Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #199

What are they going to put KA on the stand for? If the defense was calling her to the stand I could easily think of reasons why. I'm a bit stumped about why the State is calling her. Anybody have Prosecution case-affiliated reasons?
Recently KA had a statement released about her relationship via HER OWN lawyer (pro bono per the statement). I wonder, will that lawyer represent KA on the stand as well?

I could be totally out in left field on this, and rarely if ever hear/heard anything about it, but if I were investigating this crime, I'd be analyzing how many sets of footprints went down that hill, through the woods, to the creek and beyond.

If any... were there any? I wonder if we don't hear about it due to contamination by searchers?

These jury members have my uttermost respect as my phone is like a extra limb for me at this stage.

There is no way in hell I could give up my phone for any length of time.

I say give it a go for 24 hours -- you may like it! Also, it's not like immediate family will not know of the jurors whereabouts or how to reach them in the event of an emergency. :)

If we get to see or hear much of it AFTER the verdicts, I'll be fine with that.
I don't have great expectations of that happening other than what the reporters have; someone will have to buy the transcripts.
We wouldn't even have the public documents if it wasn't for the couple of net folks that put out the effort to get them and post them for us.

Passing RA on the bridge isn't necessary imo - IF - a person was ALREADY at the other end of the bridge then possibly RA wouldn't have seen him at all. My theory supposes exactly this - that someone COULD have been on the other end and that person COULD have pretended to pass them on the far end, then doubled back. I'm not saying it DID happen. Is just speculation on my part as to what the D may suggest to create reasonable doubt. mooooooooo
So let's say that happened---There is ONE guy, seen in the video, right next to the girls.

And then you say, there's another guy, that suddenly, somehow pops up RIGHT THERE, with a gun and orders the girls down the hill----

SO WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST GUY? He didn't say anything out loud on the video? Did he run away? Did he go call 911?
Did he ever tell LE what happened?

Did he see the girls get kidnapped but he just ignored it and never spoke about it?

Also in this as well as the affidavit RA is the only one to calls the building Farm Bureau. (Which it wasn't and never has been called Farm Bureau). Everyone else calls it the Child Protection service building.

It's like he couldn't bring himself to say Child Protection Service building.
Or... it might be because he actually parked... elsewhere? Mooo... maybe it wasn't his car at the old CPS location?

There is no link in the post you are quoting. The video has nothing to do with RA's confessions.
So, no.. unfortunately we don't hear the actual context.
IMO
I have full confidence that when we actually hear the context in court, it will be very very close to what I am referring to. JMO

I can't say for sure because I've never been to the MHB, but I suspect that, once the captor got his victims on the other side of the river, he selected a place to carry out his motive and I believe that place night have been a natural depression which would provide some cover. But also where he lost control of the situation and incapacitated one victim immediately before chasing after the other, then returning both of them to that same intent because it would provide the same cover, only now to better conceal his massacre. The bullet may have come from his pocket at any of those points. Particularly if he tried to undress.

It's all dastardly.

Part V - continuing observation analysis of the P's timeline and who was where at various times on 2/13/17. The below poses the scenario of RA=BG and I highlight MOO various hypothetical questions or what may have been in various parties' minds:

-- @ 1:22 PM - RA was in the car driving toward the trails/CPS parking lot, A&L still at home (BP & MP's home).
[Had LG posted something somewhere online indicating their plans coming up shortly which set RA into motion]
-- @ 1:38 PM - RA has parked at CPS and began his walk toward MHB. This IMO would be near the time he encounters the 4 Freedom Bridge girls according to the girls. He reports seeing 3 girls near the Freedom Bridge but doesn't provide a time. A&L are about to get into KG's car, yet still at home, to be driven over to the trails, arriving at 1:49
[does RA who's now already there know somehow that A&L will be arriving at the trails, particularly does he know yet they plan to cross the MHB?]
-- @ 1:52 PM - RA is nearly to the MHB from his longer walk from FB. BB is likely about 1 minute behind him on the same trail having begun her shorter walk from Mears around 1:48. A&L have been dropped off at Mears but haven't really started walking yet or are just moving extremely slowly with numerous stops.
[are A&L looking for someone they're meeting?]
-- @ 1:55 PM - BB arrives near the start of MHB to find RA already on the first platform. A&L have apparently only moved approx 1/16th of a mile now lagging well behind BB who started at roughly the same time as they did.
[why is RA on the bridge?, wouldn't his presence deter the girls from entering or are they expecting to meet someone?, is he anticipating they'll walk past him soon?]
-- @ 1:58 - BB is halfway back on her return trip when she intersects with A&L who were dropped off about 9 minutes earlier but have only traversed in 3 minutes the territory BB traversed in 9 minutes. We don't know if RA remains on the first platform. [he could've come back past the start point and hid [but why? what did he expect he was to hide from?] or he went all the way across to the abduction end [again why? did he know yet the girls planned to cross the whole thing?]
-- @ 2:04/2:05 - A&L approach near the MHB starting point and LG snaps photo(s?) toward the abduction end of MHB. RA doesn't seem to be in sight from the start point of MHB anywhere. It's not been reported where exactly BB goes during this time, only that she's back on the road leaving by 2:14 which is only 28 minutes from when she arrived at Mears.
-- @ 2:08/2:09 - A&L are partially across the bridge (halfway?). LG takes another photo back towards the MHB start with RA still not present [if hiding what would he have been waiting for if the girls are beyond the point of escape?]
-- @ 2:13 - AW, LG, & RA are all together at the abduction end of bridge. LG has video'd some footage of RA approaching but it's unsure how/where he entered the scene. [did he catch up with them going faster in the same direction as them, or did he come up from the private property abduction end, pass them, and circle back toward A&L?] [voice of apparent BG/RA does not seem out-of-breath]

