He looks like Skeletor
A mass murder, wanna be serial killer Skeletor...yikes. Can you even imagine seeing that pass you by in the dead of night with a mask on?? No wonder poor DM was frozen in shock.

I have so much empathy for DM and BF having to testify at the trial. They will be traumatized all over again and I think BK will enjoy watching it. 🤬

We got that information around March 26th and have discussed it here. A lot of the discussion focused on his list in the assignment of what protective attire would be needed to avoid contaminating a crime scene--does that ring a bell with you?

It's in the attachments, page 34-45 of the pdf. The mention of it being in a trailer park is at the end of the first page of the paper, I believe the knife/stabbing first shows up on pages 4 or 5 of the assignment.
Thanks, just sharing for those of us who aren't able to follow every single page IRL.

The twisted friendship of crime writer Ann Rule and serial ...

Jul 28, 2015 — The twisted friendship of crime writer Ann Rule and serial killer Ted Bundy ... “People like Ted can fool you completely,” she said in 1999.

Two days after the murders, he’s knife shopping Amazon for a new K Bar.

I think for me, that answers the question of him absolutely planning to do it again. Not a one a done crime at all. IMO.
That and/or BK needed to have a clean, pristine one since he left the sheath at the crime scene and disposed (more than likely) of the one he used for the murders to show just in case LE somehow linked him.

I absolutely agree he would have definitely gone on to do other murders if he hadn't been caught here.

The new details in this case coming out makes me literally sick. What a freaking nightmare to endure.
Thinking about this horrific murder after watching Dateline-- I believe it was a rage killing- just pure rage. I believe his target was Maddie: she represented all the rejection by women that he coveted: the beautiful blonde he could never have - he took all his rage out on her- I believe the other three were collateral damage. I think he didn't expect the other three to be there but since they were he felt he had to butcher all of them. I was surprised he had all those pics of bikini - clad women on his phone---there was so much in that Dateline program that made it even clearer that he is the killer. We also learned that there are things the prosecution will have to overcome to get a guilty verdict. This is far from a slam dunk. The smoking gun is the sheath with his DNA.

Thanks for posting the link to that article: I love Ann Rule: Read every single book she wrote-- the article was very interesting and gives a birds' eye view of her complicated relationship with Ted Bundy

At this point the trial is a vanity project for the benefit of the killer.

Maybe we're going to find out more about him, such as he has some form of sexual impotence or abnormality or disability or erectile dysfunction situation? So maybe he literally can't have a regular sexual relationship maybe?

After all, he's an average looking guy, tall, fit, well educated, good prospects, etc... no reason why some women would not have found him of interest.

JMO MOO
His coworker whose interest he rejected --

My theory, BK was infatuated with a type. Felt he could get any girl he wanted. He thinks he's "all that".

But also felt rebuffed by the same.

And ironically an "ordinary" woman wouldn't do.

Guy had zero finesse, wouldn't know how to initiate or sustain a real relationship and IMO substituted the pursuit of criminal engagement with women for a relationship. Like he was planning The Perfect Date. Only it wasn't for romance, it was for murder, his ultimate sexual thrill.

His search terms tell the story.

He wanted the perfect victim, sleeping, drugged, I don't recall all his searched words, but this was exactly a crime of passion, his idea of passion is just utterly disordered.

Said another way, IMO BK is a misogynist.

Hates women. Disdain women. Doesn't know the first or last thing about engaging them.

But believes he's on par with the creme de la creme.

How did TB choose his victims, not my question, BK's... and how did BK choose his? He got caught before it played out. Pretty blonde in the sister city to whichever town he lived in? Sorority girl in every school he visited? Had he been prolific, a new one every semester? Every month? Years in between? 20 year old victims as 40, 45 moved through his rearview window?

I wonder what he told his dad he'd done the night before, morning. Went to a party, met a girl? Stayed in, grading papers? Drove around Moscow? Gazed at stars? Lyin' Bryan.

