4 Univ of Idaho Students Murdered, Bryan Kohberger Arrested, Moscow, Nov 2022 #106

His coworker whose interest he rejected --

My theory, BK was infatuated with a type. Felt he could get any girl he wanted. He thinks he's "all that".

But also felt rebuffed by the same.

And ironically an "ordinary" woman wouldn't do.

Guy had zero finesse, wouldn't know how to initiate or sustain a real relationship and IMO substituted the pursuit of criminal engagement with women for a relationship. Like he was planning The Perfect Date. Only it wasn't for romance, it was for murder, his ultimate sexual thrill.

His search terms tell the story.

He wanted the perfect victim, sleeping, drugged, I don't recall all his searched words, but this was exactly a crime of passion, his idea of passion is just utterly disordered.

You could be right. IDK....

I have a slightly different view of why he rejected her advances....His 'searches' for specific fetishes---wanting images of 'sleeping' or 'passed out' women tells me that he wasn't looking for a regular wholesome romance.

He needs to dominate, totally control and overpower someone in order to feel 'romantic' about someone.

So his sweet, beautiful intelligent co-worker who actually liked him---he had no interest in that wholesome relationship. But he did like the idea of doing a few home invasions to frighten her to get himself psyched up.

Yikes.

And it's also paramount that they are "victims" but not participants with him, so he need not exert any emotional energy in trying to have a conversation or seduction, far less a relationship.

Agreed.

He has no time or skill for a real relationship. Especially with anyone might be interested in him. I think he thinks he is entitled to Perfect 10s, lost on him that the only way he'll get that is by ambushed, of a victim without consent.

He may have planned for additional SA in KG hadn't been there -- can't rule out necrophila. Beautiful woman, cannot consent, object, move. That might be what does it for BK. And no one introduced him to mortuary science...

Murder might have been his sexual thrill --

Either way, he's one sick dude, and I think he thinks he got the girl.

And if not for DNA and CCTV/CAST, he would have kept going.

Collect a phone number, pour over that girl's social media, shop for the perfect one.... or find the perfect one, like all her friends as a way to bookmark his way back to her. Maintain one skinny degree of separation...

In the same way he got phone numbers at the pool party and in the same way he was made aware of the hiking group, BK may have overheard conversations about the party house or even a casual invite, never shows up, locks onto the house all the same.

Either way, it's clear he was fixated... wicked, one sided courtship of death.

Being stalked unaware.

He wouldn't have but it's almost like he put cologne on before he went out the door.

In a way I wish they'd stop contaminating the jury pool. Of course I am interested, but I'd hate for things to get thrown out or good jury members nixed for stupid reasons, like they pre saw possible evidence.
The jury pool can't be too seriously contaminated by stuff that's already on the record ie the Amazon stuff or probably by anything else that will be entered into evidence. But imo it becomes more of a contamination issue with anything that will ultimately not find it's way into evidence. Not sure out of whatever was newly presented by dateline, which things might fall into that category? The post crime hoodie selfies in PA taken after googling Bundy and listening to the Britney track? INAL but have the feeling something like that probably would not be admissible. That's a lay person's guess. Jmo

Finally watched Dateline.

My impression is that the chronological order of events, so clearly depicted, consolidates for me even more that it is BK and only BK who committed the murders.

I’ve said before, and still maintain my position—-give the death penalty, get the death penalty.

Now I’ll go back and read the pages of commentary about what others thought.

Lining up all her toiletries, and I think they said 'organised them' or something similar---made me think of his OCD.

It was also odd---she apparently became very close to him in the beginning---thought he was very kind. He showed her a lot of attention. So she reached out to him and made a move on him, revealing she was interested in him, and he REJECTED her advances.

From her picture, she looked very attractive, much more than he was. But he rebuffed her?

That screams 'incel' to me. He wasn't really looking for a proper, healthy relationship. Like his searches said---he was interested in control, domination, someone passed out.

This rings very true to me.

