new clues and evidence. "Technicians entered a wooded area in the southern end of the park to photograph and collect evidence, including what appeared to be clothing and a heavy object, placing them into bag. Source: NYT

Taking a taxi means he avoids the CCTV camera problem for a while. However, the number(s) on the taxi could be easily traceable.