I don't think BK killed MM because she rebuffed him somehow or he was angry he couldn't have her. I think he killed MM in order to have her.

That's what he thinks he accomplished.

Sick as hell.

Yeah ghnn, those selfies taken when he was back in PA. What a horror show for DM and BF. And for any of the victims who lived long enough to register his upper face, his eyes. Probably at the very least Kaylee and Xana, possibly Ethan. I hope beyond hope that Maddie never really awoke enough to register him.

I wonder if LE has receipts for fiber free shoe coverings.

Did he have them?

Did he wear them into the house and take them off or did he cover up his shoes before getting back into the car?

Would he really be so stupid as to remove them while still in the house?

Is a diamond pattern going to translate through a paper bootie? Almost has to be, that he had no shoe covering outside DM's door, right?

And he sits down in a chair?????? Takes steps to mitigate transfer but then does thing that beg for transfer? Full confidence in his mitigation? Why risk it?????

Like his idiot Amazon maneuver, buying a gift card with which to them but a knife he has delivered to his own self, was his preparation similarly half-azzed? Hair net? Heavy hair product? Vigorous showering? Balaclava. Coveralls. Booties. Gloves. More gloves.

Felt he'd taped all his DNA inside his zoot suit so he could touch any surface and never be caught?

Lack of self awareness -- I think he doesn't even think it possible he could ever be wrong.

I do hope someone will publish the book on this -- and title it:

We Don't Have Crosswalks in Pennsylvania

The guy doesn't know how very very wrong he is, and in every way that matters.

Winningest winner?

Loserest loser.

His coworker, kept a spare housekey in her office drawer. Office she shared with BK. Key which disappeared and reappeared.
But not before someone was in her apartment. Moved her burned brownies, put them in her microwave. What??????

Then lined up all her toiletries on her toilet.

Took a letter and a watch.

Super freaky.
Thank you all who are sharing snippets from Dateline. I’m out of town and as much as I want to watch the entire program, not sure if I will be able to access Peacock later on at home. Our technology is sketchy. All your observations are much appreciated!

He sat on a chair in XK's room! Omg. Did that freak sit there and watch her die? "It's okay, I'm here to help you. "
How do they know this? I couldn’t watch.

Thanks everyone who is sharing!

To the first part, I don't know. Must be evidence of blood on the chair --

The second part is my speculation

I still don't know when that was said, to whom, or in what order.

I won't be sold on this carving thing until we hear it at trial. It simply doesn't make sense to me that he did something like that, considering his plan had gone about as bad as it possibly could. He'd just engaged Xana, who put up quite a struggle, and then he takes the time to inflict wounds like that on Ethan's legs?

I'd be shocked if that's true.
I think it’s perhaps “carved,” like surface wounds, impeded by underlying bone, as opposed to stabs that were deep and caused by powerful thrusts. But why extra injury? So horrific. MOO.

If he is guilty (I am certain he is), he has got to be one of the sickest people ever.

Yeah, especially with the dog barking immediately after the "thump" heard on the neighbors camera.
That crying/whimper, then the dog barking, broke my heart.

  • #918
Someone refresh my memory—didn’t BK have a doctor’s appointment early the following week? Anyone remember the purpose of it?

  • #919
Agreed, that would only make sense.

But this is BK. A+ weapon. F for effort. He incriminate himself with DNA, CCTV, phone history, stunning.

The footprint had his shoe tread pattern. For since reason, he might really have removed shoe covers ...

Crazy if he did while still in the house. Risk leaving one behind....

These are the oddities:

That he sat down.

That DM remembered that he was carrying something. Like a handheld vacuum.

That he left a treadmark.

Putting those together, it seems possible he peeled off an outer layer while still in the house.

JMO
After committing the murders he probably realized the sheath was missing . So he had a panicked second , sat down thinking what should I put the bloody knife in .
He peeled his bloody layer off, wrapped the knife in the layer .
IMO
