Some other interesting tidbits from Dr. Wala's testimony.

RA was prescribed psychotropic drugs at 25.

He at some point served in the national guard.

He wanted to control his circumstances while in prison so he would refuse to eat. He made sure he didn't miss 4 meals though because that is when they (Prison) would do something about it.

Just so we're clear, standard anti-depressants like Lexapro, pain killers like oxycodone, and ADHD meds like Adderall are all psychotropic drugs. I'd wager (my opinion only) that 75% of us here are one at least one of these.

As always, JMO

Where does this information come from?

Forgive me if this information has been shared as I have multiple pages to still read here but I wanted to share this.

The following comes from two people who actually attended the July/August hearings.

The claims that RA stated he killed his family come from a May 2, 2023 report of Dr. Wala.

According to Dr. Wala's testimony she stated that on May 2, 2023, RA had a lot to say that day.

He wanted to know why he shouldn't kill himself.
Other inmates were allegedly trying to get him to kill himself. He asked Dr. Wala if he should kill himself.
This is when he stated, I've killed my family. I've killed my best friends but I won't kill myself because I'm too much of a coward. (Not verbatim)

Maybe the grandchild statement was made at that time too. I am not sure.

Time stamp: 0:50

"What will those closest to you think of when they find out you brutally murdered two little girls, two children? Only a coward would do such a thing." - Doug Carter

While Dr. Wala was on the stand it was also verified that in 2019 RA went to a mental institution for a week.

I am curious to know the date. Was it after this 2019 presser?
Context and timing of these confessions will be telling IMO when we see the evidence presented at trial.

Which came before attorney interactions ... and which came after.

Do we know what motions are being ruled on today? I have lost track.
There's still a few that I'm watching for ... and new ones probably going to pop up too.

One of the big ones being the Motion to Visit Crime Scene. I'll post when I see them unless someone else gets to them first.

I can’t keep track I thought today it all properly started. Why does it take a whole day to be sworn in?

When I did it in the U.K. it takes about 15 mins give or take. Then you proceed with the trial.

Considering the cost of this trial was being moaned about it seems crazy how much time seems to be wasted. moo
The jurors also need to be transported to an entirely different county and settle in their new housing. Giving them an afternoon to do that seems entirely fair. jmo

I'm trying to find more information about what was said in the mini-opening statements and this came up.
What would that have anything to do with this case?!

Reminding the prospective jurors to remain skeptical and open-minded, both attorneys referenced an instance where an unnamed Greenwood man posed as an attorney without actually being admitted to the bar.

“Things aren’t always as they appear,” Baldwin said on Monday.

Baldwin asked prospective jurors to avoid rushing to judgment over the confessions.
-.-.-
When Anna and Abby met an unknown man in a car in a parking lot of Wal Mart (or similar) and he had his eyes on them for too long or too intensive, he finally said nearly the same words to Anna, as far as I remember. I find that an odd coincidence ....

How odd. Especially for them both to mention it.

As always, JMO.
It was raised by two defense attorneys.

From the article:

Defense attorneys Andrew Baldwin and Jennifer Auger also conducted a single round on each day...

<snipped by me>

DailyMail.com has learned that, shortly after his arrest, one of Allen's neighbors recalled seeing police digging in his yard.

Now, DailyMail.com has been told they were digging up the family's dead cat, whose hair proved a match for the samples found on one of the victims.

Yeah, I am not quite sure there is much credibility to be found there - and doesn't that reporting violate the gag order? Or is the media/unnamed sources not covered by it?
Would the gag order be applicable to foreign media? Daily Mail is British...

Back in Fort Wayne this morning as Special Judge Fran Gull will hear a few pivotal motions in the #Delphi double murder trial.

Here’s what she’ll likely consider:

- The prosecution filed a motion earlier this week aiming to prevent the two sketches from being included in the trial. The left sketch was released in 2019. The right sketch was released in 2017.
- A request from the defense for jurors to visit the crime scene near the Monon High Bridge.

Trial is still set to begin tomorrow morning in Carroll County.

We’ll have the latest on @WISHNews8 | #RichardAllen #RichardAllenTrial
