If this truly was targeted, I wonder how the shooter even recognized the particular victim - the only video I've seen shows the shooter approached from behind. When did he have the opportunity to see the victim's face before the first shot?
Yes, it was from behind. However, my interpretation of the very short clip was the shooter was between 2 cars at the curb (my guess at what was at the curb), which means he could see him as he approached and able to see his face. It's when BT passes him is when the shooter steps out behind him and shoots. So yes, from behind, but after watching BT approach and pass him. JMO of how events played out from viewing the short clip in the video.

Yes, it was a California Firefighters Pension Fund that sued the company in May of this year for insider trading. The claim specifically mentions Thompson, Andrew Witty (who made the brief video expressing his sorrow over the death of BT) and Stephen Hemsley. I wonder if any representatives of the pension fund were invited to this conference?

Thanks for posting. Earlier when I posted about Optum and the four countries it operated in. Someone reponded and said Optum has a separate CEO and Brian had no part of it’s operations.

But this article about the lawsuit specifically mentions a merger between a new acquisition (Change) and Optum? All this under the banner of UH. Am I misunderstanding the article? It’s late I’m a little foggy lol.

The shooter came from the street. He was possibly watching from across the street in front of the Ziegfeld. There were two paths BT could have walked. Crossing immediately from his hotel to the sidewalk that Hilton is on or walking all the way down past the Ziegfeld and crossing on the Main Street which the front of the Hilton is on. If the shooter was in front of the Ziegfeld and watched the door of the Lux he would see BT coming out and crossing the street and walk towards the Hilton. The shooter would hurriedly cross in the middle of the street. The other option would be the shooter crouched between cars on the street after he saw BT coming. He then steps to the sidewalk and shoots him.

My question as I drift off to sleep before (groan) another Monday is if his hostel roommates or others saw his hair or if he kept it covered the whole time. Wearing a beanie inside isn’t unusual these days. Wondering if anyone saw what it looks like — shade, curly, straight, thick, thin, length — not that he couldn’t change it. But change of hair would be noticeable to anyone he’s going back to.

Is there a source for this?
No, moo, thus ?
Another question I have; did the perp check outta the hostel on 12/4? He woulda been surveying his target the day prior, gathering intel, looking for a lucky shot—(and prolly on video all day on block)—if not the day before, on the victims arrival.
If he missed his opportunity in the early am—did he consider this his last/best/only chance with plans to exit the city that morning, or was he willing to try again later in day and, if unsuccessful, retreat back to pre-paid hostel and hope for lucky shot on departure?

I would think he would take it off to sleep or shower but apparently he slept with the mask on too so who knows. Sounds so uncomfortable to sleep like that

I think he could fly to Canada and then from there, fly to another country. I don't think it's an absurd idea and puts distance between him and NYC quickly.

But, I am thinking he went to Newark and flew from there.

Of course, I have no idea.

My only hesitation to say he flew anywhere is that it puts him in a vulnerable position. I guess a direct flight to a country without an extradition treaty is possible but with people on the plane having WiFi access, it feels like a risky maneuver to be locked in an aluminum tube for several hours with nowhere to escape to.

On my timeline I have:

Nov. 29
The man was checked out of the hostel, where guests are automatically checked out if they don’t show at the desk by a certain time. Police don’t believe he stayed someplace else and checked back into the same hostel the next day.

It sounds like he came back way later than check in time that night. From there he resumed his stay. (10 days altogether).

That said, I think he never checked out after the shooting. He just never went back.

On the Investors Conference website it showed UHG, Optum, and UHC as three separate entities. If I understand correctly, UHG is the parent company under which the other two operate.

This might help. UNH is Optum's parent company. Optum and Change merged in October of 2022. That's the connection between the 3.

Optum has completed its $7.8 billion merger with Change Healthcare. Optum's parent company, UnitedHealth Group, completed the acquisition Oct. 3, which merges Optum with healthcare data and analytics giant Change Healthcare, according to an Oct. 3 press release. The acquisition allows Optum to gain access to data from millions of healthcare transactions covering a broad swath of the U.S. population.

Change's CEO is Neil de Crescenzo. SOURCE

Not if he has a beard now and is not wearing a hoodie and dressed completely differently than how he dressed in NYC. If his passport has a different name than the fake id he presented, then it was low risk that he would be outed. He knew he had never been photographed in NYC with his beard and hair in full display. So, not zero risk but low risk

One thing I will say.... this guy will have to be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. The US Marshals service will never give up trying to find this guy. They are extremely persistent and given how high-profile this is, he will always be a top priority.

Reading their website - Fugitive Investigations | U.S. Marshals Service - it says there were 772 international removals (extraditions, deportations, and expulsions) in 2023 made by the Marshals.

It's called Shotspotter, and lots of cities use it. It doesn't always work, and it may not have picked up these gunshots because of the suppressor. It wouldn't have mattered though, even if police did arrive a minute or two sooner, this guy was dead and the killer was gone.
My city uses Shotspotter and it's been very beneficial. It can distinguish between fireworks and gunshots! Now I have to Google and find out if it can detect suppressed gunshots. ETA: Yes it can, here's the link from their website: https://www.norristown.org/DocumentCenter/View/5631/ShotSpotter-FAQ

Exactly. It's not known to where he traveled, or how.
He CAME to NYC by a bus that originated in Atlanta, but it's not confirmed anywhere that he went back to Atlanta. I would highly doubt that anyway, with investigators crawling around that city.
I've been incrementally skipping a few pages per thread since Friday--apologies if this question has been exhausted. I know about the arrival to NYC via bus *ORIGINATING* from Atlanta. I'm wondering if I've been misinterpreting the wording to be a definitive that *HE* also originated from ATL, or if its possible he caught it somewhere along the route up the coast? Also, could he have transferred in Atlanta [from another route] but went unnoticed until departing from Atlanta or one of the stops along the way? Could he have been on bus originating n Atlanta-->Port Authority via another optional route that stops in Newark? I could go on lol. I'm not sure of the best way to include a link of the route options.

Speaking of wording, I think I confused myself with what I just typed.

I wonder if there was a bus going to Toronto around the time he arrived at terminal. He may have left the country and actually has a visa or passport. To be honest this was a planned out shooting. He could have taken the bus from anywhere to Atlanta and then switched buses in Atlanta to come to NYC. We don't even know his name or anything about him. I do believe he's of western asian descent Levant region from photos we've seen and there is a large community in Toronto
I just posted something similar; I'm hyper fixating on this detail.

and yes, it's possible he came from elsewhere before and IF he boarded the bus in Atlanta
eta...also he could have come from anywhere to board that bus at one of the stops on the route before reaching NYC

Wait, are the Marshalls now involved? I think I missed that today.
