An ID at McDonalds??? That's odd.
Maybe he was trying to use a stolen credit card and they asked for id...Why would he need fake ID in McDonalds? they don’t sell alcohol or anything
Just saw that over on X.More details:
A person of interest was nabbed Monday in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson — busted possibly trying to use a fake ID in a McDonald’s, law-enforcement sources said.
The man — who sources said is being eyed for the coldblooded, targeted execution in front of a Manhattan hotel last week — allegedly had a manifesto on him when he was taken into custody by cops in Altoona, Pa.
He also had a gun, silencer, four fake IDs and other items “consistent” with what authorities were looking for in the case, sources said.
Law enforcement were still trying to figure out the man’s real identity, sources said.
He was nabbed on a tip called into local cops, who then apprehended him, sources said.

That’s how they’d catch me. I’ll be known as the McDouble Killer.”What is it with this guy and McDonald’s?
Why would McDonald's require an ID?More details:

What did he need an ID in McDonald’s for? Hm. Very odd to still be carrying all of those items.
I wonder if he was trying to use a credit card and they got suspicious for some reason and asked to see an ID?Only thing I can think of is he might have been applying to work there, only situation can think of where ID needed
he absolutely wanted it found. it definitely was placed there and not thrownDoes anyone find his placement of the bag of clothing and the backpack a bit suss? Why wouldn't he have put them in a trash can instead of "gently" placing them on the ground? It's like he is playing cat and mouse.
I never believed this guy to have an accomplice. I mean, what accomplice is going to have a manifesto and the murder weapon.Just saw that over on X.
Could be someone related to the crime? The elusive accomplice?
I've worked w CEOs with big egos. Some wouldn't carry a thing to meetings. Doing so at that level makes a statement; IMO it's flaunting the arrogance of superiority. Also don't think someone with such arrogance and greed (not saying he was) wouldn't give a da*n about funds his family would receive. I was married to one. Only thing that mattered was him and HIS money. Even our son didn't matter when it came to money. IHitman may be from outside the US. Chance to go visit NYC for a bit because he knew as soon as he did his hit job, he would have to bolt ASAP. BT set it up because he knew he was being investigated for insider trading. He had cashed in millions of $$. Afraid his boys would be left with nothing if government siezed the money. Plus he did not want to go to jail again (DUI years ago). Plus he did not want the shame of his boys knowing he did something illegal. He was hoping he could set it up that it looked like someone disgruntled with the insurance industry. And did not want to do it in Minnesota where he knew his wife and sons would be too close, possibly end up having to show up at crime scene. NYC gave him a buffer of them not seeing crime scene as well as no one they knew would be involved in crime scene: paramedics, police officers, etc. I think he hired someone from out of the country, which is why no one seems to know who this guy. Even his fingerprints and DNA have not been found in police database. Hitman casually went to Starbucks right before hit. Not concerned at all about missing BT. BT put on a bright blue jacket that morning. I think he called hitman and said "Okay, I'm walking out of hotel in five minutes with bright blue jacket on." I believe BT walked out of hotel and shooter came from BEHIND and shot him. He didn't see this guy from the front. He KNEW this was the guy without seeing his face. It was the jacket. No one would know what BT was wearing that morning except for BT. Hitman literally got to the hiding spot by the SUV five minutes before BT walked out the door. BT did not have an overcoat. No laptop bag. No briefcase. BT knew he did not need those that morning. A 50 year old CEO does not go to an out of town conference without a laptop. Period.
Perhaps he was using a payment method that caused an issue. It could also be related to using McDonald's smartphone app.I have never had to use an ID in McDonald’s. Odd…
I don't frequent McDonald's; did they institute a show-your-ID policy? Or was this in connection to the use of a credit/debit card?More details:

the only thing i can think of would be if he tried paying with a check...lolWhy would McDonald's require an ID?
Poor journalism, IMHO. My interpretation is that he was stopped at a McDonalds, and found to have a fake ID as well as that distinctive gun. MOO.Why would he need fake ID in McDonalds? they don’t sell alcohol or anything
