He appears to comment about how he was vastly improved after the surgery after a week and was doing well. Poster Jamie737, above, helpfully mentions that even early recovery from this complex and painful surgery takes 6-8 weeks.

He seems to be to be the impatient type, who won't follow orders for rest or rehab, but jumps ahead into activities without proper caution. I would wonder if he actually did some damage or more injury by prematurely returning to activities. All coached by his reliance on posting boards about his disease.
Bingo...I just commented that he likely felt good after being on forced rest. Young people recover from physical trauma of surgery much more quickly than us old people....

This type of surgery takes more than 6-8 weeks. Maybe after 6 weeks, driving can be resumed, but the rehab is very long term.

Yeah, the criminal mastermind determined that putting on a brown knit cap was going to completely change his appearance.
To be fair, I don't think I would have recognized him and I'm impressed the person who recognized him was able to do so. But yeah, doesn't seem like much effort was made on LM's part.

Watching MSNBC right now and Andrea Mitchell talking about his severe back pain. I can see now this back issue will be part of his defense----

I’ve noticed the photo several times, which initially promoted me to wonder if I should have my vision checked. But no, regardless of the media source each time I can’t unsee how his front teeth oddly stand out. It’s as if he has a six teeth fake overlay that doesn’t match the rest of his teeth because they’re too high. What’s with that?

My best guess is he had his front teeth knocked out and is in the process of getting implants and meanwhile is miswearing a dental bridge?

A dog walker in New York is claiming he found a bag of bullets.
What source did this come from. Can you please post a link if you have it? Thank you

Oh, ok.
Thanks for clarifying. ^^^

So you're saying what LM is suffering from is Spondylolisthesis, and not Ankylosing Spondylitis ?
I didn't know that. Now I do.
Some of the graphics showing the procedure for A.S. do look somewhat similar.

I'm still not convinced LM is being wholly truthful.
Imo.
He definitely has Spondylolisthesis - the vertebral ‘step’ is clear (and one does not try and fix that with surgery)

All LM has done is make healthcare more expensive, the typical celeb pays £2-3m a year for a 2-3 man personal protection team, assuming that is the going rate in the protection industry it will probably cost most healthcare companies £20-30m to protect its board members at work and at home, and on business trips, healthcare companies will pass that cost on to the consumer

I just searched "Luigi Mangione dog walker" and could only find one outlet reporting on it (Fox 5 ATL) - not sure if it's an approved source here

I wish he could read and digest this.
I don't know what it will take to undo the indoctrination. Since he is going to be in prison, he will find many others with warped thinking and spouting about the injustices in this world.

Yes! I thought it was only me. Something not right with these teeth.

My mind keeps going back to him keeping the gun he used. Why would he do that? There had to be a reason. I'd have thought he'd have gotten rid of it in a way he figured it couldn't be found, yet he kept it.

I keep wondering if he was considering suicide on his own, or suicide by cops. Was he considering a shootout with LE to go down in a blaze of gunfire? If so, it appears he didn't even go for the gun when LE approached him or we'd have heard about that. So was it suicide? Or something as simple as protection?

FOX 5 NY has exclusively learned that police say the person was walking near East 81st and 85th Street when they saw the bag, noticing writing on it that mirrors markings found on shell casings in Midtown the morning of Thompson’s shooting.

I think he will be kept in solitary confinement

1) Many prisoners have kids and will be angry at the thought of 2 kids being left without a dad, they have made bad life choices ending up in jail but protective of their kids

2) He is a national celeb now, one of most high profile prisoners in the country, that makes a very big target on his back for a prisoner after a bit of fame/notoriety

He gets a jail sentence he will not mix with the other prisoners imho

In the months leading up to the high-profile murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York, accused killer Luigi Mangione was living nearly half the world away — in a high-rise Honolulu, Hawaii apartment, The Post has learned.

The nearly 1,000-square-foot corner unit at 801 South St. features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and sweeping views stretching out to the surrounding mountains. The monthly sum he paid isn’t clear, though several listings portals, such as Zillow and Redfin, estimate it rented for roughly $4,000 per month.

It’s unclear if Mangione, who records show moved into the apartment in February, had a roommate or lived alone.
I hope he enjoyed the view. Not sure what his view will be from his cell at Rikers while he is awaiting his trial once he is extradited to New York, if he even has a window.

My guess is that he thought he would be dead by now. I am amazed he isn't. WIth the cameras everywhere and the sheer mass of people in that area of NY at this time of year mulling around even at that hour - I don't know why he got away.

It seems his planning did not take into account getting away from the scene unscathed. He appeared pretty adrift when apprehended. Hard to say where the ugly anger is coming from. Since I believe he had no plans to be captured,it seems he may be in what looks like a total mental collapse or just coming off drugs he was addicted to - that should become clear shortly. You really do get that monster uglyl ooking anger when you stop your drugs.

I agree with @waldojabba. I suspect he thought he was going to be shot and killed by NYPD before leaving NYC. And when that didn’t happen, he didn’t have much of a plan for what he would do post murder. Almost like he had lost his motivation.