I now think that, by 4:12, he may have incapacitated XK, if we can trust that original TikTok timestamp.

Enters just before 4:10, directly upstairs, kills MM with the knife, pommels KG with the butt end, stabs her. Awful violence but uncanny fast. Runs downstairs, catches XK, injures her, kills EC, kills XK. Then sits down. Very carefully steps out of his coveralls, AND his booties.

If the voice sounds/thump we hear on the neighbor's security camera at 4:17 are actually sounds coming from the 1122 house, IMHO that doesn't fit with XK being incapacitated by 4:12. From the clip played on Dateline, if that is a voice, it is too high pitched to be Ethan, JMO.

random notes from Dateline:[part 1]

--They flashed pictures of various random women on his phone---but I'm not clear if they were pictures he took of women or maybe pictures from social media?

Dateline mentions that many of them are from Instagram, and seems to imply his primary source for such photos was social media.

There is speculation/etc that his family had sent him his birthday presents which had just arrived Saturday---so he called his family Sunday morning to thank them and all that . And his clean white shirt in his morning selfie was him trying it on and sending a pic to show mom that it fits etc.
It would also explain the headphones if he was using them for the call.

Thanks for sharing that @Sundog I had not seen that. I wonder what type of regular appointment a young man in good physical condition (by all outward appearances) would need to see once every quarter or 6 months?

I wonder if he was on any prescription medications that would require a routine check in?

His effort to appear more 'normal and relaxed' seemed to have only drawn more attention to himself.

How do they know this? I couldn’t watch.

Thanks everyone who is sharing!

Dateline said investigators said that he left behind impressions in blood on the bedroom chair.

Pictures I saw of XK's room on social media showed that she had a low rolling desk chair with a fluffy faux white fur seat covering. Her desk was under the front window, so if the chair hadn't been moved, it would have been to the right of where her body was found.

According to the tapatalk posts, he was on thyroid meds and migraine medication in high school.

Now I have to wonder. Impressions in blood doesn't have to mean seated, unless they are butt shaped. If he had knelt down to maybe finish XK and put a bloody fist down (hand would be obvious) to help get up, that would leave an impression in blood.

Or what if XK sat in the seat wounded, and fell off (thump).

I really want to see that evidence.

This is just what I was thinking. And would they be butt shaped even if he had sat? If they were butt shaped then forensics would have been able to measure and compare with BK himself, which would be more damning evidence. We can't be sure, but I doubt there will be evidence of that nature? ( plus why would his rear area be covered in enough blood to leave that kind of impression?).

I guess there may be ways for forensics to tell the diff between a sitting event and some other event such as placing a (gloved)hand or part of a hand or arm, or leg on part of the chair. Jmo

He was still on a high after his killing spree a few days earlier. And, being a sociopath, he didn’t realize this wasn’t the time or place to be so cheerful, while everyone else in town was in a state of shock.
Once again, suspicious behavior.

I think so, as well.

He may have been in the best mood of his life after the murders.

He had gotten that monkey off his back.

He’d accomplished what he had yearned to do, and at the time he thought he’d been successful at evading justice.

Maddie and/or what she represented, pretty and popular girls who didn’t even notice him—-well, now he was the one who made the decisions. The ultimate decisions.

He would force the interaction between them and it would end the way he chose.

I can’t wait to see the crash in court. The justice system will make the decisions now.

Also, of course, he had no need to be concerned about some anonymous killer on the Moscow campus.

IMO

Someone accessed BK's colleague's apartment... moving the burnt cake, lining up her cosmetics... her key missing from her desk, then reappearing....

Brazen, stupid... and for what? The sheer thrill of it? And what's the thrill? Ooking someone out? Unsettling them? Toying? Scaring?

Did that someone keep the key just long enough to get a copy made?

Did BK do something like that at 1122? On any one of 23+ tours de force? Move some things around? Borrow a key? What was the locking mechanism for each room? For the slider? Did BK arrive with full confidence he could gain full entry? Expert lock picker? Or did he just get wicked lucky?
