what a weirdo he is, I wonder what his demeanor will be like once he is convicted, things are not going to get better then they are now. his father and his sister both suspected him..can you imagine? I think the whole act with the presents and the selfie etc, were all done to create an appearance of normalcy and tamper down any suspicion that might come when they hear about it.
How crazy to call them at 6 AM. like who calls people that early to open presents...it wasn't even his birthday yet. mOO

Someone accessed BK's colleague's apartment... moving the burnt cake, lining up her cosmetics... her key missing from her desk, then reappearing....

Brazen, stupid... and for what? The sheer thrill of it? And what's the thrill? Ooking someone out? Unsettling them? Toying? Scaring?

Did that someone keep the key just long enough to get a copy made?

Did BK do something like that at 1122? On any one of 23+ tours de force? Move some things around? Borrow a key? What was the locking mechanism for each room? For the slider? Did BK arrive with full confidence he could gain full entry? Expert lock picker? Or did he just get wicked lucky?

JMO

RE: breaking into the office mate/classmate's apartment. IMHO, I think it was possibly dual purpose: 1) practice sneaking into and assessing a woman's residence and 2) power. I believe it was already clear to him that he was his office mate's only friend in the program. Breaking into her apartment is going to scare her, which he would then be in the prime position to observe and enjoy. And naturally she would turn to him for reassurance and help, so more opportunity to feed off her fear and establish himself in a position of power with her.

FWIW, Dateline said the sliding glass door at 1122 was unlocked.

From the pictures I've seen of XK's room, it appears like her door had the typical twist lock in the handle. The story about her dad changing the lock was a misunderstanding her mom had--her dad had been telling her that when he had visited Maddie, he had noticed she had changed "a lot."

The pictures I've seen of MM's room barely show the door, but it shows a similar handle, so I'm assuming twist lock in the handle as well.

Photos of both XK and MM's rooms do not show locks with keypads or deadbolts or any other additional security measures, in the ones that I've seen.

I didn't realize that the father suspected his son of the murders.

In case you can’t get to a full broadcast, here’s Ashleigh Banfield’s summary of Friday’s Dateline program high points:

Can you say more about the context of my bolded text, … “he noticed she had changed a lot”?

So, I'm going to share a little something. My ex used to hide things and when I'd go to look for them where I knew I'd left them, he'd swear he hadn't seen it (whatever it was). And then magically,, the item would appear where I had looked.. One day, I got ticked off and purposefully sat something down I knew would "disappear" (it was always something I had been using, like a screwdriver) and took a picture of it. The following day it was gone. I asked about it, was told he had not seen it and took a picture. Two days later it turned up just a few inches from where I left it (no chance I could have missed it). I took a picture, asked if he'd put it there, he of course said no. I showed him all three pictures with datestamps and asked him how that could happen? He walked away and it never happened again.

Some people are just screwed up. Imo, it's just a control thing. There are some people who when they feel out of control of themselves need to exert control over someone else. Some cases are mild. Some are deadly. JMHO.

It was an interview back in the day with XK's mum or something like that. XK's dad had visited XK and said to XK's mum that XK "had changed a lot". XK's mum later mistakenly relayed this to the media as "XK had changed the lock". Jmo

It may have been the other way around ie the dad mis-heard what the mum said. Hopefully gremlin has the details, as I have not retained them. I just remember smiling a bit about what a classic it was and how much sm was generated about the changed lock that apparently never happened. Moo

Lining up all her toiletries, and I think they said 'organised them' or something similar---made me think of his OCD.

It was also odd---she apparently became very close to him in the beginning---thought he was very kind. He showed her a lot of attention. So she reached out to him and made a move on him, revealing she was interested in him, and he REJECTED her advances.

From her picture, she looked very attractive, much more than he was. But he rebuffed her?

That screams 'incel' to me. He wasn't really looking for a proper, healthy relationship. Like his searches said---he was interested in control, domination, someone passed out.
Maybe he actually liked her so he rejected her, knowing he was a crazy dangerous person, for her survival.

He'd need a heart for that first.

More like, he didn't have time, desire or radar for that sort of nonsense.

He was locked on 1122.

Part 2: Dateline. [random notes]

---CeeCee Moore---DNA expert of IGG:

She carefully explained how they skirted the 'guidelines' for LE use of DNA data bases.

Moore said that the guidelines are 'suggestions' but 'not legal requirements' for federal LE employees. And if the case they are investigating poses a great public threat, they can get an authorisation to use the larger My Heritage database if necessary.

---They talk about one of BK sisters telling Dad that she thinks BK might be involved in the murders. I'm so curious if that will make it into court

---Ok, here comes the defense theories:

----A tip about an alternate suspect---maybe from the blood on bannister? The state didn't test it because they don't want you to know

Death Qualified juries===more whites and conservatives, is that fair?

