A search warrant is a big deal! Think people underestimate the proliferation of cameras in NYC. Wouldn’t surprise me if they were able to follow him from the crime scene to wherever he stays. Maybe not every step, but enough to make it impossible to just disappear

According to this article, they are obtaining a search warrant for a location where they believe the suspect was staying.
They know who it is (possibly) but they're not naming names yet - imo.

Or some sort of facial recognition software!

At first, I thought it was a professional hit, and I still think it was very well planned out, but the message on the casings might indicate something bigger--like a formal resistance.

The word, "Depose," has a political undertone--to depose someone in power...

The killer went to a lot of work and preparation. It makes me wonder if he's a part of a larger group, or resistance that wants to send an ideological message.

Those words hint at a revolutionary meaning--how calculated was this act? An assassination with cryptic messages.

All just my wild MOO.

ha! maybe your wild moo... but I'm there too!! For now, anyway!

2020? Hmmm. He was very involved with covid issues in hospitals, given his profession. I wonder if they separated households because of his exposure? And then kept up the two households because it worked for them?

This Minneapolis news station touched a bit on BT's work when covid hit. Go to timestamp 1:30 -

Actually I just dug around a bit more, Brian purchased the 2nd large house in 2018, and then just sold it to his trust in 2020. My guess is they separated and wanted to be close for the young children. I have a couple in my n'hood that did the same thing. They maintain two $1M houses so they can easily share custody of their child.

Wow, that was fast! I figured 2 more days.

But there are hundreds of video cameras outside of CP that are accessible and with a large team of LE investigating, they can follow the suspect and find where he gives away his location/car.

What about a search warrant for where BT was staying? Need one for that?

United health care screwed over a lot of people. The list of people who could be responsible for his death is likely very long.

UnitedHealthcare is the worst insurance company for paying claims with about one-third of claims denied.

This is disappointing to read. I didn't know it was that high.

Yeah, big difference between 2018 and 2020. :)

Thanks for the update.

I thought I had read somewhere that they had already searched his room.

<modsnip - quoted post was removed - accusations/insinuations against a person not named POI by LE>

My gut tells me this was someone who knew a little about guns and had fired at a range.... but did not know that you need special ammunition that won't jam a gun with a silencers on it. Re: Adding a silencer changes the backpressure and stops the shell casing from being ejected properly... thus why his gun reportedly jams 2 times. He didn't use the special ammunition. To me, that means he was self trained and an amateur.

That tells me he did practice to do this and was not a professional hit man. Also, his stance was close to professional (like he had been to the range and fired standing up), but was not professionally trained like in LE or the military.

How did he know to show up 5 minutes before BT showed up but that was over 2 hours before the conference was supposed to start? How did he have inside information on that? That was not luck that he got there 5 minutes early.

Regardless, it looks like LE is hot on the trail of this guy and I would suspect an arrest within the next 2 days once they find where he went to from where he was staying.

This is what i meant when I said the backpack was unusual.

Eagle-eyed social media users have pointed out that the gunman was wearing a luxury backpack that retails for $279 and is well known amongst photographers.

I think he got rid of the bike and took a subway to JFK airport and left the country. I'm sure he got paid in crypto.

The boss’ former security provider expressed shock he did not have protection in the Big Apple.

Slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, was stationed at the company’s headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota, where more than 100 demonstrators descended in April and July to protest an alleged “epidemic” of claims denials, The Wall Street Journal reports.

During the July protest, eleven demonstrators were arrested, including people from Minnesota, Illinois, Maine, Texas, West Virginia and New York, according to Minnetonka police.

The People’s Action Institute, which led the April and July protests, said it was shocked by Thompson’s death — but still used the tragedy to highlight what it said was a “crisis of denials” in America.
