Can't wait to have a name, background, heritage, mugshot and motive. Especially after all the speculation in the last 6 threads.

On the national news, he is in custody, has the weapon.
Justice for Brian Thompson!
And for his family on the day of BT's burial, this has to be some relief, in spite of their pain as they lay their dear father, husband, friend, colleague to rest.

I don’t know but I’m willing to bet he spent a little time last night posting on this thread. Lol. people on last night will know what I’m referring to.
Yes, I saw that, and I think you are spot on!

Alright, I am eating a whole plate full of crow...but it always tastes great when there's a killer who's been caught.
Garden variety moron, still had the suppressor and a load of fake IDs. Oy vey.

I can't wait to learn more.

He’s one article. Sorry, I’m trying to work and pay attention at the same time. Ugh UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting latest: Man being held for questioning in Pennsylvania, sources say
I just got an email update from the Times, too. Edit: I see @CrimeDawg123 shared this too. Great minds... ;)
(Gifted article w/o paywall.)

I'm waiting for leaks about what's in the quasi-manifesto.

Lesson for law enforcement though- this guy would have gotten away with this if he had not shown his face to anyone and not left any DNA at the scene. Both of which he could easily have done. In spite of having 40,000 cameras in NYC it was only because he screwed up that they got his picture, that led to him being captured.
there's simply no way to check into a hostel/hotel in NYC while being fully masked. as it should be. the guy would have had to plan to live like a homeless person if he wanted to wear a mask 24/7.

Yes, I was suspect of someone also. I wouldn't be surprised if he was here.. posting or just reading.

I think it was the McDonalds employee who phoned the police, not the elderly customer, if the customer phoned police in the same room where a cold blooded killer is standing he/she has incredible balls, the McDonalds employee would have gone back of house into the office to call, safer
JMO… Either one of those are the two types of people I am personally very happy to see the reward money go to. Besides the obvious fact that they did the right thing and called the police to report someone matching the suspects description which has led to his arrest… I can just imagine $60,000 can be life changing for a McDonald’s employee or an elderly bystander. They absolutely deserve it.

Fingers crossed this is the UHC Killer and one of these deserving tipsters actually receives the reward they earned.

Long time reader, first time poster:
If the PA guy is the right guy, it is absolutely baffling to me that someone who was so thoughtful and meticulous in planning their hit - THEN turns around and a) stays in the NE b) keeps THE weapon and fake ID's on them. Wow!

For those who believe he needed to get caught for the notoriety or for the opportunity to explain himself ...why not just mail a 'manifesto' to the NYT?

Former LEO, and this is one of the most intriguing 'stranger' murders I have seen in a long time. Thanks for letting me join your community.

I've worked w CEOs with big egos. Some wouldn't carry a thing to meetings. Doing so at that level makes a statement; IMO it's flaunting the arrogance of superiority. Also don't think someone with such arrogance and greed (not saying he was) wouldn't give a da*n about funds his family would receive. I was married to one. Only thing that mattered was him and HIS money. Even our son didn't matter when it came to money. I

Not carrying a briefcase or laptop to a meeting has nothing to do with "making a statement." Modern technology has made that unnecessary.

I'm sorry about your experience, but generalizing it to CEOs everywhere isn't very accurate in my experience working closely with many CEOs.

Were there case developments last night in the thread that are still there today?

Perhaps he was using a payment method that caused an issue. It could also be related to using McDonald's smartphone app.
That's what I was thinking.
