From the link above regarding the family inheritance. I am sure the trustees will do all they can to help save LM to a point. I would love to see the documents that were alluded to in the article about the grandmother's will. That article is interesting, from a victims perspective it could temper the thought of a wrongful death lawsuit. There are a lot of family members in the M family, I can only imagine how disgusted they are to have their family business shared and scrutinized all over the media. From what I have read they were proud of their name and legacy of community service and giving.

BBM Same! That article says at least 30mm or upwards to 100mm left to 10 siblings and no telling how many grandchildren. I imagine it's a pretty significant number. He's probably getting his trust distributions and the original trust is being managed by the trustees, one of which is his father. It would be interesting to see how it's structured. I doubt he's gotten it all since there's trustees involved.
All just my speculation.

I think it is more likely the inheritance of his grandmother went to her kids, not grandkids. The grandkids will ultimately receive that money when their parents die.

I wouldn’t dismiss anything involving LM’s cash flow as irrelevant at this time. IMO, stick with your gut and put it on the side burner for a bit

I think you might have somewhat misunderstood parts of my brain spew. I completely understand the mass public reaction to this case. Whilst I believe that every human life is worth (some) empathy I can totally understand why not everyone is reaching for the tissues... People aren't seeing the man, the husband father brother son, they're seeing the public head of a dragon that breathes it's firey destructive breath on so many people, leaving absolute devastation in its wake. They don't see the man, they see the corporation and unfortunately he made the choice to be the public face for that greedy corporation. I'm not saying that in any way justifies his murder as imo it doesn't, I'm just saying that I understand why Joe Public isn't crying a river over a multi millionaire stranger who ultimately sanctioned millions of people's doom being killed.
As for LM himself, I'm personally confuddled to heck over him. Part of me believes that he must have some underlying issues to even be able to be pushed to this extreme, be that something undiagnosed, or chronic pain from a longstanding issue that was worsened by an accident and surgery. Another part thinks maybe that he simply just had enough of the way things are and wanted to light a fire under it in the only way he thought would and the pathway to violence was always going that way. There's so many questions as it's a very bizarre one... Did he plan to get caught? Did he want to? Was he planning on finding another? There's just so many questions which hopefully some will be answered at trial so lessons can be learnt for the future. I think it's a tad unfair that you can just presume someone's pain though. You, me or nobody here knows what pain this man did or didn't go through during all 24hrs of the day or how it impacted him and his mindset.

Ultimately though the system is diabolical. Suits with zero knowledge of medical care deciding people's fates based on cruddy checklists and downright greed, making megabucks doing so. Physicians who have spent their whole lives studying and getting into debt to help people and save lives only to be told who they can and who they cannot help, leaving their hands tied and their hearts broken. Then we have the people - you, your family, friends, neighbours, colleagues, all whose fates lie in the hands of these companies who ruin lives whilst lining their board and higher managements pockets. It's absurd and something needs to change, so yah I ultimately understand why extreme measures were taken to attempt to make a dent in the wall. Understanding and condoning are two entirely different things... I understand it, not condone it and tbh I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner.

*I'm from England btw, I don't have first hand knowledge of what it's like for you American guys but I have family and friends stateside, two of whom are medical professionals (paediatric surgeon and psychiatrist) so I do have some personal insight as to that side. All of this has made me feel so damn fortunate for our NHS which ofc has it's faults, but the fact that we don't have to worry about not being able to afford to call an ambulance for our unwell baby whilst so many across the pond do is astounding.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply and I enjoyed reading your characterization of our healthcare system. When I was growing up in the US, all I heard was ‘get a job with good insurance’ and most of us did just that, even though it seemed like overkill at the time. Who in their 20s is thinking about cancer or hip surgery? That insurance and Medicare paid for surgeries, cancer treatments, heart valves, hospitalizations for myself and family. Every year, Premiums go up, coverage shrinks and there is another form to fill out at every doctor’s office but for a lot of us, it’s cheaper in the long run, especially if there is a catastrophic illness. Obviously, it is a new era and companies aren’t offering employees generous benefits that include low cost health insurance. And, from what I’m reading, those with insurance are being denied coverage for surgeries and life saving procedures. Of course it’s deplorable and I’m angry on behalf of anyone who has been affected.
What I don’t understand is how shooting this one CEO is addressing the complex relationship of government regulations, big Pharma and insurance companies and how they are mismanaging the healthcare in US.
MSM and SM will spin as they do, but I’m looking for facts.
Like you, I don’t understand him, his plan, his end game. (I DO suffer chronic pain so I empathize there.) He certainly didn’t care about getting caught - he was already off the radar from family and friends, he could have travelled anywhere and no one would be the wiser. He didn’t even change his appearance! If he went to Japan, then he had a valid passport- he could have been sipping a margarita in Bahamas instead of hanging out at a Mickey D’s in Altoona, PA.

My apologies if this has already been mentioned. In regards to Luigi's timeline of events, it seems he totally goes off radar in July of 2024. I'm taking a wild guess here but I'm thinking he got his inspiration to assassinate someone from the attempted assassination attempt of Trump at Butler, PA on July 13, 2024. Luigi had so much anger in regards to health insurance claim denials that maybe the Trump assassination attempt and the spotlight around it inspired Luigi to target someone in charge of a health insurance company and based on his research on health insurance claim denials picked the head of United Healthcare, Brian Thompson to carry out his Robinhood complex.

With a family like that, the "inheritance" is loads of connections. He could get a job through any number of those cousins, siblings, aunts, uncles, parents. And, I'm guessing that is exactly what he will do when released from prison in a few decades.

This guy had absolutely everything going for him and still, he was a troubled young man with a gun who lashed out at a stranger.

I am guessing that his family arranged for an attorney for him as soon as they heard that he had been arrested in Altoona. His current attorney from Altoona says he first met with LM at the courthouse the morning of his court appearance, just after the outburst from LM in front of the media when he arrived at the courthouse.

It's possible he told his attorney that he doesn't want any visits from his family at this time, and I am guessing that the attorney is acting as middle man between LM and his family, conveying messages back and forth, and of course only disclosing to the family what LM authorizes him to disclose.

I think his family will be helping him behind the scenes in whatever way they can and at some point they will visit him in person, whether in PA or in New York.

According to his charge docs (page one, bottom), he requested a public defender. Who knows if he qualifies for one, he and family are far from indigent.

The surgery came after. While in Hawaii, he was talking about getting stronger in preparation for that surgery.

Jumping off of this, he had that surgery in July of 2023. He posted a couple of weeks later that the surgery worked, but this article says that it can take up to a year to heal.

So maybe he was not, in fact, better.

That makes sense; someone posted earlier that he was posting on Reddit that people shouldn't wait but go ahead and have their surgeries. I've also read that insurance has placed time limits on some things, maybe by the time he realized the surgery didn't work or that he needed to get the screws fixed, it was too late, and insurance wouldn't cover it?
