Your word ‘Pain’ jogged my memory.

The root of anger is fear. There was a book that I read a long time ago, can’t recall the author but it was about career criminals and/or first time offenders who resort to violence (anger) against people, places and things. Humans fear not being heard, respected, loved, understood, included, validated, etc. Primal.

The premise was that whether we have spats or major disagreements, fear is underlying. Even the famous ‘pick up your dirty socks’, for some people it can make them feel disrespected and not appreciated, resulting in harbored anger. ‘It’s so simple, why can’t you just do it for me???’

The author wasn’t implying that people murder their partners over socks but rather that fear can also be in the smallest of details.

What possessed this guy to choose murder instead of the healthy way to work through anger??? Radical thinking, radical actions.
Fear, Pain or powerlessness, and the impact of powerlessness is underestimated (IMO) he could have had 2/3.

If that is even true.
I haven't yet seen a bonafide link that says "sexual intercourse" in the context of what he could/couldn't do.

TrueCar?
One of the earlier posts here said they laid off 24% of the workforce at once, then went out of business. 2023
@CrimeDawg123 posted to ask about LM & his departure from TrueCar. Not sure if that was what you were referring to.

Terms & timing of LM's separation from employment there? I have no clue.

Anyway per below, yes, TrueCar had big layoff, 24% or 102 positions in June 2023.*

Seems the co. is still alive past the 2023 layoffs, w "Stockholder Letter" showing quarterly financial stmts. thru Sept 30, 2024**
TrueCar | New & Used Cars for Sale | Car Pricing & Reviews seems current imo
And per my "google finance" search TrueCar shares are still being traded on NASDAQ today under symbol "true."

Oh, thanks. I thought the mother had called them and learned they were out of business this past summer. Thanks for the correction.

Most likely hacked -- but by a highway worker or what ?
They are prob. already on it to find the source.

Whomever perpetrated this should (imo) receive a hefty fine if not some jail time for threats !
All of this is going to make ordinary people less compassionate towards LM and his health/mental issues.
LM wrote about his mental issues but so far there's been no public mention in msm of a diagnosis, afaik.
So far for now, it's just 'talk' ?

Looks like we may never know, if the defense atty. uses the Hippa laws to keep it under wraps.
But then LM's lawyer can't really use mental illness as a solid defense.
Imo LM has a rage problem and also is an injustice collector, but not necessarily insane.
Omo.

From the (no kidding) "Fashion & Beauty" section

Jacket worn by alleged UnitedHealthcare shooter Luigi Mangione is flying off shelves

Starting to remind me of the Bronco sales surge after OJ "chase" when he was cowering in the backseat on an LA freeway scared to turn himself in.

A person familiar with the matter told CBS News prosecutors from the Manhattan District Attorney's office have begun presenting evidence to a New York grand jury in the case against Luigi Mangione

Robin Hood of the digital age. He cannot be made into a folk hero.
Robin Hood is more a legend than a real person. However, LM wouldn't be the first criminal to reach folk hero status in the US. Billy the Kid and Jesse James, murderers both, have reach that pinnacle. Even Bonnie and Clyde had sympathizers during the Depression as well as Al Capone. There's been numerous movies made of these people and the public can't get enough. In many ways they are no different than LM because large swaths of the population secretly admire someone who's escapades, deadly or not, are putting it to 'the man'. Having a proxy inflicting pain on nameless corporate executives who have undercut their lives is like living vicariously through them. You don't have to like it or agree with it but to ignore it can be at your own peril. 'Let them eat cake' comes to mind.

I've been wondering about LM's previous trips, if any, to NYC, before the trip he made to kill BT. I've seen people reconstructing LM's travel and residence history speak of Baltimore, Pennsylvania, Honolulu, San Francisco, and Japan, but has anyone seen any mention of NYC in all his travels? It's possible I've just missed it. It's also possible this is totally irrelevant! But I was curious anyway. Just wondering if he had any extensive experience with NYC before showing up there 10 days before the shooting... and do we know yet what else he did while there (prior to the shooting)?

I found this interesting, this link posted by @arielilane.

He was in Thailand in April 2024 and befriended some people while there, and spent time with them. The source said Luigi never acted strangely, and described him as a “super friendly, communicative, and open" guy. They never saw any indication of violent behavior, nor did he ever express “extreme opinions, worldviews or ideologies.” By May 2024, it was noted that Luigi had stopped responding to their texts.

There’s a photo of him where it seems he climbed a steep outdoor staircase there. It seems he had the physical ability to do many activities on this trip. And, at least to these acquaintances, he exhibited normal behavior back in April of this year.

I can see him meticulously retracing his routes, diagramming and planning for any hiccups, walking and biking the city to get this all uploaded to his memory bank. I think he practiced and practiced. He knew about the conference, probably had a guest list and itinerary. He may have impersonated an attendee to get further details, or just hacked his way in. Lots of stuff is available on the web if you know where to look, and the rest is attainable with a bit of savvy.

Your mind wasn’t deceiving you, Here is the quote:
“Kathleen stated she last spoke to Luigi on 7/1/24, and that Luigi worked for TrueCar at 124 Montgomery, which is permanently closed and the main number disconnected the report states.”

TrueCar went through a restructuring process which included lay offs

Did we ever learn if last year's conference was in the same place, and if the CEO stayed in the same hotel? Learning all the details of the conference just doesn't seem difficult to me.

@NuttMegg
No worries. :)
Maybe LM's Mother or someone else said that ^ on SM or MSM.

A bazillion posts on the case make it hard for anyone to recall.
