The itineraries / calendars of corporate CEOs are not available to the public. There is no way some rando would know Brian Thompson would be at an investor's conference on 12/04 at the Hilton in NYC. He had inside information.

He could have known the date and starting time of the conference in advance, but he had more info than that, clearly.

The following info was publicized in advance:

I think the gun is probably in that bag. “heavy object” sounds more substantial than a gun to me. Don’t have a clue what it might be though.
I hope it's not full of rocks and nothing else...as a fu to the authorities.
I'd put nothing past this guy.

this is on my local news in Atlanta. Its also being reported on CNN
It looks like there is stuff still in there. Maybe his plan was to change clothes, but decided he didn't have the time and just ditched the one thing that mostly identified him.

Taking a taxi means he avoids the CCTV camera problem for a while. However, the number(s) on the taxi could be easily traceable.
All NYC taxis are required to have a CCTV camera.

Investor conferences are very public. Even if they aren’t public, many people at his company could probably access his calendar.
Agree he could’ve known the conference was on but how did he know to be on that street at that time? Which of the many doors BT could walk out?
I still can’t figure this bit out!

Most definitely he did.

Only his Executive Assistant. In corporations, the CEO calendars are not available to all the employees.

Surely this guy hasn't planned this all out, managed to evade capture or even being named for 3 days after committing a murder in one of the most surveilled cities in the world, for him to dump a bag full of incriminating evidence. Hmm..

Heavy object - unlikely to be bike battery. He was sill riding the bike when he left the park.

Wonderful. I hope there is footage of him in the taxi and the driver can remember details like accent, phrasing, behaviour.

I’m not American but is there a close non-extradition country known for criminals to flee to on the East Coast? I’m thinking how all the Hollywood movies show them fleeing across the Mexico border to safety. What’s the equivalent for NYC? Humor me :D
I wondered about Canada since he went north to a further north Port Authority

Yes, & I have only seen pics of the tan colored backpack ?
Haven't seen any photos of the black one.
Unless it's been posted and I missed it.
The thread is moving so swiftly I go away for a bit, and it's nearly at the end of the thread.

Bbm.

Yeah, could be a valid motive.
Imo.

If Brian is deceased does the lawsuit with DOJ still move forward without him?
Possibly someone was afraid he'd snitch at his DOJ meeting?

I still question why he was on the phone right before he went over there.

I firmly believe this is a revenge murder. The suspect is young, I’m thinking he has a close family member who lost their life due to denial of medical care. He is deeply hurt emotionally and angry over their death.

Working in HC, I’ve seen the emotional side when an insurance says NO. It’s devastating. We’ve all seen the crowd source funding for kids in desperate, life threatening need of unapproved care. It’s changes a person.

All my opinion …
I agree with you. I think if there is any accomplice, it will be a sibling.

Not, as reported, if he apparently knew this 10 days prior. The perp apparently went directly to this site when he arrived in NY. At that point I doubt that BT knew where he was staying.
Barring some snafu, there’s no way BT had only booked the hotel less than 10 days before the meeting. Business trips are always planned out months in advance.

Disagree on this. Investor meetings are planned well in advance with spaces reserved often months to a year in advance. I would be shocked if BT’s hotel wasn’t also booked months ago.
I am sure it was booked. But his admin manages his calendar, not him. He didn’t even look where he was staying until a few days before. According the NYC news I just watched this perp went straight to that door of the Hilton when he arrived in NY and stood there for 30 min. How would he know? If this was planned it was very well orchestrated from someone very close. BT didn’t know he would use that door to get to the conference ten days before he was killed, he didn’t know he would be alone. The killer couldn’t have known that either. The were lying in wait for whoever came along. MOO

CNN said he left the park at 77th, rode to 86th st and grabbed a cab to the GW bus terminal (about 5 mi away)

This is mostly really easy.
All he would have needed to do to be invited to the investor meeting, and receive the agenda, etc., was buy some shares in one of the companies, and voilá!
He or someone he knows or hires would have been an invitee.

They may not have had travel specifics, but would have known which day and at what time he’d have been speaking that day…

No one wears a mask any more. That alone makes him look suspicious.

I disagree I see them every day even before COVID, especially when cold out and riding a bike. Gaiters to protect your lungs from the cold air.
