These are the indicative estimates of Russia’s combat losses as of Mar. 2, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Forbes: Ukraine retakes Toretsk weeks after Russia’s “victory”

Ukrainian forces are advancing on key frontlines, notably in Toretsk, where they pushed back Russian troops soon after the Kremlin claimed victory in the strategic Donetsk town.
Thanks for the link. It sure shows us that Putin could care less about the lives of his soldiers. Horrible.

Musk supported the U.S. exit from the UN and NATO"

I agree," the billionaire wrote on X.

Earlier, a proposal to withdraw from the UN was submitted for discussion in Congress.

If anyone is “playing World War III,” it’s Vladimir Putin, Macron says

“He brought 10,000 North Korean soldiers to Europe. He begged for Iranian drones, aiding their nuclear program in return — to wage war in Europe.”

The pause includes operations that typically expose or disrupt Russian malware before it can be deployed against American systems. A former senior defense official told the Record that suspending these efforts, even temporarily, could allow Russian hackers to regroup and strengthen their offensive capabilities.

Oh great. Why doesn't Hegseth just give Russia a direct connection to the US Armed Forces and Govt systems?

Apologies if this was already posted, this thread moves fast!

An SNP MP has said that Donald Trump's second state visit to the UK cannot go ahead if he refuses to show further support for Ukraine.
Trump accused Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelensky of "gambling with World War Three" during a fiery showdown at the White House on Friday.

Stephen Gethins, the SNP's foreign affairs spokesperson, called Trump's behaviour towards Zelensky "grotesque" and said it amounted to "bullying".

It would be laughable if not for the fact that he's letting his people die because of it. JMO.

That is like saying that Poland let its people die because it didn't surrender to Germany.

You sure are expecting a lot of an invaded country. "Come right in, take whatever you want, we won't fight you because our people may die. Our people will be fine with that"

imo

What is a SNP MP? I've never heard of that before. Is it some kind of UK official or elected politician?

Not at all. I want what's best for the Ukrainian people and I don't think they are getting it from Zelenskyy. JMO.

What allies?
Thanks to Trump’s greedy bumbling, our allies no longer trust the United States. Our current leader now aligns himself with Russia and North Korea, war criminals, shadowy oligarchs and a handful of mentally ill billionaires. Almost overnight, we’ve become a threat to our closest friends and neighbors, unpredictable, erratic, greedy and hostile.

It comes as a shock to most normal Americans that our country no longer trusted or liked by our Allies. This is not what Americans want.

Starmer says he felt 'uncomfortable' watching Zelenskyy-Trump argument at White House

Keir Starmer has been asked on the BBC about the furious exchange between Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump in the White House last week. He admitted that he “felt uncomfortable” watching the argument.

The British prime minister insists the focus has to be a “lasting peace” in Ukraine, which he says is essential for the security of Europe.

When asked about the exchange between Trump and Zelenskyy, he said “nobody wants to see that” and said that he spoke to Trump and Zelenskyy on the phone after the heated exchange.

He would not be drawn on specifics but said the purpose has been to “bridge” tensions to get everyone back to the “central focus” of supporting Ukraine to “stop the fighting” in the long term.

You may not think so, but the Ukraine govt overwhelming and unanimously supported their leader when they voted a few days ago for him to continue being leader while the war is still on. The people who care most about Ukraine obviously want Zelenskyy in place.

It is time to honour that, I think. They don't want to be killed, they also don't want to surrender their lands, they also don't want Russia's invasion, they also don't want to live under Russian control. So they are fighting for their rightful freedom.

And they want their stolen children back.

Starmer says the worst of all outcomes is for Russia to break the terms of an agreed ceasefire deal.

I am clear about is that if there is to be a deal, if there is to be a stopping of the fighting, then that agreement has to be defended, because the worst of all outcomes is that there is a temporary pause, and then Putin comes again.

That has happened in the past. I think it is a real risk, and that is why we must ensure that if there’s a deal, it’s a lasting deal, not a temporary pause.

<modsnip> He doesn’t pay taxes. He has no authority to make decisions or spout nonsense on behalf of our country. His opinions are meaningless as he consorts with our enemies.JMO

Starmer says we need a coalition of the willing. Not an exclusion, the more the better, but they need to move in a more agile way. So that includes the UK, Ukraine and France.

Starmer said there is no point of a ceasefire deal without security guarantees. He does not trust Putin and without security guarantees, a ceasefire deal is pointless as Putin will attack again.

Starmer says he thinks Trump wants to see a lasting peace in Ukraine despite his rhetoric and attitude towards Zelenskyy. “Everybody agrees with that apart from Putin,” he told the BBC. By “lasting peace”, Starmer means a “US backstop”, along with “security guarantees” provided by European countries and a “strong Ukraine” armed with defensive capabilities to resist the Russian invasion.

I love Starmer's thoughts.