===that sheath = smoking gun---unless it isn't?
AT wants it excluded because of the IGG search going against guidelines===Judge H denied it so now she will focus upon using IGG controversy:

They didn't have a warrant to go into that DNA data base according to AT---so fruit from poisonous tree.

Now they will say DNA was planted or transferred somehow ===the sheath only says BK was original source but not necessarily the actual perp. Who knows how it got there?
Right. Who could possibly draw any inference about how an extra super duper sharp people killing knife sheath got where it did during an attack where a victim struggled.

After all, it's just one thing.

The Dateline episode had the clearest videos yet of 'suspect vehicle 1', BK's white Elantra. Security video obtained from a neighboring house, (almost certain it is the cam at 1112 King Rd that also picked up the muffled whimpering sounds, and thud, and dog barking)) exclusively by Dateline, is shown turning toward 1122 King Rd, which was just off camera, first passing by at 3:30 and passing in other direction at 3:33, then again turning toward at 3:38, and leaving at 3:40, coming toward yet again at 3:56 and leaving at 3:58, and then finally coming by one last time, at 4:06, going just past the turn, before making a kind of u-turn at intersection of Queen Rd and King Rd, before pulling in to stop, out of view, at 4:07. Elantra is not seen again until seen leaving at a carelessly high rate of speed at 4:20. By far, some of the clearest pics of the Elantra seen yet, pretty easy to tell that the car looks just like BK's, and very unnerving to watch, even now. Very clearly bookends the time spent committing the murders. JMO

Brief clip of partial video linked in preview, about 30 sec mark..

1:39.34.

AT: I've got this sheath. But I've got all these other things.

So, so many things...

1:40:48. Judge Hippler: his DNA is still on the sheath, that's the problem, Counselor.

Oh, how I love to watch a lopsided debate!

I was just shocked by how fast he drove away. I know they said it was a high rate of speed, but I was not expecting what I saw.

Dateline said investigators said that he left behind impressions in blood on the bedroom chair.

Pictures I saw of XK's room on social media showed that she had a low rolling desk chair with a fluffy faux white fur seat covering. Her desk was under the front window, so if the chair hadn't been moved, it would have been to the right of where her body was found.

Perhaps he sat down in order to search his suit and check for where the sheath had slipped or fallen to, assuming it must have been about him somewhere. Or maybe he realised it was no longer in his possession and felt dizzy with fear and shock? I was even wondering, did he sit in order to reach / adjust something about his feet. Or maybe to use some drugs such as inject something although that seems unlikely. I'm just trying to think of reasons people purposefully take a seat.

Finally watched Dateline.

My impression is that the chronological order of events, so clearly depicted, consolidates for me even more that it is BK and only BK who committed the murders.

I’ve said before, and still maintain my position—-give the death penalty, get the death penalty.

Now I’ll go back and read the pages of commentary about what others thought.

While doing some research, I came across a killer in Russia, who was convicted with the death penalty. They don't waste time there.

Is this on youTube? I forgot to watch!
What is the name to search? Thx in advance.

A mass murder, wanna be serial killer Skeletor...yikes. Can you even imagine seeing that pass you by in the dead of night with a mask on?? No wonder poor DM was frozen in shock.

I have so much empathy for DM and BF having to testify at the trial. They will be traumatized all over again and I think BK will enjoy watching it. 🤬

JMO
100%

I feel for both girls who were in the house and the girl who was going to be there, but had to watch her parents dogs an extra night. I feel for the poor guy who went in to "see" and how he just knew and protected the girls from seeing more. There are so many people in this story that will forever live with all the what ifs. Many will replay this night over and over for the rest of their lives. The 2 girls in the house will always have people who think they were somehow involved (even with ZERO evidence of that) and who will always question why they didn't do xyz. All I can say is I am thankful I've never been in this situation to find out exactly what I would or wouldn't do. People need to just hush and be thankful they were never in a house when 4 of their roommates were brutally murdered.

Said another way, IMO BK is a misogynist.

Hates women. Disdain women. Doesn't know the first or last thing about engaging them.

But believes he's on par with the creme de la creme.

How did TB choose his victims, not my question, BK's... and how did BK choose his? He got caught before it played out. Pretty blonde in the sister city to whichever town he lived in? Sorority girl in every school he visited? Had he been prolific, a new one every semester? Every month? Years in between? 20 year old victims as 40, 45 moved through his rearview window?

I wonder what he told his dad he'd done the night before, morning. Went to a party, met a girl? Stayed in, grading papers? Drove around Moscow? Gazed at stars? Lyin' Bryan.

I don't think BK killed MM because she rebuffed him somehow or he was angry he couldn't have her. I think he killed MM in order to have her.

That's what he thinks he accomplished.

Sick as hell.

JMO
He had a preference for blondes. The co-worker who hit on him wasn't blonde, she was a brunette and an Asian woman. Not his type.

I missed the first 1/2 hour because I thought it was recording, when it actually was recording 20/20. Did I miss anything in the first 1/2 hour?