I lean toward the latter idea that BG came up from the private property end and I base that on my own walking metrics - the MHB length is 1300 feet per MONON Railroad Historical-Technical Society which is 433 yards approximating one lap around a standard running track. As a similar-aged individual who walks a track regularly my "exercise/brisk-walk pace is like 4:10 per lap, my average pace is 4:25 per lap and my conversational pace gets up to around 5:00 per lap. In any event my "fast-walk pace" is just about 20% faster than my "slower-walk pace". Now if A&L took no more than 7.5 to 8 minutes to cross bridge, that is somewhat slow for 1/4 mile but not exceptionally slow considering the perilous bridge condition. I see no scenario where RA could've been going 2x the girls' pace without RA being in a running mode. MO that running on that rickety bridge was impossible for his age/weight and he'd have been short of breath by the time he caught them. Plus, without really anywhere for the girls to go, there was no need for RA to wait to enter the bridge till they were halfway across then hurriedly chase them down.

IMO I'm perplexed as to why RA would've felt he needed to beat the girls to a certain spot. For him to potentially cross the bridge alone, he almost had to have been tipped off somehow that they similarly planned to cross the entire bridge. It makes more sense IMO that he would've preferred to trail the girls if this were all planned... as opposed to him getting there first and perching himself on the first platform exposing any other random hikers (like BB) to viewing him.

LE has the whole video. They know from which direction the man was approaching.

JMO
They know what the video shows - they may not know if that man was already on the other end of the bridge, or if he followed them entirely across - maybe they have his entire walk across that bridge for all we know... guess we'll know soon.

You would be allowed to use the internet but it has to be while in the group, being supervised by a bailiff. So like after dinner, some jurors could choose to go to a community room, and they could use their tablets or laptops online, but a bailiff would be circling around, glancing at screens.

You wouldn't be allowed to look at CNN, twitter etc, but could check your emails, and IG, What's App etc.

And could probably log into sports or entertainment podcasts etc.
I'd be surprised actually if the jurors were permitted IG, whatsapp as those are social media sites... Is there actually any link etc that would tell us one way or the other what the jurors would be permitted to do on devices that are internet connected? MOOO.

I think it's also possible that he knew he had ejected a round, but forgot about it during the ensuing murders. Kind of like Brian Kohberger and the knife sheath.

I was wondering if he had picked it up when he initially ejected it, but then as he was bent over dragging Libby to her body's final resting spot it fell out of his jacket pocket (unbeknownst to him). By the time he realized it wasn't in his pocket, there was no way he was going to risk going back there.

If he’s been waiting there, lurking for some time… Why? Does he know they’re coming? If so, why not just take them down the hill right away when they arrive?

He goes out onto the bridge. Is he scouting the other side? If so, he sees RA on the first platform. It isn’t safe. And he’s leaving his intended victims unattended. Can he be sure they’re unsuspecting? The constraints on their flight are not physical.

Not buying. I know about other lines of evidence. I can see the outline of RA’s Sig printing through BG’s jacket pocket. I can do Occam’s Razor.
Remains to be seen really - I could believe it went down as the state suggests: that RA followed across and ordered them down the hill, but I want them to have the evidence - actual evidence, beyond circumstantial - to prove the point.

I could just as easily believe, in the absence of anything that definitely says RA is the man who said DTH to the kids, that he didn't do this - that there was someone else who did - if the D presented it to me. Reasonable doubt doesn't seem that hard to achieve from where I sit with this case atm. MOOOO

My guess would be questions about RA's comings and goings, his owning a blue coat, why he might have a bullet on his dresser, what car he normally drove...lots of reasons.

As always, JMO.
Ok the coat ok, she told LE he owned one the same color and make. The car, ok who was driving it that day. Guns, ok. Bullet in described as keepsake box, maybe ok. Do you think they'll ask her whereabouts on Feb 13, 2017? <modsnip: No source to comment> Do you think they'll ask her about the confession phone calls and play them while she's on the stand?

Well your southend approach guy would be reckless to approach from that side without knowing if anyone else ( witnesses) would be directly behind his victims or approaching from the north end of the bridge. He also would need to dress exactly like RA ( who just happened to be on the north side of MHB) and he would need to be short with bunched up jeans and too long sleeves on his windbreaker style jacket and sound like RA and most importantly carry the same model gun as RA and also have one of RA’s bullets to leave at the crime scene.
He also would need to leave the crime scene on a path directly opposite of his entry and instead walk northwest near a traveled road to be seen by the witnesses in his path to RA’s car parked at CPS.
It just doesn’t seem probable IMO
RA approached from the north end after effectively sweeping the trails to make sure there would not be any surprise witness from the north side.
Sounds like perhaps he didn’t count on possible interruptions on the south side.
All my opinion.
Ohhh I very definitely want to learn more about the bullet and the science that is used to identify it as belonging to this gun or that gun! MOooo.
