According to Alex Caprariello's clip [linked above] LM interrupted his attorney [T. Dickey] and his attorney got real sharp with LM and stated no, no, no, dont speak at all!

I suspect, LM, is extremely angry he got caught. moo

I can't imagine he transported the gun from Hawaii, as that would involve taking it on a plane. I think he built it somewhere on the mainland after his surgery (likely in Pennsylvania or Maryland). We know he disappeared for a while, so the question is where he disappeared to.

Jumping off this post - but as always posing the question broadly:

What would be the steps to attempt to backtrack the making of a Ghost Gun?
Could they:
Identify the materials by composition and specific color and track down the manufacturer of that specific material and work forward from there?

There will be a way for them to figure out where it was printed. It just may take some time.

I'm two threads behind, so my apologies if this has already been hashed out (I'm sure it has).

In thinking about what happened to him to provoke this crime, I believe he is a narcissist (not a new theory) who on paper and in pictures was pretty darned perfect. Then he had the back injury but the surgery did not completely fix him. Now he's not perfect. He has chronic pain and some loss of function (per various reports). UHC is responsible for his flaws.

This is all down to narcissistic injury, IMO.

Ok now back to thread 7. :p

LE are on alert for copycat crimes which threaten corporate executives and their families.

"In Chicago on Monday, a sign that said 'Deny Defend Depose' was hung on a bridge spanning the city's iconic DuSable Lake Shore Drive."

Also in Chicago, LE launched an investigation after someone spray painted "Kill your CEO" on several businesses on the northside.

I thought he went off the grid in June 2024? That’s the last time he tweeted and the reports say he was missing for months.
Thank you for the correction

I guess they believe he printed it himself, along with the silencer. The metal components would have likely been purchased online, so there's a decent chance they can track that. It really doesn't further the investigation much though. All that matters is the gun in his bag matches the ballistics from the recovered rounds.

I am thinking whatever outrage he has had for several months (at least) isn't going to dissipate quickly! He has needed therapy for a long time. MOO

He tried to check into a motel in Altoona prior to his Mcdonalds apprehension.

This all feels very performative to me and lots of people are eating it up because "eat the rich". We are talking about a very privileged guy, who in fact had access to any and all health care he might have needed. Come on. For the U.S. to have public health care, available to all, it needs to be implemented by the government, period. That's what other countries did decades ago. It's politics, and the U.S. keeps getting what they vote for.

Why was he going to hang around Altoona? Thankfully he screwed up his patient planning.

That would only protect against people mad about their health coverage, though. The shooter here would not fit into that category, along with many other people that decide to kill high-profile individuals for one reason or another.

JMO

Access to health care is a particularly emotive subject though.
If the CEO of Progressive had been assassinated by someone angry that their Kia was denied comprehensive coverage, would we be seeing the widespread sympathy with the shooter we have on social media? Would we see people justifiying it with comments like "Well, she's a murderer too, so who cares?"

I don't think we'll see a wave of copy-cats targeting executives in other industries.

Cowards shoot people in the back - Luigi should get no more air time until his trial.
It's not a gentleman's duel. His goal was to depose a CEO by murdering him and thereby burst the dam of public sentiment.

DNA may take some time. NY will have to file a motion to compel a buccal swab, which I would expect defense counsel to object to.
I’m pretty sure they’d just need to get a search warrant, which is ex parte and they have plenty of probable cause for. The defense attorney wouldn’t be able to do much.

unless he made it, he had to buy it so there is a transaction...probably not a bag of $ in an alley... but maybe he did buy it "on the street"

or use his McD's wrappers... at what point were they discarded?

The motion to compel a buccal swab is essentially a “search warrant” to obtain someone’s DNA. Very routine in NY, but not an ex parte proceeding. The motion will definitely be granted, but I’m saying it may take some time because the defense will likely want a chance to oppose.

ETA: I am a criminal defense attorney awaiting verification, so take me with a grain of salt until that happens!

do the 3D printing machines have a "cache" like a lot of other machines? maybe a record of the parts printed by whom and when.

His trial lawyer's going to have a rough go with this case. ;)
I'm sure it will be a headline grabbing showboat that will make a spectacle of the proceedings. ...ugh
